    Steady Losers 4ever!

Steph that is awesome! I still have a long way to go, but actually I think I would be happy at 140 although still technically I would be overweight. Well that is 30 lbs actually that seems like nothing! I mean really compared to where we all started!! I love my band. I am not sure how much I will have to lose after this baby, but I know I CAN DO THIS!

  3. A whole foot long! *OINK OINK* LOL Just kidding! Actually I am so jealous! That does sound soooo yummy. Hmmm maybe I will get that unfill early! LOL J/k but I am getting unfilled at least slightly before we go on our cruise in May. I dont want to be seasick, or morning sickness or food poisioned with a fill. It is too hard to puke! LOL
  4. Yes it was slow until I was approved by insurance. Once approved I had a surg date within the month. I love my band. I dont regret it one bit. My weight loss has been slower than most, b/c I have severe insulin resistance. The hardest part for me is probably head hunger but this has much improved over time. I lost about 60 pounds in a year and then I found out I am pregnant. (another band bonus) so I am on hold with the rest of my weight loss for now. Good luck to you.
  5. I would agree the carbs are too high. I think you need a fill. Great job on the protein though!
  6. I was done in Elkhart, I do not know this dr. I was done at Elkhart General with Dr Hoekstra. I have been very pleased.
  7. I think CURE is a strong word. I have lost 60 pounds and my symptoms are much improved and my fertility is restored I am actually pregnant now so weight loss is over for a bit, but I will restart after baby is born!

I need a pin up name!! Help me!

    LOL how about Kitty! ??
  9. First of all I am so sorry that you lost your baby! Miscarriage is very common with PCOS. I know it would be tempting to try again right away, but I would encourage you to get the band focas on losing weight for a year and getting your body ready to grow a baby. You will have a better outcome and healthy pregnancy if you are more fit. The band is fine during pregnancy. I also have PCOS and havent had a period in 15-17 years on my own. I got my band and lost only 60 lbs when my period returned and my fertility I am not pg on my own with no fertility drugs. I did LOTS and LOTS of fertility meds prior to my band attempting to get pg. It did finally work and I have 2 clomid babies, but the pg were horrible and I had a 40% chance of losing them. This pg is very different so far with alot of my weight gone. I still have a ways to go but I am so glad I am banded. Take care whatever your decision. Jill

    Steady Losers 4ever!

Kirsten- Just to clarify I am not dieting, Unfortunately I am eating for 2 or maybe 4-5! LOL I feel guilty like I am being a bad banster, especially all the carbs. But I am trying to keep myself out of ketosis since that is really bad for the baby. I am just venting- about having to gain- ignore me and I am vigilant about health when pregnant . Well I am off to cook some eggs- baby wants an egg over easy! LOL
  11. Bex- Eww- I had that too! Horrible! I got reallly dehydrated too. Get some Gatorade and down the stuff. We got get the body in shape for the big day. You are having C section right?? Raynie- LOL Believe me I have enough fat on the land to feed sextuplets! Plus the baby is only 4mm long right now, he doesnt eat much! If I start losing before beginning of April I will go get unfilled, but for now as long as I am maintaining I will keep it. I just eat all day long since it takes so long to eat stuff. I had gestational diabetes with both my other children and a fill may keep it better controlled if I end up with it this time. Gaining too much weight too fast would be bad for the baby and me. There are so many complications associated with obesity and pregnancy. I really want to keep it under a tight rein. I have been told my both Dr's the baby will take what it needs. That being said I am really looking forward and hoping in April when I get unfilled that I will be able to eat a sandwhich! LOL I would LOVE to eat even a half of sandwhich with bread. A subway club would really be awesome! (I guess old habits are still with me, lucky I have my band to keep me in line!)

    Steady Losers 4ever!

Sweet- we are at the exact same weight right now! You are doing so great, but I think you should get an MRI of that knee. You dont want permanent damage in there. Nat- oh fine leave me and nikki out here preggers by ourselves! J/k congrats on your period! Steph- so glad you had fun with your family this week. It sounds like a good esteem builder too. I am seriously thinking about putting my scale away till after baby is born. It is just so depressing to think about it going up. It is soooo hard to make it go down even with this band I have worked my butt off! I just cant take it when the scale goes up. Right now I am maintaining my current weight. I know it is worth it, I am so excited about this baby, but the scale going up is difficult to swallow. Plus I am drinking milk like water and I know I really dont need alot of extra for the baby right now. But for some reason I need milk, I just need to get over it the scale is going up, accept it and move on. Eat healthy continue to exercise and enjoy the time away from dieting , Right????
  13. I can not take the prenatals. I cant swallow anything bigger than a pencil eraser. I am maintaing my weight currently. I have to take the Viactiv chew vitamins I think I need more calcium right now and I may go get those chews too. I crave MILK constantly. I drink it but I worry about it b/c of all the lactose in it and I am trying to MAINTAIN my weight and not gain any yet. I feel like a could drink a gallon a day. and I of course do not like skim milk I drink 2%! I am trying to focus on yogurt. I will probably get unfilled partially around 14 weeks or so. WE are trying to think of names! Tell me what you think... BOY- Micah James Andrew James GIRL Lydia Marie Clarissa Marie (Clare) I really think it is a boy since I dont feel sick. With my daughter I was sick constantly. With my son I felt great. So far I feel great. Other than so tired!

    Lapband And Pcos

I have PCOS and I have lost about 60 pounds. My periods have returned after 15 years or so of not having one, (unless induced by dr!) I am now actually pregnant on my own without fertility meds. I grant all this to my band and my low carb lifestyle with the band. ALSO exercise! I am however a very slow loser. only 60 lbs in 13 months. THen I found out I was pg so I quit trying to lose. Good luck you will lose but it will be slow. PCOS sucks bigtime!
  15. ziahmama- i am early pg and I still have my fill. I will be getting a slight unfill next trimester.
  16. Very pretty nursery. I did one for my first, but this is my 3rd and he/she will be in my room until weaned then in the room with brother or sister depending on if a boy or girl. So no nursery. It's kind of a right of passage with first baby after that-- who wants to spend the money! LOL

    Steady Losers 4ever!

Awesome B-man!~ That sounds like a great job. I drive 45 min also to work. It can be nice to relax and unwind for a bit , but the gas consumption stinks!
  18. Nikki glad your little boy is growing well! WOW I cant imagine what it will be like for you after you have this baby! You are going to be shocked when you see yourself in the mirror! Smokin! LOL Sorry for all you rashy girls! It is defintely part of pg! I hate to tell you this but I ended up with a rash in the strangest places, (behind my knees, my fingers etc) that lasted 4 years! It was hormone related! It sucked so bad! I actually have it somewhat back now! ERRRRR there is only one cream that works and you cant take it during pg!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAA!
  19. I got a surprise Ultrasound today! I was having left side pain, and I saw my dr in the hallway at work, (I am a nurse!) I told him and he ordered me an ultrasound and booked me an hour later! My little bean is fine and in the uterus right where it should be!=) YEAH!!! I saw the heartbeat too!

    Steady Losers 4ever!

    hmm- where is everyone???
  22. He was so nice about me being preggers. I lost 7 pound this month. He told me I could keep my fill for now. The baby would take what it needed. But if I was losing too much, needed to be looser for vitamins, had m/s he would be happy to unfill me. For now I have chosen to stay at my fill and see how it goes. I can go in anytime to get unfilled. I am getting about 1000 cal a day. I know it is not alot but I have very low metabolic rate :eek: He said we just need to follow me and the baby very carefully. Blood tests , US and the such. So I am going to wait till next month when I see the OB and see what he says unless something changes between now and then.
  23. I talked with the OB nurse, she said it was probably ok. I have an appt with him coming up and I will go from there. So far I have mantained no loss no gain. I am fine with that.
