    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hi SpecialK: I admit that I am frustrated by my relationship with food. I lost a total about about 85 lbs. Then I gained some back. Now, I am trying to get back on the wagon. I had something get stuck in my band and went to my surgeon. He took a lot of the fill out and sent me for a test. The band is fine and I am fine, but now I have to stairstep back to restriction. The truth is that I know how to beat the band. So, restriction is helpful. But ice cream slides right through. I react emotionally to things by eating. I even know it when I am doing it. I wish I could figure it out. I remember you and your journey. I know you have a lot going on, but I know you can do this. Maybe we can support each other?

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

good morning! The ups and downs of being banded. Well, I am working on getting my weight down again. It is a constant struggle. I am not sure, but I think I would trade my love of food for a decent weight. It just seems wrong for me personally to have spent so much of my life dealing with food and weight. sigh! I find that liquids for a day or so help get my pouch back to size. I have mentally considered a different surgery as well. It is very frustrating! I am not really as negative as this post seems. I still am down from where I was. Even with my recent weight gain of a few pounds, I am still in the same clothes. For me to "catch" myself this early in the weight gain is very good. Maybe I am learning?

Hello! Well, back on the food bandwagon. I let myself off for my birthday, but am back on again. (I need to stop celebrating my birthday for several weeks!!) Cool gizmo, hungry. I may check into it further. Interesting dr visit. Glad it worked out for you. I have found that losing weight is easier than keeping it off. I agree it is about finding balance. Hey Ajoneen. I have had my ups and downs as well. Glad we are both back on the downward trend. There is a nutrionist at my docs office as well. I hope you find them helpful. Christine - thanks for the update. There are times when I have considered having that surgery. That whole dumping thing sounds vastly unpleasant. Congrats on your weight loss. Getting under that 200 # is a goal of mine.

Hi Wishin! I think all the docs have different plans. They were very strict where I had my surgery. I haven't been to a support meeting lately, but I know things had changed. My docs said they had you on liquid and then mushy food to allow you to heal. Honestly, right after my surgery that was plenty. So, anyway, I am starting to walk again. I fell off the boat as far as food lately and am trying to get back into the swing of things. I can't get more in my band because when I do that I can hardly eat anything. (if something gets stuck it is REALLY bad). So, now it is up to me. So, here is to hoping we all continue to walk the healthy path.

    Just Banded Yesterday

Walk, take gas x and use heating pad. It will pass and you will feel better. Good luck!

    Need Reassurance

There are no specific rules about how and when you lose weight. Give yourself a break. Your body is still healing. It is correct that sometimes people don't loose weight until they have a good fill. It is good you are working on head hunger vs. real hunger. Keep at it!

    Sooo Hungry

Buy every kind of Jello you like. Make up several batches so it is in the refrigerator. Try mixing some. When you are hungry, ask yourself if you are really hungry. (sounds silly, I know). If you are really hungry you will eat just about anything. If you are not really hungry, it could be a craving or something like that. I agree that you should try as many broths as possible. The liquid diet thing can be tough. It also doesn't hurt to try some of the caffiene based drinks to help with the hunger. Good luck!

LynnM - what a life story! What horrible events for you to have to deal with! I am a lifelong eater when those type of things happen. I am working on changing that. I love the Bible cite. That is one of my favorite verses. I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me. I repeat it at times. In fact Lent is what got me back on track. I know you can do it. I am happy to be your cheering section. You did it and you can do it again!

Hello! I have to tell you that it is tough staying on a low carb diet. I know that I am not hungry, but I want something. UGH! So far, so good. Kind of nasty to hear that banded folks are bulemics. I can see how that can happen! Christine, good to see you on hear again. I hope the new surgery works. I think I got my eyes off the goal for a while. I was comfortable and the wieght slowly came back. Now I am ready to stay more focused. Glad to see some folks back here. I can use the support and am glad to journey with you.

Hello everyone! Sapphire you could be speaking my story! I had lost about 85 pounds and gained about 35 back. I have lost 10 of that 35, so I am back at 60 pounds lost. To the one who said they love chocolate - me too! I eat sugar free and I don't overdo it. (it has negative consequences if you do!!) I think I will try to log in more often. So hard to believe it was 4 years ago that I did this!

Howdy! I thought I would pop back in and see who has posted. Nice to see this is still a relatively active posting. I tried the Sensa and the stuff does work. It makes you not want to eat as much cause you feel full. Of course, now I need something for my head, because it wants me to eat even when I am not hungry! I am working on getting the number on the scale to go down. I still need to loose a bit of weight. I certainly don't want to go back. Congrats on the job Special. Nice to see the other posters as well!

Hello everyone! The little sign on said I last signed on in January! Hard to believe it has been that long. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. I'm not actually at my ticker weight, but should be able to get there in a few weeks. I've been reading about this Sensa stuff. Has anyone tried it? I have adequate restriction, any more and I wouldn't be able to eat solids.... Nice to see this group is still posting!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hi everyone! Welcome back unique. I think the best first step was asking for help. I think you have received some great suggestions. Frankly, I had to force myself to become accountable. I don't know what that would mean for you, but for me it meant doing a journal of all my food and being honest about my exercise. I tried to make commitments about exercise. I think you had some great success and can continue. You can do it! Christine - You have had some horrible problems with your band. I hope whatever you choose works for you. You have done great, keep it up! SpecialK - I think I am ready to commit to exercise again. I think just saying I will exercise 3 times a week and then doing it will be a good goal for me! wishin4 - holy cow! Gall bladder surgery! Yikes, hope you are doing better. I hope that was the cause of all your gastic issues! Everyone - Have a wonderful, new year. May all of us lose the weight we want to and be healthy happy shamrocks!! P.S. The Cookies got to me. I had to actually throw some in the garbage because I couldn't keep my hands off of them. My weight is higher than my ticker says, but I am hoping that by the end of January that I am in the oneunderland club!!!
