  1. I went back after a few years. I gained weight due to inactivity - torn meniscus and surgery. Next year bilateral Achilles tendonitis and several months ago a slip on ice fracturing my ankle and surgery and 2 broken wrists. Then I took one bone building pill, Fosomax, that tore my stomach apart. She took 2 cc out and gave me a script. Feeling hungry was awful, even tho I didn’t eat much I gained. Went back to my previous fill and realized I should have gone more slowly. I’m able to get a cup of Soup down and some mush green Beans on Thanksgiving. By Monday I should be better or I’ll get in again and take a cc out of my fill. There was absolutely NO judgement by the NP. She was very helpful.
  2. I never got any good diet advice other than eat protein first at least 80 grams then get my carbs from fruits and veggies. I was doing great, playing tennis 5 days a week then tore my meniscus and had to have surgery gained weight not eating much. Then a coupe of years later slip on ice and break my ankle and wrists. I have osteopenia in my lower back. No where else. Anyone have a decent diet to follow. I eat like a bird so it’s frustrating that my weight loss stopped after my injuries
  3. I took one dose of Fosomax ( for bone growth) that causes so much gut pain I had my fill reduced by 2 cc. A few weeks later being hungry and gained a few lbs I had the 2cc put back in. I’m guessing I should have done 1 cc at a time. Hard adjustment getting small amounts of liquids down. Yesterday after 3 days after 6 hours I was able to eat a bisque soup. It’s the holiday weekend and I think by Monday I will be better. Getting down a couple of pills is hard and they are small so I’m sitting upright for 30 minutes hoping that’s enough time as it’s usually 20 minutes to absorb meds if you throw up without a lapband. Any suggestions?

    I'm stuck and frustrated

It appears folks want to spend more time criticizing than helping. I saw my NP everything I'm eating is correct. Protein shakes are a good way to get my protein in along with food protein first then other food. My goal is 80 grams or so of protein a day. Yes my body is losing weight slowly. Yes it's mainly belly fat. Of course I wish it came off faster considering my diet and excercise. I just prefer to read posts that are non confrontational.

I'm going to try the assorted pack for a week. The only thing that is concerning is the amount of sugar in the shakes compared to my protein shakes.

I appreciate those giving positive advice. I'm a bit confused why gastric sleeve (pre-op?) are providing advise. I've had a lap band. I want advice from those who have had the same surgery as me. If you don't like the advice, ignore it, it's not your request for advice. Rather than to start some verbal war. I appreciate the person who told me what worked for them. I'm a RN. I know what I am eating is correct which is basically almost all Protein because I can't eat anymore than that. I tried Protein Bars, low sugar, I gained weight. So that means I need 1-2 Protein shakes a day, high protein low sugar especially since I am very active. I play an hour of singles or tennis drills. I alternate swimming 30 minutes or biking 5-8 miles 3-4 times a week. I eat around 1000/1200 calories a day give or take. I work to add more calories in my diet. I squeezed through my plateau and am slowly...slowly losing. It is very frustrating. Surgery Dec. 2015 and I am down since surgery 30 pounds, 40 pre surgery doing everything right. I have 90 to go. At least I've hit the under 100 pounds to lose. So to get through my plateaus I mixed it up. Right now more of the Atkins or Keto diet with I do anyways but without the carbs, that's pretty easy. Most people just shed the weight. I'm still losing it so slowly. Yes, I'm looking long term but I need something to get my body to get rid of this excess weight which is mostly around my stomach. I am down 3 pant sizes. My goal is soon to be down another size by my reunion.

I got through that plateau and have hit another. It's not what in eating and I'm getting plenty of protein and I'm excercising. I'll look at Shakeology.

I've been keeping my food diary. I got past my plateau. The weight is now coming off. The inches were coming off when I wasn't losing weight too. .

    Stuck with weight loss lapband

I take the tone of emails carefully as I was just asking for advice. Good news though. I did a 2 day Dr Oz cleanse as it is called. While adding protein powder to the shakes to get my protein inand it appears that I'm dropping and may break this plateau. 2nd day out to dinner for my sons birthday so really did it for 1 1/2 days.

I add dry peanut butter to my shakes. I've been stuck between 227-230. Today I'm down to 226.5. I think once I crack that 225 mark which I have not been below forever I can continue losing My band is 9cc out of 10 which is good for me. Sometimes I can eat more who knows. It's these huge capsules I can't stand but they are necessary.

I added butter and cream to my cauliflower purée last night so my calories were actually higher and I dropped a little. I bought avocados which I love with lemon. I pulled my back this morning so my activity is going to slow down. I really enjoy playing tennis. Coming back from 20 years not playing. My husband plays too so I think once I'm able to play games with others that will be perfect for activity since I enjoy it. I also love to bike but it isn't helping my bone growth. I've got osteopenia if my lower spine. I broke my knee 4 years ago so I've been doing low impact excercise and need impact for bond growth. Tennis is good because upper body excercise is good. Walked for 30 minutes yesterday. My knee started to hurt. So adding cream. Butter. Avocados to diet. Avocados are so delicious and good for you and easy to eat. I made meatballs yesterday and could only eat one for dinner. Very very slowly too. I missed my 20 year reunion because I was 9 months pregnant. I really want to go to my 40th and see an old very good friend. I just need to drop a little to fit in a smaller size to feel more comfortable to attend.

Thank you for your kind words. I was eating 1200 calories until recently. I'm taking 11 pro bono capsules a day for bone growth. It's impossible for me to get my food in with those. They fill me up. I've been getting my protein in everyday. I make sure of that. Tennis is new for the last couple of weeks as I need an impact excercise for bone growth. I can cut down the biking which I did before. Swimming helps me relax. I'm trying to add more calories and have 2 protein shakes a day, trying to get at least 1000 calories in a day. I've been losing 4 lbs a month on a regular basis. I've been stuck with weight loss for the last few weeks.

    Freaking OUT!

Your doctor can give your anti nausea medicine. Tell the anesthesiologist that you get sick with surgery. You don't have to take narcotics very long and can soon to be taking Tylenol. Tell your doctor which meds make you sick ask if you need a drain, most likely not. Better to ask your questions call and speak the the doctors nurse, make sure she is a nurse. Tell your doctors your history with named sna d surgery so you can have a better experience. Ask if you may need a drain and how long for.
