Excersise is my major lifestyle change?

Well, you're right. There are people living this way. Their opinion is just not as popular so some of us prefer to rather not comment. If it's possible not to worry about weight in the future? I can only speak for myself and I notice the lingering fear in regards to weight gain in the back of my brain so for me it doesn't seem to be possible but that doesn't mean that there are people who have a more relaxed relationship with this. It's definitely not mandatory. That's BS. I'm saying it again: it's not mandatory. Low carb, high protein is just the trend nowadays. Or keto. Some years ago it was low fat. Times simply have changed and they will most likely change again, bringing on the next dietary trend.

    Major Regain

Yes. Diagnosis before treatment. Why exactly have you gained so much weight back? Increase in appetite? Did you start eating different foods and why? Lack of movement and if so, again why? Does some of the medication cause weight gain on top of that?
  3. When weight loss stopped I didn't change anything to "enter maintenance". It just happened and I continue to do what I do. *shrug*
  4. After having read through that thread I'm wondering if people have different understandings of what is "attention" or "male attention", e. g. for me male attention would be referring to something sexual. An innocent flirtatious conversation with the guy two floors up the office building doesn't really count as "male attention" for me. That being said I wonder if I myself might have been the woman one or the other time some men who've lost a lot of weight are complaining about ("all of a sudden I'm getting female attention"). Err. 🤔

    Weight loss slower than anticipated

    Revision patients usually lose slower.
  6. It's simply something I don't have. Men didn't give me attention when I was fat and they usually don't do now, especially not some random stranger-man. I was never asked for my number by a total stranger and can't imagine that someone ever would. May I ask in what kind of place this happens? A club for example or a bar? I feel more or less invisible now and not like I have some kind of target on my back. If I want to blend into a crowd, I simply can blend in.
  7. Why do you think you've begun to regain weight? What exactly has changed?
  8. Adopting a lifestyle within the first gung-ho months that's not sustainable for you in the long run. Too many people are posting about "having fallen off the wagon" after their so called "honeymoon phase" is over because they burnt themselves out.

    The Three Month Marker?

First time I hear about it. Seems to be yet another little tool for inducing even more anxiety in patients when it comes to "reaching their goals". Patients putting themselves under pressure is already really, really common - this will put even more pressure on them when it comes to weight loss within the first three months ("I have about 200 lbs to lose to reach a normal BMI but I've only lost 80 lbs in the first 3 months and studies say..."). Err.

Solid foods - did I eat too much?

Completely normal. Food varies in density and water content. A cup of berries is going to sit differently in the stomach than a cup of cut up steak.
  11. Maybe a WLS board is way too biased to really answer this question neutrally. I personally think that even if it's possible to lose the weight and maintain it that it will most likely be much more of a struggle in comparison to having WLS. However, WLS has its downsides as well, e. g. possible complications both directly and indirectly linked to the procedure. What you can do is go to the appointment and follow through with the program/plan they have to offer. You can back off anytime if you want.

    Looking for a Bari-Buddy!

That bear is so cute, indeed.
  13. Ah yes, I was on the fence as well but some things simply shouldn't be left uncommented.
  14. Let's just say that there are dietitians and dietitians just as there are surgeons and surgeons.

Protein Coffee is a GAME CHANGER

Protein coffee was a staple in my diet as well for a while. Got sick of the someday though.

What is the consulted surgeon's opinion on this?

    Food Before and After Photos

I have some hospital meals to post as well. They couldn't really do vegan (well, if you like starving it would have been possible I guess) but vegetarian minus the lactose was possible and I felt well fed.

Iron Deficiency 4 years after surgery

Iron deposits need a while to drain. Some people are not able to resorb oral iron supplements after bypass. However, a fast drop over the course of some weeks isn't really explained that way. What about the other parameters? Ferritin, transferrin, hb?

    Tummy Tuck in Chicago

This. My surgeon doesn't do combos (though the body lift is already a combination procedure in itself) - except when it comes to "smaller stuff". Lower body lift was about 6 h of surgery time . Legs about 4 h. Plastics are no piece of cake when it comes to TUA. The surgeon I chose won't even do breast and arms in one sitting because breast will require a lot of TUA because I don't want implants so he's going to grab as much thoracic wall tissue as possible. The mobilization of that tissue alone will require app. 1.5 hours. Also ask yourself how much of the surgeon's concentration is left after a procedure that lasts about 4 h or longer. I want to have good results with minimal complications as much as I'd like to have breasts and arms in one sitting. Tbh I'm not sure about arms yet. They don't look good but from a strictly medical POV...
