    WARNING, TMI...

i feel for you! I had extreme constipation and had 1 BM in 3 weeks! I didnt hurt though - What finally did it was increasing my Water intake, MoM and smooth move tea. MoM will hit you suddenly so try and take the night before you will be able to be close to the bathroom the next day. Good luck!

    Salad question

i have been trying to add in green veggies and have been less than successful. I am 5 weeks out. I tried zucchini about 2 weeks ago..not good and tried Brussels sprouts yesterday - I had some leaves and 1/2 a brussels sprout with/after my turkey and it was too much I got the back up full feeling and couldn't finish my last ounce of Protein.. it tasted good though!

    Who is using Equal?

i cannot stand stevia - it tastes like chemicals to me - however splenda doesn't, go figure - I use splenda in my tea and yogurt daily. I have been on a looonnggg stall but i highly doubt it is the 2 splenda packs I have a day

  8. I had a dentist appointment today and then was going to the gym to sign up and work out and I needed to get some food in me. I went to a popular restaurant next to the dentist that has a salad/hot food/ Chinese food/ sushi by the pound type of place. I typically avoid this type of food but I remembered they always have steamed fish and chicken. (Probably some msg thrown in haha). To measure my steamed fish, they have the 1 ounce salad dressing cups so I just put some fish in it multiple times and tossed in a little chicken piece. I added some steamed eggplant because they charge more for all meat. Very tasty. The grand total was $2.25. Hahaha. Before when I went there after the dentist it would be like 10.00 since it is 8.00 a pound. Man have times changed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Embrace the Stall

I plan to ask the nutritionist when she is back from maternity leave. I assume my dr knows what he is talking about as he and his ex partner speak at many conferences and when you look up who pioneered VSG his name is mentioned most. Right now I am having a hard time reaching even 600 calories. I never feel hungry so I guess I should eat more meals in between even if I am not hungry. Thanks for all of the feedback and advise. If I don't start losing I may up my calories to 800 and see. I am just starting to really work out this week so u need to increase them anyway. I am excited to start adding in some veggies and fruit. Today is the first day!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi. The last 2 days when I am looking at a topic the page jumps around and I can't read too long before it moves to a completely different area making it difficult to read. I believe it is when the ads reload? It has only been the last few days Thanks K Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Embrace the Stall

My target according to my booklet is 50 to 70 grams of Protein a day. I see a lot of people here are doing like 90 so I try to hit the higher limit. I think my dr may be more restrictive that what I see posted as I am to stick to 600 calories a day unless working out aggressively until I hit my goal weight. I have a 40 lb 3 month goal and I do not see how I will achieve that at this rate. But who knows, the stall may lift and the pounds may melt off starting next week Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Embrace the Stall

I am trying sooooooo hard to embrace the stall. Mentally, I know that this happens. I have read every post in this forum but dang it is hard!!! I know I shouldn't weigh myself but I am down to once a week. I am 1 month post op and lost .6 lbs from last week which was .4 lb from the week before. But it did get me to join and go the the gym today instead of just walking. I started the c25k program today as well. I hope this breaks soon. I am getting 500 to 550 calories a day. About 65 to 67 G Protein but need to work better on the Water. Carbs are around 22 to 24. Mostly from my Vitamin chews, Protein Drink and cottage cheese. Embrace, embrace, embrace!!! A general observation from today

I just realized that i am currently eating .5 ounces more a day than my 5 pound cat - She gets a 5.5 ounce can of food split between Breakfast and dinner and I get 6 ounces split between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both of us on high Protein, low carb. She looks so much better than me - HA!

    Sleeve and sushi?

I went out for sushi tonight at my favorite sushi restaurant. I was sleeved 3/1/16. I had 3 pieces of sashimi (butterfish/Walu) a Dipped in a bit of low sodium soy. No rice.. Just fish and it was great! I didn't have any issues. I had been craving sushi for a week. The only downside was even though I ply dabbed in the soy sauce, I found waiting the hour to drink was torture. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    TACO BELL it is

Not sure if God was looking out for me but the Taco Bell/kfc restaurant which is the only fast food restaurant near me closed down 2 days before I went into surgery. I did not typically do fast food but if I did it was that Taco Bell. I feel really lucky that there arent many more closer to me. And most don't have drive thru's and parking is a bitch. So it really keeps me honest . Now if only they would shut the Burger King in the middle of my city down I would be golden. Ha! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Your support person

Yeah - I live by myself and took 3 weeks off but had friends to call if I needed something and i was ok - kitty litter was my issue as well (I divided it into 1 pound zip locks before hand so i could handle I was itching to get out to the store by day 3 or 4. I work a ton so the alone time and downtime for me was great I did have a friend come over the first day I was eating something for moral support though!
  22. *I wish I had bought chap stick before as I needed it every day. *I wish I had bought sugar free gum to whet my whistles (Check with your surgeon..many do not allow) *I wish i had bought really soft nightgowns to slip on and off. I had bought a few mens style Pjs and they were too rough and scratchy and effort to get on and off - I had bought one super soft nightgown 2 sizes too big and wanted to wear that all the time. The softness and the tent-ness of it made my bloated and healing stomach feel better. * I wish I had bought a few different lightly scented candles - different smelling ones. By day 3 (for me) everything smelled bad - my bedroom, my living room, outside, people, etc. my friends who came over told me nothing "smelled" but I had to burn cool linen candles in every room in order not to feel ill. * I wish I had given my scale to a friend to hold for the first week so i wasn't constantly checking and obsessing about my weight *download an app to help you remember to drink / eat at regular intervals to avoid over or under doing it - it really helped me the first 4 days to get all of my Protein drinks and liquids in - ( I used Bariatric Timer) Good luck with your surgery!

    Bloated stomach

Hi ladies. Any suggestion on a comfortable shape wear or something I can wear when exercising? My stomach just doesn't feel supported when I exercise. The shapewear I have rolls down. Has anyone tried the leotard type? Any advise will help. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
