Why is my bypass so different I can have taco shells, well tortilla chips and salsa. it's in my diet. I'm 7weeks out I just have trouble with meats though if I can't stomach tacos I can't eat meat period I don't like chicken, fish,or pork I'm damn near a vegetarian.

I am sorry but that seems much to early to be eating meat. Most people I know say 6 months for chicken. And honestly the first 3 months it is fine to get your Protein from shakes if meat does not work. Do not force it, it is rejecting it for a reason. There are so many options to get you through the first 6 months. there is no reason that you NEED meat, yes you NEED protein but it does not have to be from meat.

I would say keep trying each week. In the beginning my body rejected everything but chicken and fish and that had to be chewed to almost nothing. Now, I can eat most meats although when eating steak it needs to be tenderloin and the same is true of pork.
I still struggle some days with ground beef.
It is important to realize meat is dense so even now I can barely get 2 to 3 ounces max in during 1 meal. The thing is, if fills me up and keeps me full for many hours.
    Don't give up.

For the first year or so after surgery, your body is still undergoing changes. For example right after surgery I became lactose intolerant. So I could not rely on milk for my Protein. But after a couple months, my body changed and I no longer was lactose intolerant. So just keep trying and trying and much of what you ate before surgery will come back, but it may take a year or two. I am 32 months post op RNY, and I can now tolerate almost everything that I ate before surgery.

It is difficult to eat meat after surgery. Keep trying and eventually you should be able to consume it again. Here are some tips. A can of tuna fish in the beginning. If you want chicken, you must cook it until soft. For example take a chicken breast, add a bouillon cube into a pot with some Water and place on low heat for a couple hours. When the chicken reaches the point where it comes readily apart with a fork, then it is soft enough to eat.
Chili is a good way to start hamburger meat. It goes down much easier and also chili contains Beans that are high in Protein.
2 months post-op RNY is generally the point when you start solids. So the transitions to solids is often a little difficult in the beginning.

I had freaked out a couple of weeks ago when a pair of my size 14 jeans fit. They were tight but buttoned:). Two days ago they were falling off of me. I actually had to check the size because I thought I accidentally put on a pair of my old size 18. Nope they were the size 14:). A couple of months ago getting into those 14s seemed completely unattainable and now they are too big! Wow:). I love this!

Someone mentioned in another post that Pinterest has a bunch of stuff if you search bariatric recipes. I will be taking a look for myself as well. I hope this was helpful. Oh btw how much did you start out at? My starting weight was 350. Just wondering. Ttyl

She says I'm losing my butt lol I say it just looks that way because my clothes are so big. I look much more pleasant in clothes that fit:). But either way it is for my health and if my butt goes then so be it!

I have lost 30 pounds since the surgery, and 50 overall (50 to go). Here are my favorite non-scale victories:
Being able to cross my legs!
Being able to sleep on my stomach again!
Being able to run without pain in my hips, knees, and feet!
Being able to shop in the Misses section of the store!!!!!!!
Being able to do a sit-up, or paint my toe-nails, or tie my shoes without my belly causing all the air to whoosh out of my lungs!
So pleased to be able to share with all of you!

Going on 5 weeks Post Op!!!!..I'm so excited And I feel AMAZING!!!!! I've lost 52pounds from Surgery Date of November 10th 2015!! I haven't measured myself but I know I'm down at least 2 pants sizes ????..I almost have my Protein Shakes down packed to where they are tolerable. So now my thing is finding the RIGHT foods, my stomach rejects a lot of food now such as mashed Potatoes or softened Beans and more???? so I'm wondering, since I'm going to start Stage 5 of the Diet, are there any food suggestions or recipes that you guys can share..it'll be very helpful.????????

Fiqah87 reacted to tera1982 in Puréed stage?
Hello fellow sleevers. I am newly sleeved(12/08/15) and am on puréed stage. I've tolerated cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and tuna with 1tbps. Fat free miracle whip well. I've tried scrambled eggs, turkey, and cod(in the hospital), which went just okay. chicken with 1 tbsp. Fat free gravy didn't sit well. I felt sooo sick, like a big old rock sitting in my stomach....not gonna try that again for a while! I almost feel like the colder puréeds worked better with my new/still healing tummy. So my question for you that have been through this already is what did you eat on your puréed stage? What worked? What didn't?

I also ate some corned beef hash from a can it was very soft, some deviled ham in a can

My nutritionist at my first follow up appointment said that nobody comes in and says "Yeah, I have been drinking all my Fluid and getting all the Protein in too." Your pouch is likely still swollen and sore from surgery. I would say do the best you can, but it not good to cause yourself to feel sick or in discomfort.
