    Optifast Side Effects

Hi Vickie I dont know of any support groups in Geraldton. I am happy to talk with you if you need support.
  3. Hi Fanny, I totally agree with you I have seen this guy a couple of times now and the first time I went he told me I need to put on 4kg and then last time at the same weight he said I could lose 2kg more if I stick to tuna and coffee basically. Im sorry I cant offer any help on a new fill Dr I just wanted to let you know I know what you are talking about. I have found a Dr in Geraldton to see now.

    Charlis Lap Band Journey, Perth

Thats strange that a lapband dr would hope that you come to your senses and pull out. Anyway you date is tomorrow so good luck and think of it as the first day of the rest of your life.

Perth Bandsters - your stories & successes

Angela my Dr showed me 2 lapband surgeries one with a fatty liver and the other after optifast, and the fatty liver surgery was quite difficult as there was a lot of moving the liver around to get to the stomach which also meant a slower and more painful recovery. I would do the optifast just for your own recovery.

    cost of surgery

I seen a surgeon about public banding and he told me the chances of being banded within 2 years was slim to none so I joined private health waited 12 months to the day and was banded and have not looked back. Waiting 12 months for private health to kick in seems like forever but it goes quickly.

Perth Bandsters - your stories & successes

Wow Thailand I didnt think it would be safe. Do you know what kind of savings are made by going overseas I really want work done but I know it will be a long way off as it would be selfish of me to expect so much money for myself when there are so many other things we could spend money on. I need an full body lift my butt reminds me of a sharpei dog and the rest......well Im sure you get the picture. Wouldnt swap the weigt loss for anything though I love it.
  8. I always start the post op steps after a fill just for a shorter period of time. Liquids for 24 hours then slowly ease onto mushy food like runny scrambled eggs then start working in harder food. I think you need to give the band and your body time to adjust to being tighter. I always find that I feel really tight for a few days then it eases off. Hope you feel better soon.

I will join too. My mind and body were both in the right place and the weight just fell off, Im not going to apologise for that. Good on us
  12. Hi Lellow, Thanks for letting me see your album. You look amazing what a difference. I really cant wait until I can afford to have the surgery, at the moment I can hide it pretty well. If I had to choose one place to have it done I would have to say my arms cos they are the only part that I cant always cover and everything is always sleeveless.

Good on you you look great

I have also lost more than is generally expected, my Dr said that most people lose about 50% of their weight I have lost all in less than 12 months. I also lost a lot of hair in the first 6 months and My Doc said it was because of the shock to my system of losing so much weight it had nothing to do with malnutrition. I am happy to say as my weight loss has slowed my hair has grown back just as it was. You have done well and if your Dr thinks you are healthy then thats the person that knows.

What happens when you reach goal??

I am pretty much at goal and I have been at a stage where I am not gaining or losing for about 5 months I think you just find the right balance of fluid and stick to it. I think I am ready for just a little more just to keep me on track as Im starting to snack more than I should. Hope this makes sense and helped a bit

    Help with foods

Cant eat red meat unless minced at all, even when it feels fine when I eat it, the next day I can still taste it and nothing else will go down until I get rid of it. I have given up trying and can still eat chicken and fish (lots of fish). I have become a creature of habit since the band I only eat what I know, every day since school started I have had 2 cruskits and a tin of tuna for lunch but it doesnt bother me and I dont get bored and lots of salad and stir fried vegies, it seems to be working I have reached my goal and havnt moved for 6 months.

    fills

_Posted this in another thread but nobody replied, any aussies have some advice for me?_________________ Do I need a fill????? permalink Last October I had a slight unfill as I felt I was too tight and it was the best decision as I could lose weight and keep food down. All has been going well until the last couple of weeks I have started to feel slightly hungry and looking for snacks. I have booked another appointment but Im wondering if I was too tight last time will I be the same this time, I dont want to be so tight I rarely eat. Does the band change or loosen over time? my husband is telling me I shouldnt have anymore but my head thinks its time for a fill. What do you all think? __________________

Just checking in to say hi

Thanks Tully, I feel pretty dam good right now. My life has really opened up because Im not wondering if Im too big to participate anymore. Next week I am going to a fancy dress birthday party, the old me would have said what a stupid idea fancy dress was and not dressed up (mainly because I probably wouldnt have found a costume that fits), the new me is very excited to be going as a naughty nurse. Mind you I have stepped up the exercise a little just to make sure that it fits properly LOL. Good luck with your surgery it is the best thing you can do and worth the wait.

Thanks for that Lellow. The last time I seen Dr Watson I asked him for some names and he said he would post them but he must have forgotten so I might just make some enquiries with this guy. My big question is how much? if you dont mind answering.
