  1. I agree with kdee, honestly I get po'd about people saying how much they've lost especially when they where done the same month as me but in reality they aren't like you at all so it shouldn't matter.

As for getting to your goal weight? Take it a day at a time, don't do shakes for extra protein because honestly they just go straight thru - there liquids and they won't keep you full. Stick to high protein foods and lay off carbs, it sounds horrible but it definetly works.

    Good luck Karla =)

  2. Why not just get the large and then if you are a medium size when the wedding comes around you can take it somewhere to get altered? Or if you don't wanna do that then buy both and whichever one you don't wear sell the other one on ebay?

  3. Yikes 30lbs? I did the exact same thing though. When I went to mcdonalds I was in the mindset "Oh it might be the last time I eat this, might as well have the double quarter pounded with extra cheese" Yeah not so good lol. I think I gained like 15lbs though, which isn't that bad I guess but considering we're having wls it probably wans't a good idea lol. =(

  4. Hey! Congrats - I never had to do optifast after and even if I did I would of told my doc to shuv it, hated the stuff lol. As for the burping yes that's normal, you usually have gas after surgery because they put it in your stomach to make it easier for surgery - If you have any pain just walk around and it usually subsides, also people get shoulder tip pain and walking helps withthat as well. Port pain - use a heat pillow. I had a variety of things when I was on liquids, sustagen, milk, water, apple juice and that was basically it.

Uhh what else? My back was sore as well for about a week mainly because I couldn't move alot when I went to bed, once I started trying to lie on my side it was way easier. Congrats that you've lost 7kgs, no clue how much I've lost cuz I just started the soft foods and can eat heaps =( Definitely need a fill, thankgod I get one next week =) Oh and chances are they won't give you a fill this early, your still healing from surgery and 20 days out they won't do one (sorry to sound like abitch) but the usual waiting time for a fill is past 4 weeks as your still swollen from surgery. Good luck with everything else.

  5. It's definitely hard, my surgery was postponed twice and I had to do the preop diet for a month - First time I had one of the shakes I puked it right back up, not fun lol. As for changing it up, add some low kilojoule toppings to your shakes. Gives them flavour. Good luck =)

  6. Hey Cyndi, I think we were banded on the same day and honestly for me I couldn't imagine eating food right now. I'm supposed to start mushie/pureed food on wednesday and I'm a bit paranoid about even doing that lol. The thing that sucks is that because we were both just banded, we have no restriction, it totally sucks, and I'm on the free fluids and I'm only supposed to have about 250ml of fluid but I've actually had more and now I'm paranoid I've done something. Maybe just try eating more cottage cheese, eggs etc and when you have to make your family dinner, go for a walk or something? Good luck =)

  7. Hey, I did that with mine, sometimes I couldn't be bothered making them that day so I made them the night before and just stuck them in a water bottle, then the next day you just have to make sure you shake them again to distribute the contents or whatever. Just keep them in a fridge and they're fine - But be warned the more you use the same water bottles they tend to stink after a while because of the shakes lol.

  8. At least it was on your own terms, my surgery was postponed twice, first time because cancer patients required surgery which is fair enough but second time I wasn't actually on any surgery list at all. Thankfully mine has been rescheduled for the 12th this month. Hope yours goes well =)

  9. Yeah I know the feeling, but then you tend to overeat and you think "oh my god, now I know why I have to do this" As for the optifast stage it depends on what flavour you get, I bought a box of vanilla and made one up, took a sip and gagged so I threw the rest away, that was after being on the chocolate for over 2 weeks. The chocolate is bearable but overall I would say the strawberry is way better - My doctor sent me some samples of all the optifast range and I usually hate strawberry drinks but it was sweet and the only one I didn't have to plug my nose to drink. So maybe try those - Also the bars aren't that great, I took a nibble out of the chocolate one and the berry crunch one and there both gross but it's personal preference.
