  1. It's really dependent upon your insurance. The program wants you to learn and put to use the information they provide. You'll want to follow everything they say. This was the best decision I've ever made for myself and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

I know all the appointments seem over kill, but you'll be glade you went to them. You need to develop the skills and discipline to maintain. WLS is not a permanent fix. You can gain your weight back. Try to start losing weight before your surgery. I wish I lost more prior.

At my first appointment with Dr Kirk on 1-18-16, I weighed in at 299.

My surgery was on May 11th, and surgery weight was 274.

Today, almost 4 months post op, I weigh 218.

Words can't describe how happy I am with this decision. Bailey has a great team and program. Just do everything they say, and watch your life change.

  2. Hi all, I'm new to this forum but having read the posts I can see that you're all wonderful and a great support network for one another. I'm from the UK, and unfortunately haven't been able to find a forum like this in the UK, so hope you don't mind me joining in?! I'm due for a sleeve on 1st May, so I'm currently doing my 2 weeks pre-op diet... Best of luck to everyone with their upcoming surgeries. Xx

  3. Interesting thread. Next week will be my one year anniversary for my divorce. I'm still not ready to date. I have a hard time trusting men. I haven't dated for over 12 years, and the new dating world is extremely overwhelming.

I hear all these horror stories about meeting men online and it terrifies me. Now as an adult, I realize how brave I was in my early twenties.

I tried the online dating scene briefly, but really didn't like it. Most men came on way to strong. Clearly not looking for a relationship but only hook ups.

I would like to meet someone who can carry on a conversation and not expect anything. I talked to a guy online and really enjoyed the conversation of history, politics, travel, etc. until he asked if I like to "please myself". Seriously??

  4. Welcome! I was so nervous about this journey too, but this forum has been so amazing. I'm towards the end of my consultations. I am hoping to start the final insurance approval beginning of next month. This is a place to ask questions and receive support. If there is a support group in your area I highly recommend it. I was really uncomfortable with the idea of a support group. However after my first meeting, it was a huge help. Good luck to you!
