Your hair loss will stop when your weight loss slows down however taking Biotin will help with regrowth.
My Hair loss started at month 2, slowed at month 12 and now I am jest nearing month 15 and it has stopped.
It will come back and it will only thin, you should have no bald spots.
There are many threads on this topic.

I have read in many forums with exercise increase, calorie intake should increase too and this will enable more weight loss. But congratulations on all of your successes one year out! I'm only 6 weeks out and can't wait to hit a years benchmark.

I only told my mum, aunt and best friend - now 6 weeks post op people just comment on me looking slightly different although I am a slow loser, declining food was never my forte in the past so people have been speculative not about surgery but me making health changes and working out. Some choose honesty, some choose secrecy, whatever works for you, works.

In the UK - WLS is still rather rare. I've told lots of people and met with good luck and awe. People want to know what's involved and what I can eat etc I can easily loose weight ..... But I simply cannot maintain it. People are used to seeing me massive or slim lol

I am 2 months post op and only told my husband, parents, and three of my best friends. Now that I am down almost 40 lbs, I am starting to get a lot of comments and questions from people, like, how am I doing it? I tell them I changed my diet. I leave it at that. I don't need people judging me on my surgery when they know none of my struggles of what led me to it.

I didnt know any of this Thank you I am about 7 weeks out and had my first stall.... I think I was more concerned that it was because I am eating less then what the docs said>>> I just can't eat more then what I eat now... At least now I know not to freak out... I slightly had a moment ( no one knows about this moment but you and this site) But I was like crap I messed up something. Thank you for letting me know this is normal... I didn't gain anything... but I didnt lose... either... I lost recently ( last two days 2 more pounds) So I guess it is starting again... to be fair I lost 67 pounds in less then 3 months... So I know it has to slow down ( it does right?) I don't know if I am "normal" or just fell off quick . I get my protein daily And lost no hair WOOT!

I had gastric on 1-12..one month ago. I've had no troubles, no nausea, and I can eat anything...and I mean anything including sugar. salad and meats are not a problem either as long as I chew well. My concern is that I don't feel the restriction they said I would feel when I started eating solid foods. I have to really be on my game or this isn't going to work for me.
At my two week checkup, the surgeon said I could eat anything. I took him literally and I haven't lost a pound since. Monday I started meal planning and weighing my foods so I can start losing weight again. I have to remind myself that the surgery was a tool and not a fix.

I understand the foods that I've listed are bad...I'm keeping it real on here by being honest with myself and this online community. Thank you for the breakdown of the caloric intake that was that meal...I'm very well aware of the content though. I wouldn't say 'attacked' but there's no reason for the judgemental b.s. and condescending stupidity from others- I thought that this was a place to come to for help and lifting up...to me, when others throw that garbage out there, it just shows that they may have their eating priorities in place but not their attitudes. Good for you for coming at this with that wonderful attitude...sometimes myself and probably others on here (I may be wrong) need to regroup and get back to that mode of thinking.

I certainly don't eat like that every day! Of course you would gain weight over time. If I go to a birthday party, I will eat some of that stuff. What is that, like once every couple of months? I have to live the whole rest of my life. There's no way I'm doing that without EVER having pizza, cake, or ice cream again. I'm 17 months post-op and struggling to find a way to eat ENOUGH calories to maintain my weight now that I'm training for a half marathon. I don't apologize for having an occasional treat at a party at this point. I have ice cream in my freezer at home in fact. It just sits there. I haven't eaten a single bite of it in weeks. But if I do decide to have some, I'll just work it into my day.

this is just something I found interesting. I was told by the doc and the nut from the beginning no carbonated drinks ever, it will stretch your sleeve. (not that that's what you did, just saying) from the beginning I was told that was a major deal, (stretching of the stomach. ) 5 Ways To Prevent Stretching Your New Stomach
Don’t overeat. This is the obvious one but it needs to be said. It takes more than one meal to stretch your stomach and cause issues. However, if you give yourself a big meal here or there, it will eventually get out of hand. That’s how most battles with obesity start. So, do not overeat. Even if its Thanksgiving or Christmas do not overeat. Have an extra sweet or a small portion of the scalloped potatoes – number 4 on this list should help in those situations where big meals are common. Avoid fluids during meals. Its best to avoid fluids during and right after meals. Give your stomach some time to digest the fluids separately from your food. Consider drinking your fluids an hour or two before a meal. This allows you to eat a decent amount of food without filling up on fluids and ensures that you get enough fluids throughout the day. And don’t drink carbonated (especially diet – new studies show diet drinks can increase hunger) drinks at all. They can mix with your food and create gas that can put pressure on your stomach causing it to expand unnecessarily. Snack. If you are struggling with hunger then its better to snack in-between meals than it is to go into a meal extremely hungry. When we skip a meal, such as Breakfast, its easy to get so hungry that we gorge ourselves the following meal. This is a good way to stretch your stomach. So instead, eat a snack in between meals. Try and make it a healthy snack and limit the portion size. Reward yourself with a treat rather than a large meal. Its important that you reward yourself from time to time. When our friends are eating chips and salsa or having ice cream its important to know that you can have a little bit as a treat from time to time. In fact, its important to change what you consider a treat. Its no longer OK to consider a large meal on Thanksgiving a treat. But it is ok to consider half a piece of chocolate a treat. Limit your treats to once or twice a week and keep the portion size small. Portion size is more important than nutrition. If you try to eliminate all treats and anything with fat then you are bound to fail. The key to success is moderation. That means that you shouldn’t eliminate everything good from your diet. If you do, you will probably end up cheating and then binging. Remember, food is not the enemy. Eating should be an enjoyable part of your life. The enemy is excess. Enjoy your food in moderation. Stretched Your Pouch? There Is Still HopeThe stomach is an amazing organ. It’s able to accommodate change in ways that have helped us survive for thousands of years. When food is scarce, our stomach can adjust our hunger sensors to say, ‘I’m full,’ after just a small amount of food. And, if needed, our stomach stretches to accommodate more food than is really needed. This can also be helpful when you might not know when your next meal is. However, our stomachs haven’t learned how to deal with a regular excess of food. Again, that’s why its easy to stretch your stomach after gastric bypass.
If you stretched your stomach, get back on track. Your stomach will adjust its sensors and you’ll start to get back to normal. But you may need the help of a dietitian and support groups. Its worth it to call your surgeon’s office and let them know that you feel like you’re losing control. A decent surgical practice will have the resources you need to get you back on track.

NovaL reacted to Geof01 in My wife thinks I had the placebo.
No one wanted me to do this. Not my wife. Not my friends. Not my Doctor. Not my other Doctor. "You are carrying your weight well". "You exercise". "You can lose the weight". I quit smoking in 1988 and have been gaining ever since.
I have sleep Apnea, AFib, Blood Pressure. And I have been carrying my weight well, all 160 extra pounds. I never did name him.
Before surgery, the scariest part of the week was getting fit for a CPAP machine. I was in denial. I didn't understand that shorting myself oxygen in my sleep was the primary cause of my Atrial Fibrillation. My surgeon says the sleep apnea will resolve as a result of the weight loss. The AFib may not go away. I did beat it once with exercise, but I might not get that break again.
So I scheduled my surgery. It took over a year. Too much politics and insurance management. My work insurance covers nothing to do with obesity. In September I went on Medicare with a zero co-pay supplement. It has covered my AFib, both heart conversions. It covered my sleep tests and CPAP equipment. It covered my surgery.
Surgery went well. I have had no pain. No nausea. I have lost 18 lbs in 24 days. My bullet holes are healed. I'm ready to eat food in a few days.
So my my wife says I must have had the placebo surgery. I know the difference. I have not been physically hungry. I can watch the food channel and think "that looks good". I can see a huge burger on a bill board and think "that looks good". But I have not been hungry. I have every kind of measuring cup: 1 oz, 2 oz, 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup. I have my Nutribullet. I can make white bean chicken chili with refried Beans and cayenne pepper in a puree in 6 seconds, heat and eat. I can have a plate of Yogurt and cottage cheese and enjoy it. I have organic lemon juice and cider vinegar with my Water. I've stopped crushing my pills and if I want a real treat I have a sugar free pudding or half a kozyshack rice pudding. 60-70 gms of Protein and about 600-700 calories. Without the hunger I can do this.
The worst experience I've endured is wearing my CPAP every night, and enduring my choice of liquid Vitamin.< /p>
Total loss 42 lbs. On Sunday I'm back to work. Lets see how stress factors in, as if I don't know how I got here to begin with.....

First I want to say that since my three week stall I have now lost more than ten lbs, so the stall for now is over. I think people should have the right to "freak" out if they want. You may say. that will not solve anything. That is not the point. The point is to acknowledge how you feel. This is important. Also, I do not think the mere mention of being disappointment about a stall is "freaking out". Anytime one strives for a goal and that goal is not achieved there is going to be disappointment. That is normal. To state over wise is false. So if you experience a stall cry about it, shout about it, throw something (preferably something that will not break), and so on. Then once you have had your moment pick yourself up off the floor and plan again. The journey we are on is going to have all kinds of feelings/emotions the best way to deal with it is to acknowledge it.

It's look the rule of law was working... I was just stressing about this during eating some tuna and mashed potatoes, questioning whether I should have been doing it or not. Now in week 3 weighed myself this morning and the scale did not move -__- thankfully it is normal I had pre-read about stalls but it is different when you're actually going through one. But at least we're not alone.

So, I left the hospital on a Friday, was off pain meds by Saturday, and went to work on Monday. I started the puree for a few days and then moved to very small pieces of food. I am now 17 days out and 20 pounds down. Now, I am at a stall for weight but inches are melting like crazy. I walk about 1 1/2 miles a day, only eat Protein and veggies/fruit, and measure ALL my food. I have 1 Protein Shake a day too. Except for the hospital, I have had no problems with food. I have to obsessively measure my food because I could eat more. I was advised to follow the measurements strictly. My point being,....we are all different. The diet and exercise recommendations along with consistently is the key. I am very happy I am doing so well. I stopped focusing on weight and more on how I feel. It isn't immediate. Keep that in mind. Stay on the path - you can do this!

In my first 10 days after RNY I had gained 10lbs! And that is on calories only from Protein Shakes (approx 300 cal per day) BUT I wasn't getting enough Water so I was retaining water like crazy. In the beginning I also sort of felt like maybe they didn't really do the bypass. I couldn't get all of that water down though, but when I started transitioning to purees I felt like i could keep eating and eating if I wanted to (luckily I didn't try it) and now that I've been getting some texture I really really feel it. I feel it so much that it's hard to believe how little I'm actually eating and feeling full. Everyone is different in the beginning, but these strange things happen to everyone. My surgeon also had me try to start purees in the first week home. Full liquids and loose purees for 7 days. Every program is different too. Congratulations on your surgery & hope you're feeling great now!

    thanks for your post.
Chili is a great idea, need to try that soon. Thanks for the tip about adding unflavored Protein powder!
Yum, smoked salmon does sound great. I can't wait to try the Ricotta bake as well. So many people seem to love it that I can't wait to try it! Thanks for your reply.
I am glad you posted that because, I think giving our Stomachs some extra time to heal is a great idea. I was shocked that some people I know where eating Pureed foods at day 5. I started mine at Day 16 so far, so god. Thanks for you post!

I hope they meant walking with "day 1 exercise" because the pain is too restrictive. Stick to walking and the more the pain starts to ease you will resume daily activities. Full exercise is only to be resumed once you are healed and there are different recommendations on when exactly that is.
