I'll have to find my messages box. Maybe if I log in on my desktop computer. I'll check tonight.

Thank you! We discussed bypass mostly. He said the sleeve was an option but from what I've read so far I prefer the bypass.Welcome @@amanda0930
You will certainly find tons of info and lots of guidance here!
What type of surgery did you discuss?

Hi there! I had my first appointment with the surgeon today. I have a 3 month supervised diet to go through where I have to lose 17 pounds. I will also have to do labs, EKG, a meeting with a nutritionist, and the psych eval. Seems pretty standard. Looking forward to this new stage in my life.

I hope that I don't get sensitive to spice...I have loved spicy things ever since my first pregnancy. I know everyone is different but I just made 30 pints of spicy salsa!

Looks good. I haven't even met with my surgeon yet but I that would be good for my physician supervised diet. Thanks for sharing.

I am meeting with Dr Graber 9/14 for my initial consultation. Did any of you go through him? If so, I would love to hear your feedback.

My PCP referred me 2 weeks ago, but I don't meet with the surgeon until Sept. 14. This is something I have been wanting to do for about a year now, but there were no approved surgeons on my last insurance plan.

Hi all,
I got a referral from my PCP to see a surgeon this coming September. I have been reviewing my insurance and they want 6 months of a physician supervised diet within the past 2 years (which I don't have) plus 3 month pre-op diet. They say that I have to show at least a 5% loss during the 3 months but if I lose more than 10% they could extend the physician supervised diet and postpose or deny surgery. Has anyome lost too much on their pre-op diet and been denied?

How did that go? What kind of requirements did he have you go through?
