Take 10,000 mg Biotin every day. It will help a lot.

Mine did -- started during Month Four and was pretty much over by end of Month Nine.
The majority of WLS patients do have hair loss. But it's not life-threatening, nor is it really so noticeable to anyone but us. Women notice it a lot more than men do, because our hair is longer than theirs, and our long strands in the shower are so much more visible than 1/2 inch or 1 inch pieces of hair that slide right on down the drain.
This is not something you should over-worry about.

My parents were so against my surgery due to worries of what could happen to me during surgery. I understand where they were coming from and NOW they are my biggest cheerleaders! Today they gave me a Alex and Ani Bracelet that says "HERO" with a beautiful card with so many amazing things they said. Knowing they are proud means the world to me. Being able to call them and tell them my milestones is a blessing. I am proud of myself. My husband and sons are cheerleaders as well but these two people who gave me life and are able to watch me change my life in a positive way while being do encouraging just brings me to tears.

I am not juicing now. I did that last summer. Weighed this morning and the 5 lbs I gained last weekend is gone. So I'm down 11 lbs post op. Still slow but I am encouraged today. I put on a blouse that was tight before surgery and it hangs longer and the sides are actually loose. So I can tell I'm losing inches if not lbs right now. I am going to stay off the scale. I ordered a body measuring tape and a friend who also had bariatric surgery to take my picture each week to see my progress. I think that's better for me than the scale. Thanks for all your advice and support.

I gained 5 after surgery, lost that then a few more pounds. I hit a stall at week 2 & 3 post op. The scale would go back & forth 2 to 3 pounds. I got really discouraged but decided to keep track of inches lost. Even though the scale wasn't moving, the inches were still disappearing. When I had my month follow up & weighed in this past Wednesday the scale dropped lower than I thought it would. I lost 10 on the pre op diet & 22 post op. My surgeon told me the typical weight loss expectation in a month is 10 pounds.
I have always been the type of person who constantly checked the scales, but now I check it once every 2 weeks & I check the measurements once a week & sometimes only when I weigh in. Keep a journal & track your progress it is encouraging to see that progress laid out in front of you.

I've been on the 2 week liquid diet & have lost 20 pounds. These last couple of days have been the hardest, but I keep my mind on Monday. It will be here shortly. Good luck to everyone!!! ????????

I am on the right next to my 16 year old daughter I am wearing her clothes now hehe. Size 8-10 and medium shirts. Pre surgery I was size 24 pants and XL shirts.

I am 3 days post op. Very sore where the largest incision is. Sipping fluids and walking around as much as possible. Anyone else have a weird feeling when they are sipping fluids?

When i sip if i wait a few seconds i feel something in my stomach move. I think its the stomach lol. Other than that everything else seems ok.

We did it! I had a full day of buyers remorse in the hospital doubting my descision. But I am feeling great now! Sore still and stiff in my back. Sipping constantly! Lol

My personal opinion:
May not be the popular vote but... I think most people harp on the Protein bandwagon too strongly-
I was never as high on protein as others told me I should be-
In fact I'm actually 100% vegan now and eat no animal products at all--
I am about 18 mo out and I'm down 160 - started at 319 and I am now 159-162-- bouncing right now
I feel so much healthier than I did- u will be just fine
