  1. Are you restricting food? That may explain the migraine. Sneezing is no big deal, but as Tssiemer1 says, if you're feverish ten that may be an issue. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  2. It sounds like she had trouble separating her own experience from yours, maybe? I saw two psychologists. The first was in my town, she was an older lady. Her 'office' was in a tiny room on the second floor of a scary falling down house that had converted into offices. Apparently this was her temporary office while her regular office was renovated. There was clutter piled up to waist height, with a path between the door and the desk, old pictures, dead plants, old heaters and air conditioners, piles of papers. Her desk had more dead plants, papers, and ornaments. I paid my copay by check, which was added to a pile of other checks. It's been 4 months, the check hasn't been cashed yet. She quizzed me about my mother's dieting habits while I was young. For 50 minutes. She said we needed a few more sessions. I didn't go back. My second psychologist works from the same hospital as my surgeon, they knew each other. I was there 45 minutes, in his clean office surrounded by clean glass. He asked me what I was expecting, what I'd tried, what I thought. He was pleased I'd done so much research into the procedure, the outcome, and the surgeon. I paid my copay by debit card. They're all different. If you don't click with one, or they insist on more sessions you don't need, go find someone else. If they approve you anyway, just chalk it up to experience. Avoid them in the future, but don't let it put you off seeing a mental health professional when you think you could do with someone to listen to you properly! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  3. I was so sure I'd have more of a battle, it's a shock to be approved and have a date! Now the reality is gradually settling on me and the worries are making themselves known. My current biggest worry is a surprise, after so long wishing I wasn't so fat, I'm now honestly worried about being slim, like I'll miss being fat, or won't know how to dress or act. I thought I'd be worried about the surgery itself, but I'm not so far. That will come, I'm sure. I'm worried about diet before and after, I'm trying to see it as divorce from an abusive relationship, which helps. It will be strange to have to learn how to cook and eat again, and how to enjoy family meals in a new way. I'm married with 2 children and I cook from scratch every day. None of this is new, I know, but it's new to me! Please feel free to tell me to shut up and deal!!
  4. It's a good question to ask your insurance company. I may just be lucky, but I called mine a few times to ask variations on this question. My PCP ended up writing a letter with monthly weights over 6 months, giving information about things I've tried to lose weight. My insurance waives that 6 months if you have comorbidities such as heart issues, diabetes, sleep apnea etc, so it's worth you checking. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  5. I also have no pre-op diet, though my surgeon said it's a good idea to use this time to practice restricted intake, as well as figuring out what supplements, shakes, Meal Replacements, etc, aren't horrible. A lot is due to my weight though, and my being a low-risk candidate for surgery. If I was heavier with comorbidities then a more strictly controlled diet would increase my chances for a simple and successful surgery. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
