    Not telling Mom/some others....opinions

What the hell!!! This breaks my heart for you. It amazes me that a mother could be more concerned with how her daughter reflects on her than a daughter who is grieving the loss of her father. Ugh!
  2. Are you tracking your fluid and protein intake? If you're hitting your goals then that shouldn't be the issue. Calories could be for sure. It took me 8 weeks to regain my energy and was my worst complaint of the surgery. Hopefully you'll get your energy back before then but if not, rest assured you will eventually.

    Opioid Malabsorption

That's interesting because meloxicam is on my "do not take" list. I am so screwed because I'm also on xarelto (blood thinner) and the only pain medicine I can take is Tylenol or Tylenol combined with a narcotic. Aleve was my "go to" before.

What a mess and how sad for those in need.

    Opioid Malabsorption

So what are the ones who are honest and truly need pain medicine supposed to do?

What if they switched to a pain patch?
  10. I was allowed to swallow pills (as long as they weren't huge) right from the get go. All the literature they gave me said to crush or go to liquid form but when I met with the surgeon before surgery he dismissed that and said it's fine. He was right. It's been no issue at all.

    Water... Plain, nasty, boring water

My niece has an infusion water bottle. Cucumber and fresh mint are her go to. Thanks for the tip though because I too drink a lot of crystal light.

    6 months in the hospital

I didn't see how much she collected. She definitely went guns blazing when people didn't respond how she wanted! That's exactly what I was getting at with her "research". What did she expect to find at a hospital? Confirmation bias.

How'd you find that out? If she's lying she needs to banned and her gofundme page would be considered fraud.

    Gum: [emoji30]

Love them but be warned...they are tongue burners! I stuck one in my mom's tongue once, ooh was she mad! LOL

    6 months in the hospital

I actually never thought she was lying about her story. I had to assume someone with that much passion was being truthful. I have issue with her biased research and false stats. I have issue with her scaring people who need surgery in order to live a full life. I understand she's upset for her family member and had she just told his story instead of all the scare tactics it may have been more helpful.

    MAY Sleevers?

I was sleeved 5/22 and I eat about 900 calories a day. I'm a slow loser as well. 37 since preop and 22 since surgery. I feel good and at least the scale is moving in the right direction. Stay focused. Maybe we won't have loose skin to deal with since we're slow losers.

    6 months in the hospital

She is saving us. Don't ya know? [emoji849] It appears she is making it her life's mission to end weight loss surgery. I guess it'd be better if we just died of obesity instead. I really don't know what she wants but I know I'm done playing.

    6 months in the hospital

Well if you want to use anecdotal evidence I know several people personally who have had surgery years ago and have no regrets and are healthier than they were before surgery. Although some have put some weight back on they're still smaller and feel better. You are in a hospital, of course you're only seeing sick people. You think that represents the entire weight loss surgery community? Btw, I never called you a liar. You really need to calm down.

Sell out? Because I'm happy with my surgery and feel better than I have in years? I asked if you had data to back up your "stat". Clearly you don't. Quit running your mouth.

    6 months in the hospital

Do you have the data to back up this statistic? 6 out of 10? Bull.
  23. This reminded me of you. [emoji173]

    Throat pain

I did and like you the pain meds didn't do much. Time will correct it.

    Major Life Changes

I've wondered where you'd been. Our stories are eerily similar (minus the WLS at the time). I was in a ten year relationship and she ended it. I too was grateful and heartbroken at the same time. I moved in with my parents at 47 because we decided to sell the house. My mom was diagnosed with cancer right after. All of it ended up being such a blessing in disguise. I was able to take care of my mom until she passed, shortly after I met the love of my life and remarried. It's scary and exciting all at once. I hope your story has a wonderful next chapter. xo
