Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

I am 5'10". SW (Dec 8th) 297 CW 220 My lowest weight ever was 135...super skinny! My goal is around 160 maybe 150. At one time 170/180 looked great on me but I figure now that I am older(38 ),I may need to be a little under.

    I need advice

My dietician and bariatric coordinator told me my goal should be 1oz every 30 min for 16 hrs. That wasn't happening so I try to just sip all day but it still feels stuck and I am not getting enough down. My other concern is that I basically went without nutrition the five weeks I was in the hospital because I was allergic to the feeding tube formula. But I don't feel like I can get any Protein in right now and just need to focus on getting hydrated. No they didn't prescribe any anti-inflammatory meds to me.

    STENT REMOVAL

Sorry you've had a hard time. My GI surgeon used clips to repair the leak I had. Hope getting it removed goes well!

    I need advice

So for those who dont know I was sleeved on Dec 8th. Everything went wonderfully for a week! And very suddenly I started having pain in my belly and left shoulder. Well to make a long long story short...I had a leak and an abscess. I had 3 additional procedures and after they finally were able to drain 900cc's of infection out of my abdomen I started to recover and the leak was repaired by my GI surgeon. 5 weeks in the hospital was really difficult...but I just kept telling myself there were better days ahead. Ok so now to my questions. I've lost a total of 69lbs since being admitted to the hospital. I am home and struggling. The thought of having to go back scares me. But I can't get more than 6 to 8 oz of water a day. No protein/no food. Every time I swallow anything its so tight its painful. I know I am dehydrating. I have asked my Bariatric surgeon and he says its inflammation. Any thoughts at all as to what I can do to get myself on track?

    Oh the complications...

Here is a quick update: I am still in the hospital (yikes an entire month now!) which of course has been pretty rough...especially on my kids. But anyway...they did a procedure today where they clipped and cauterized the hole. The hole was less than a cm so hopefully this mess is finally coming to the end!????
  9. I was sleeved on Dec 8th. I felt so great the first week! I was home cooking for my family, cleaning and lost 30lbs! On Dec 15th I had my JP drain removed and it didn't hurt at all. The next morning is when the pain started. Severe, sharp, breath-taking pain on my left side. Tried to convince myself it was gas...but nothing helped. By that afternoon the fever started. My husband called my surgeon,by that time I couldnt speak, and he said to go to rhe ER. After running every test known to man they contacted my surgeon the next day. I was transported back to the hospital of my original surgery and as soon as I arrived was prepped and sent to the OR. The source of the pain was a small abscess they put in a new JP drain...but could not find a leak. The barrage of antibiotics, tests and pain meds that follwed are all a blur. But a week later the pain came back. A new much larger abscess was found. In went two more JP drains and out came over 900cc's of infection within a two hour period. I am currently on a feeding tube...might be there 2 weeks or up to 3 months. I have a PICC line, oxygen etc. Tomorrow will be three weeks since I was admitted. I missed Christmas and my parents visit from Miami...all a haze to me. I miss my kiddos so much! I may get to go home next week if I continue to improve and tolerate the feeding tube. I see some light at the end of this mess! So ready and excited to get back to the fun stage of losing weight and feeling good!☺

    December 8th Sleevers......

Yikes! Drain? Is that normal? For my doctor it is. He leaves a drain in for a week. It is a surgeon's preference. I am really having to learn this sleeve I drank too much too soon and feeling like crap.I have a drain for a week too! My surgeon does not perform a leak test? Did yours? I get te drained removed next Wednesday. Yes mine does. I wasn't allowed even a sip of Water until after the test. My drain comes out on Tues.

Don't feel bad...I am still here too. They said I was too dehydrated to leave. I am not sure how since I have had 4 bags of fluids since yesterday and am getting in 2 oz of water and an oz of broth every hour.
