????????I'm lying in my bed waiting for my doctor to come talk with me before surgery...I'm excited!!!!????????????

Smileygal - Feeling much better today! It has been a tough 10 days to say the very least!
My sister and I were both sleeved on the same day.
We move onto puréed stage on Thursday - cannot wait!
We have both lost quite a bit, myself 7kg and my sister 10kg.
Lizcan - size 14?! That's amazing! Congratulations!! How are you going eating wise?

The first 2 weeks after surgery all I had was regret, I was so sick and miserable. But as I've recovered more I don't really have any so far.. I am the same, wish I didn't have to do it but I saw no other choice for me to get healthy..

I'm only 8 weeks out but I see the difference  

So I am headed to Vegas next week with my hubby and I thought, you know what....I want a more-sexy, less-mom bikini for this trip. SO I went out on a limb and ordered one from Victoria's Secret that I would normally never, ever think about wearing, let alone, buy, let alone post a picture of me in it.
But then today I was looking back through some old beach vacation pictures and I couldn't find one single picture of myself in a bathing suit or with my kids at all. Through 4 summers worth of pictures that I got through, I found ONE. One single picture and I'm trying desperately to hide behind my kids. It made me so incredibly sad because I remember so clearly what that was like. Can I just say, it is freaking amazing and freeing to be able to feel good in my skin and not feel the need to pull a kid in front of me when the camera is around.
Here is the ONE single picture I could find, along with the quick snapshot of the new bikini for Vegas. :-) (Don't mind my scar sheets from my TT sticking out...this wasn't a picture I intended to share), as well as one snapped this summer at the beach. I also did a side-by-side comparison of myself in basically the same "at the beach with my daughter's" pose. Just thought I'd put this out there for anyone on the fence about the journey or the process. It works if you stick to it!!!!!

I am finally in the 30's with my BMI, 39.8, and excited. So not sure if that is or is not an NSV, but I'll take it. I know I post how slow my weight loss is, and still feeling it could be better, but excited BMI is in the 30's. I think when I first started, May 2014 my BMI was 49. I did my 6 month requirement for the insurance, which finished in Nov 2014, but had a work injury on my knee and fractured my wrist, so took a break from the program, then started up again April 2015 and finally had the surgery 8/3. Thanks to everyone for their responses, and I love reading these posts and everyones experiences.

You're fine. I prefer not to weigh myself at home because it makes me crazy. I try to only get weighed at the doctor's. Sounds like you are doing okay. Just keep it up.

I miss drinking from a straw! And I miss French fries...what I don't miss:
Not being able to fit in a booth at a restaurant.
Not being able to cross my legs.
My size 26 pants (down to 16/18! Yay!)
Not needing a seat belt extender on a plane.
My blood pressure & diabetes medicine.
.....I'm sure there's more but these just popped in my head!

I don't miss much.
I thought I would miss taking Motrin but I honestly have not had a single headache since surgery which amazes me.
I thought I would miss Pasta, potatoes and rice but I get so full from my Protein and non-starchy veggie that I don't even really think about it.
It is funny that before surgery the lifestyle we live seems like we will miss so many of those bad habits that got us to where we are, but in the end it is not really an issue. Life is so much better and I have so much more energy so far that I am forging a better relationship with food. Hopefully that new relationship will serve me well going forward and get me to goal.

I'm three years out and I don't miss anything. I think I used to miss drinking with meals, but not anymore. I especially DO NOT miss obesity and all things associated with it. Such a good trade-off for the things I gave up and thought I would miss.

I've heard heating pads can help with the pain too. Maybe try alternating ice and heat?

I was discharged yesterday and everything went swell! Got my sleeve and the doctor fixed a hernia that I had and he removed my gallbladder which I am very thankful that he did because apparently I had a couple big gallstones. I'm healing just fine and all but I'm hurting so much on my left side. I've been walking here and there and icing it when I lay down which helps a lot. I'm so excited to pass this phase and ready for phase 2. Just wish this pain would stop already!! >_

I am 6 months, 10 days post op and I am down 128 pounds total. This isnt a very great pic since I have been sick, but i still took it because anything is better than my before!!

I checked in for surgery 0530 - surgery 0630 - checked out same day 230. Overnight stay is not required for sleeve. I'm 6 days post op had my first appt w doctor. I'm 11 lbs down, walking 12k steps a day and feel great !! No pain meds. Stay active, follow your plan and stay positive. Positive mind, positive results ... CW 228, GW 120
