Qwalla reacted to AmiLou in Very emotional and need support
I don't give advice but I certainly will pray that you make the right decisions for your family and self. I'm sorry for what you are going through and if you are a believer, the Father will guide you through this. Best wishes on your surgery, your emotional well being, and your family.

Qwalla got a reaction from gpjess in Work carry ins
I am sure it is difficult. I just keep thinking about a phrase that Weight Watchers said. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Drink Water and ignore..ignore. Ya I know easier said then done. I have to tell myself those are the things that got me into this calorie overloaded body that I am trying to change. It really is a temporary pleasure for a lifetime of regrets! Good luck. You can do this. You are a strong woman wanting to make healthy changes!!!!

Qwalla got a reaction from kelliev2015 in How long does this last?
Really try to sip sip sip to get your liquids in. You dont want to end up dehydrated in the hospital. My stomach felt sooo full it was hard to do. I did it but it wasnt easy. Yes my tummy did hurt fir awhile. I found Water tiny sips often helped me get the amount in I was supposed to get. It was a challenge for a few days. It just takes time. I felt like it was a full time job sipping drinks. I promise it will get easier. Feel free to message me if I can help or if you need to vent. Believe me...I understand. I just keep thinking long term this will all be worth it! Good luck sweetie!! Sending healing wishes!!!

Qwalla got a reaction from jdk524 in Which surgery did you choose?
After speaking and meeting with my surgeon he was very kind to speak to both me and my husband. He asked about my eating habits, weather I ate large quanities or more of a grazer. I wanted a surgery with least amount of risk that would be a good fit for me. He suggested that he thought the sleeve would be best for me. I believe a good surgeon will help you with that decision. 2 weeks post surgery and very happy so far with my decision. Good luck.

Good luck to you. We all have our own individual journeys with our own unique internal organs. We are all do different, it truly isn't fair to judge anyone for their choices. With or without surgery we all strive to be healthy and happy in our challenging journey of life. Life is a bit easier when we support each other without having to agree or disagree with their choices. Wishing a healthy happy life to all!!!

2 weeks from my sleeve surgery. I agree lots of emotions some that are just hard to explain. Lots of support from hubby but still emotional at times. I think the trauma of surgery..life style changes...wanting not to fail (again) are just a part of it. Being invited to countless bbqs parties and reunions don't help either. I try to tell myself this too shall pass and it usually does, thank goodness. Nice to know it isnt just me. Hang in there, we can do this together.

Qwalla got a reaction from WhtWdUGive620 in The struggle is real and why I'm going through with it.
I can relate to that. Even my dear sweet adult children wondered the same thing. I have spent so many years on that roller coaster I need to get a better start at it. I think people (even well meaning people) that have never struggled with their weight will never understand how difficult it is for us. I just explained to them if I felt I could do this without surgery do you really think I would put myself through this? They said they understood but then how can they when they haven't walked in our shoes? I had my sleeve two weeks ago this wednesday. Good luck to you and we can and will do this and be healthier!

Qwalla got a reaction from Djmohr in Dealing with Rejection
Girl you are soooo much better off now. You and your daughter deserve better than that. Just concentrate on the two of you. Healing takes time. I truly believe that when you take care of you and keep the negative out of your life good things will happen. Just remember one day at a time. Lots of support here. We have all been through similiar circumstances and challenges. Keep your chin up and remember what happened doesn't have to define you. You can't control someone elses actions. Learn and grow and stay positive. When we are at our lowest is how we become our strongest. You can do this girl. Best of luck to a healthy positive life for you and your daughter. Always a friend here in Idaho.

Qwalla got a reaction from trekker954 in Just had my pre-op "hosptial" appt surgeon & Anesthesia
I had my sleeve two weeks ago. My surgeon doesn't do leak tests either. He has never had a problem. He dies bunches and has a great reputation. Luckily mine didn't leak. Good luck everyone. I have a little over a week on full liquid and then 3 weeks on the mushy diet foods. I can't wait. Protein drinks are getting tiresome for me.

That's great idea not to have pastas grains and such. My plan isn't strict ... but I am strict on myself. I've been sticking to hummus, eggs, yogurt, and Soups ... and of course my Protein Shakes

Qwalla got a reaction from dede_mont in What should I expect in my first visit?
Hi I started this at the first of the year. My insurance required 6 months of doctor supervised weight loss efforts. I was just sleeved 9 days ago. I was very bummed to have to wait that long and almost chose to not have it. Guess what? There were so many things including classes, etc that the time flew by. I am so grateful that I had the six months and classes my hospital had to get my head wrapped around this life changing journey. Mostly it just depends on your particular insurance requirements. From what I have seen on here it varies greatly. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck and congrats!!!

Qwalla got a reaction from shelbys mom in Aug 1st is the day
Had my sleeve last wednesday came home the next day. Doing well each day comes with challenges. Drink..drink..drink. Some pain by the larger incision. Total of 5 small incisions. The small ones each have 2 staples..the larger one has 5. Get staples out Thursday. Each day gets a little better. A bit hard for me getting out of bed by myself without pulling too much. Keeping the eye on the prize of a better healthier life. Good luck to all of you!!!

Just had the sleeve yesterday. I survived without any problems. Pain level is tolerable. I could go home today but have to pass gas and drink the amount if required Fluid. Perhaps tomorrow. So glad to have this part of my journey over. I am walking lots around the hospital halls. It makes me feel better. Good luck all. No pokemon in the halls that I can find! LOL

Qwalla reacted to Armygalbonnie in How to quit sugar ?!?!?!?
Hi Everyone,
I can honestly say I did not get to my current weight by eating large quantities of food. I got this way because I eat the WRONG foods! Even though I love vegetables and I do eat them, I eat WEIGH (ok, way, just a play on words), too many sweets! I truly believe I have an addiction. Just the thought of sweets make my mouth Water, and my mind stays focused on them until they are consumed. I can eat sweets until I physically feel ill. So, my question..... What have you all done to break your addiction to sweets? I meet with the dietitian next week, for my first consult. I want that to be my starting point of bidding adieu to candy, Cookies, ice cream, etc. I really need some help here!
