If you're developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis----blood clots) in your legs, MRSA will be the least of your problems.
Grab your inhalers and your Protein powder and GO TO THE CLOSEST ER.
That is the only advise I have for you. Anything else would be medical advice and that I can not give.

When you don't feel self conscious eating in public. I can't be sure it wasn't all in my head, but when I was obese and ate in public I would get lots of disgusted stares coming my way.
The other day I was eating on the train as I was racing between meetings. I apologised to the person next to me. They looked me up and down and said that I looked like I needed it!
It is really, really weird having people see you as a thin person. And it is very sad too that you are treated differently...

In less than a month that I've been a member of this group, I have already noticed some major differences in the requirements Frein surgical teams. For example, my surgeon does not require a pre-op diet at all. But there is another surgeon in his office that does. There are some surgeons that require a post-op Atkins diet for life while others will allow the patient to eventually incorporate carbs. I had to meet a NUT last week that wasn't my regular NUT, due to a scheduling issue and I noticed that both NUTs, even though they are from the same office/team, they both had very different ideas and expectations. My NUT pushed Protein powders and bars. The other NUT was against those and only wanted patients to get Protein from food sources.

OP, did your surgeon give you any photos of your sleeve? I was given a couple and found it extremely useful to be able to see how massive the surgery was. Knowing what sort of wound I was healing from made me terrified to eat anything off plan and be very gentle eating anything on plan.
If your wound was on the outside of your body would you pour Coke Zero on it? I think you might have chosen Water. It seems to be a real problem that because it can't be seen, the trauma of the surgery is easily forgotten.
Maybe have a google of what a post op sleeve looks like and consider that whenever you are faced with a craving that is not in your plan. Those photos were burned into my brain. Best of luck.

BCs 1000 reacted to provenzee in Post surgery Food Addiction/Binge Eating Disorder
I had a similar issue happen to me when I was about a week out. I was still on liquids, and my family decided to have a huge party. The food looked and smelled amazing....I had to sip broth. I cried in my bedroom alone and was miserable. Everyone was eating and having a great time.
I promise, it gets easier once you can actually eat. I am currently five months out, and not too long ago my family had the same type of get together with all the same foods. Everyone was complimenting how good I looked because I lost so much weight. I ate what I could of the foods that looked the most appealing to me (I had a meatball, 1/4 of a burger with no bun, and a few slices of cheese). You will feel so full once you start solids, you will not want anymore to eat once you've reached your cap.
I still get cravings, and I still fail and give into them occasionally. The best advice I can give to help is if you are craving something to the point where you think you might break, go eat four ounces of dense Protein immediately. Find chicken, tuna, ham, whatever you have and eat it. You'll be full, and feel satisfied, and there will be no room for the stuff you wanted.
    Good luck!!

I have been reading these forums about 5 years; I am 4 1/2 years post revision to sleeve and maintaining a massive weight loss - so one of the cranky vets around here.
My primary comment is that your surgeon's guidelines do not fit, even remotely, the "norm" based on what others have shared, what I have read on websites of major respected bariatric centers etc. While we do each need to follow our program to maximize success, I really question whether a month of Clear Liquids acheives anything. When I read the details of your program it looked like a plan to maximize initial weight loss - but that won't work if you can't stick with it! Besides, in my experience, the real power of the sleeve is that time period when you begin solid food (for me it was around 6 weeks) through the period of time when your hunger returns (for me, it was about 8 months post op). Tiny amounts of solid food were all I needed to feel great, and lose weight during that window. It helped me change my relationship with food, but suffering through an extended liquid diet would not have done that.
I am not sure what I would do in your shoes because you do need to follow a program, but I would not be happy with your program either.

a month of clear liquids - YIKES.
I try to think of it this way - in terms of food texture - if your arm was seamed up the side, which would feel better against that incision - a Protein drink or cottage cheese, or a slice of crispy bacon- and the answer is obvious, the liquid or cottage cheese would hurt less against that wound. well, the inside of your stomach is a wound like that in the first month.
you'll get the hang of it. I understand the sleeve is a whole different feeling than the lap bad was.
how much do you need to loose after your conversion?

We have 2 more weigh ins (including this week) and so many are crushing it with their goals. We are 772.4 lbs from our collective goal.
I have seen quite a few posts about stalls and frustrations etc so just know – we have all been there and we are all rooting for you! You can do anything you set your mind to – and remember – the scale is just a number… I know I personally have a hard time remembering that. I did my weigh in for 6/27 on 6/27 and met my goal for the challenge and I was super excited. I weighed on Friday and I was up 2.6 pounds. It made me upset, but it gave me pause to re-examine what I was eating differently or exercising differently – or come to a decision I was in a stall – Well – I ate off diet a few days when i went back and reviewed – so that was a wake up call – and helped me go back on track – I have decided to look for NSVs (non scale victories) while I get back to weight loss. And yesterday I was able to do a new walk/run path with hills (and running) on it that I had been avoiding and I am SUPER PROUD of myself for that small accomplishment. Before my surgery in March I would have been exhausted just looking at the hill. So for all of you in a slump or perhaps will be a little off after the 4th of July holiday – Keep in mind that it a marathon not a sprint and you are AMAZING just for starting the race in the first place!
Have a great and healthy week!
