seriously! getting off the bp meds was a major driver for me having the surgery .Along with the joint pain I was having that I no longer have now.

  4. Someone took my protein bar from the break room. I'm not hungry but I really wanted that bar. I feel like crying. Hormones.

welcome to world of working in an office environment. nothing is sacred. a few months post op - had a little container with a strawberry (that's right one) in it in the fridge for my afternoon snack with a piece of cheese. it was there at lunch, but at 3:30 snacktime it was gone. I was still having major emotional moodswings so I did cry. a week later, the tin of caffeine free tea that I kept ON MY DESK was stolen while i was in a meeting. I went to security on that since it meant someone went through the things on my desk and blatantly stole it. Security shrugged saying what do you want us to do? Still being an emotional basketcase, I went off. it wasn't pretty. now I keep my tea and an insulated lunch bag locked in my desk drawer. it's ridiculous when you think you work with responsible professional adults...

yeah i don't know what i was thinking getting that flavor - i'm "iffy" about banana things in general. hate eating actual bananas (more of a texture thing) but in my fatty days loved banana bread, chocolate banana milkshakes etc. but banana yogurt is just icky! blackberry today - much better!

clearly your surgeon messed up your sleeve - j/k. mmm scrambled eggs, sounds better than the banana flavored yogurt i had - not a flavor i'll get again.

  7. 15 days until my Plastics....getting a little nervous but really excited too! Cannot wait until I no longer have to stuff myself into spanks and a bra. LOL

Good luck! looking forward to hearing how you progress with it. I am starting to accept that I will probably have to get my arms done...and the plastics freaks me out way more than the sleeve surgery did!

  9. Having lunch today with two guys I used to work with and haven't seen since March so pre-surgery and about 120lbs ago. Should be interesting to see if they notice a difference. One knows about the surgery and has seen a relatively recent pic (from vacation in October). And I think he may have told the other about the surgery. Should be an interesting lunch in a lot of ways!

haha I thought about doing the "glance back" like Loretta Devine in Waiting to Exhale as she's sashaying away from Gregory Hines whispering "he better not be watching me walk away, (glance) oh, he's watching me walk away". But we actually stopped in the parking lot and Jeff said bye, and Scott stood there and kept talking (very typical of him) until I twice had to say I have a meeting so I have to get back to work. But I'm sure the guys were texting the rest of the afternoon and probably including our friend Jason who wasn't able to make it to lunch. But it was nice to have lunch with the guys I used to eat lunch with every day for over a year. The only thing I miss about that company is a handful of people.

Had a great catch up session with the guys. Jeff (the one I hadn't seen since feb and that I hadn't told about the surgery) was driving in as I was walking up to the restaurant and waved. At first I was like, well I guess he recognized me - still haven't had anyone not recognize me, even people I haven't seen in over a year and over 160lbs ago. But when he walked in he immediately said "wow, you look great!" So that made me smile. Scott (who knew I had surgery) didn't even comment on it, oh well. But still was great to touch base with the guys I used to eat lunch with everyday for over a year. And I think Scott noticed but didn't know what to say. I had to laugh, they both held back as we were leaving and followed me, so I strutted out the door just a little.

  11. I was 251 at my 3 month check-up this morning. I have lost over 70% of my excess body weight. I'm shooting for the low- to mid-220s by Mardi Gras day. Now, we are off to tour SE Asia for a month. Happy holidays everyone!

  13. 6 months post op - 89lbs down. 1 year since first consult, 167lbs down. No longer in daily pain in my back and knee - priceless.

and the only person who has used the word "skinny" in relation to me was my friend's 7year old daughter on saturday - I hadn't seen them since before surgery and she was like "Auntie Heidi you got skinny". Considering I'm still morbidly obese at 275lbs, I just laughed and said, thanks Hayley.

i've lost 167lbs so far - still have a long long long way to go for my weight to be 167lbs. I doubt I'll ever get down to that. I started at 442lbs a year ago, was 364 day of surgery.

  19. We got great news today! We found out Tuesday my SIL was NOT a candidate for liver because she was too unhealthy to make it through transplant. Well, Today her own liver is showing signs of improvement! They think that if her liver gets healthy enough, her kidneys may begin to function again. She is also awake, alert and may be able to come off the vent. Thanks so much for all of your prayers! Someone is really watching out for her upstairs.

  20. Headed to the hospital to see if my SIL will get a new liver. Fingers and toes crossed that she is doing better and gets her transplant.
