I'm two weeks post op now. As many do, I struggled taking anything by mouth especially for the first few days...no vomiting but just felt super super full after about 1oz. Anyways, after going home, I worked really hard on drinking - but shoot - as you know it was difficult. I think at first I was able to get maybe 30-40 oz per day of Water plus Protein shakes etc. but I'm a 6'1" man and accustomed to drinking at least 100oz of Water per day normally.
Since being home I've been dizzy and hazy whenever up on my feet - just generally terrible. Awful. My blood pressure was running low and my pulse was running high. I thought maybe I was getting dehydrated or maybe wasn't getting enough salts in - but I couldn't seem to get to feeling normal.
Well this week at my first post op appointment, my blood pressure was very low (at least for me) again my pulse was over 100. They sent me down to the infusion center almost immediately for IV fluids. I felt a little embarrassed about it at first - but dang, as soon as they started putting it in me, I began feeling better. They did 2 liters in 2 hours and ever since then, I've felt great.
They were super nice and just encouraged me to try to keep up going forward. I feel like it was just a really good bump for me; like a boost up to stay ahead.
Since then, I've been getting 60-80oz per day and feeling much much better. I'm really not dizzy anymore at all - and thinking much more clearly. Beginning the pureed stage today so that makes me feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Overall I'm down 50lbs since May 2015 which is when I decided to pursue WLS. About 15 of that is post surgery loss. Hooray!

Ha what a title..No sleeves for My sleeve. Yippie.Yesterday at my Jazzercise class I actually wore a racer back- tank top? I don't know the name but it shows your arms. AND it was a size large. I havent worn something that shows my arms in over 15 years. except for a bathing suit maybe. I had a sweater over it at first till we got warmed up then I peeled it off. No one gasped or passed out looking at me..but I felt awesome. two months out and these things are magical to me. here is a pic. still high from this feeling.. So tired of hiding behind tents of clothes. feels good. I was up to a size 20 and moving comfortably into a 22.. So blessed that I was able to have this surgery. Happy new year to all. It will be a sweet 16!!! Here I am sweaty and happy after workout!!

I am officially 3 weeks out today(sleeved 12/08/15). I am having a very difficult time keeping anything other than Greek yogurt and cottage cheese down. I have also been eating small amounts of sliced cheese because my new tummy can tolerate it and I'm so hungry. I am taking Omeprazole and don't have any typical reflux, I eat very slow(chew, chew, chew and time my meals out according to surgeon), I stop drinking 30 minutes before, nothing to drink during, and nothing 30 minutes after eating. I am starting to feel like a bulimic throwing up everything I eat. I am going to be calling my surgeon tomorrow because I don't want to wait until my one month on the 8th. Any suggestions? Anyone else experience this? I am not even close to my Protein goals with just the Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I am managing to get in my Water. I told my surgeon I was throwing up at my two week follow up, but at that point I was only on puréeds and only really having problems with eggs, which he said is a very common issue with eggs. I am on soft foods if I didn't mention that before, but if I can't literally put my fork through it, I don't eat it. This is not fun!

Oh yes. Have you woke up in the middle of the night vomiting stomach acid? I have. It sucks. My doctor put me on a prescription called pantoprazole. I take 40 MG of pantoprazole twice daily. It's a very affordable medication and currently its free with my insurance. After I started taking this, all of my heart burn and acid issues went away. There are some nights I forget to take it and sure enough, I'll know as I'll wake up later in the night choking on stomach acid.
I had tried over the counter stuff but it wasn't really effective. Hope this helps.

I'm a diabetic and my mom was too. After her last amputation she died soon after like her dad. That's not going to be me.

5 months out and I've lost 75 lbs. this surgery saved my life my heart is at 45% and before the surgery it was only working 40% not only am I losing the weight but my heart is improving as well. I am extremely blessed and only because of my Heavenly Father. Merry Christmas everyone.

Well I'm finally feeling like a person again. I was finally able to force myself to get the fluids in plus the Protein Shakes. But has anyone else had problems with reg. (Skim milk 90 calories )?
I have so I switched to powdered Protein and cashew milk yesterday , but I think I forced myself to drink too much Fluid too fast and was up till 5am cleaning and exercising to get rid if gas pains in my left shoulder and indigestion . Ugh! Never do that again. So I've only sipped 8oz crystal light so far. And about to get on treadmill for about 15 mins then try the Protein powder and cashew unsweetened milk (25 calories ) and take tiny sips super slowy and see how it goes.
