I put this in the Guy's Room only because I don't think the women will care.
I finally got to ride my motorcycle today for about 3 hours instead of just down the road and back. I have a 2010 VFR1200 sport touring bike. Don't let that touring part fool you, a VFR is not an "old man's" bike:

Anyway... This bike has 170 hp and 100 ft/lbs of torque. Do you know what that feels like when you take off? It feels like someone is trying to push you off the bike. Now imagine that you weigh 120lbs less than when you bought the bike! Now it feels like someone is trying to pull my arms out of my shoulders!
But seriously guys, riding the bike is so much easier now than it was just last year. When you aren't trying to force 330lbs through a sharp corner things are a lot less scary. First of all, your tires have better traction. Second, it's like going from 2-up riding back to 1-up.
Can't wait to start racking up the miles this year!
Oh, and if you ride - post a pic. Doesn't matter what you ride as long as your knees are in the breeze.

That's a great loss in 6 months! Congrats! I hope I do as well as you!
And I agree - 115 is an unreasonable expectation and too low.

That seems really low for your surgeons goal weight. I'm also 5'4, but 20 years older than you are. My surgeon gave me a goal of 150. I want to be at 145 because that is the highest weight to still be considered normal at 5'4. I'm 6 months out and the weight loss has really slowed down. I will be glad to hit the 150 at this point. I was 286, SW 268, and CW 192.
I just used my Doc's BMI calculator and a 25 BMI for someone 5'4 is 145. Depending on how long you have been overweight, your bones will automatically put you at the high end. 115 is a 20 BMI which is getting close to the underweight limit.

I don't think a few bites are going to be an issue. This next week be sure to stick with your pre-op diet and all should be fine! Good luck! I am reading this book recommended to me by someone on this site and by my Psychiatrist and I'm using my pre-op time (6 long months) to learn how to stop emotional eating.

Squats and princess lunges are helping. My butt is finally starting to take some shape and looks pretty damn good when my jeans fit. I bought one of those bender balls for squats, you squeeze it between your thighs (right above your knees) while you are doing your squats to work your inner thighs. Yoga has been helping a lot too because apparently being a flamingo builds up the gluts.

I had the same concerns.......but I just lace these jewels up and hit the gym and do some work.
Nothing phenomal occurring but it at least I'm sparing some muscle during the losing. Was scared before that I'd have to cover it all up with tattoos or some such ploy.
No fears now. Gonna keep getting lean and some minor muscle will emerge.

Hi. I'm on my 3rd week post op. I have had no problems with gas as of yet. But in nutrition class I believe they said the carbon would be painful. Also the caffeine from sodas and coffee could cause ulcers. I chose to stop soda and caffeine all together for that alone. Once I stopped drinking soda I dropped 10 lbs quickly. I loved soda! Once I started substituting with Water, well now my body craves Water. Hope that helps. Blessings to everyone on their journey. Sent from my LG-H631 using the BariatricPal App

Your new stomach is rather small and apparently many patients experiment lots of pain from the carbonation. And in general, the carbonated drinks are not very healthy, and since you can still drink your calories after the sleeve, it's easy to cheat.

Oh gosh. That is tough. Maybe @@Djmohr can way in on this for you. She has terrible back / spine issues and unable to do much psychically either and still managed to lose. I'm only 10 months post-op, so I am not the best person to answer this but based on what I have seen from others - you might try doing liquid again for a few days to jump start the loss? You have done so well and come so far (and wow only 17 lbs baby weight?!) You know how to do this and you can totally get back your mojo. As you said, you won't look back. You got this!!

I struggle with how I see myself in the mirror. I never saw myself being as big as I actually had become, and now that I am losing I am having a hard time seeing the changes from that. The "before "pic is really just earlier in the process and taken in December. I began my preop exercise and diet on 11/23/15. I lost 29lbs on my own before having gastric bypass on 4/4. I am down 40lbs now. At my heaviest I was 274, in the before pictures I was likely around 261. I currently am 235.
At first I didn't really notice the difference but I am now starting to the more I look at it. It may not be much, but it is the least I have weighed in 3 years, when I got down to 223 before getting pregnant.
I am very glad I have started down this path, and I am very excited to see what my future holds!

@@Emmyb2 oh lord yes! Mine did. I was a 40 DDD to E and after I lost 125 lbs was left with a saggy C-ish cup. I'm not sure what they were since they were mostly just loose skin. I just had a Tummy Tuck and breast lift 13 days ago. The breastlift is the most amazing thing ever!!! I never imagined I would be so incredibly happy with it. Now I have fabulous PERKY boobs! They don't fall down to my stomach anymore or into my arm pits when I lay down. I don't have to "tuck" them in a bra. In fact yesterday I wore a shirt around the house with no bra and they just sit there nice and high. Just beautiful!! It's the best feeling in the world!

Mine are still large but in a sad saggy sort of way. I went and got fitted for a bra and had to get a moulded cup to keep them up and perky looking. I will most likely look into augmentation when I am at goal because they are a sad sad sight.

Depending on your age, your breasts may be mostly fat. The older you are, the less breast tissue, and the most fat, are in them.
A friend of mine, who has lost 150# and is at goal, says hers are now so flat that she "rolls 'em up like socks and sticks 'em in the bra".
I'm planning on a lift after I get to goal.

Hi, my name is Katie and I'm a marketing professional who really hates Oprah's weight loss journey. It's like she's lost and gained the same 80 pounds over and over. That's like several inner skinny people (weight watcher's ad). The fact that I've done the same only makes me hate her more. Actually, I like Oprah. I just despise diet advertising of any kind. Nothing like making me feel worthless and hopeful all in the same 30 second spot.
Hi, my name is Katie and I finally reached my breaking point. I've finally accepted that my obesity is hurting my quality of life. I've finally given myself permission to do something about it. (Besides crazy diets that never work). In fact, it was Oprah's recent Advertisment on WW that inspired me. After watching her rejoice over her recent weight loss with WW while still eating bread, I thought to myself, "daaaammmn, if Oprah can't keep it off with all her millions and access to the best personal chefs and physical trainers, a hometown girl like me is doooomed."
So here I am, 1 week from my consultation, drinking a gin and tonic, ordering Chinese take out and righteously shaking my fist at the diet industry. One week, Oprah! One week and I will show you and the diet industry that I love myself enough to make the most radical life changing decision of my life!!!!!!!

professional musicians? lol heck no. ive been playing guitar for just over a year. i was a sound tech on the side for several bands and vocalists, and i was a budding amateur opera singer and a mobile dj as well.
No more opera, after losing over 200 pounds, my wind is nothing like it was and my voice even changed .
I have used the guitar to help me as well, when I have the urge to just eat due to boredom etc. i go into my music room and practice or jam, etc. Id love to hear anything you may have done yourself by the way. anytime . music is such an amazing thing.
Congrats on your sleeve. You can do this. let anyone here know when you have a question or just need to chat etc.
