I HATE exercising! What Should I do?!

Get your favorite music and walk. Where I live there's a bike path. I started just walking to the corner which took me 15 min. Thank God there are benches, I had to sit and rest before I got to corner. But now I walk further never thought that would happen . Also we have a prep program that the dr recommends for excerise mostly everyone that participates are WLS very supportive trainers just start somewhere after while it will become second nature

    African American Sleevers

I'm a sista and so far soul food had been ok with some modifications. I made baked macaroni n cheese for my family over the holiday they raved over it. I used pasta called dreamfields 2% milk shredded sharp cheese the pasta has 7 grams protein I think. Greens digested ok but I was a little gastric, no meat in greens broth meat had to much fat. So far hair is natural but dry sometimes but keep hydrated , take vitamins deep condition ,no breakage so far according to my hair dresser . No fried foods I do miss my fried chicken ,fried fish but hey who needs that extra fat. I grill, bake, broil. BBQ ribs ok I took my own lean meat to cookouts my friends love my fresh fruit salad . I'm 10 months post op lost 75lbs. My struggle is writing down tracking what I eat portion control . For me to get this 30lbs off by March 1. When I do I would have lost 100lbs on my 1yr anniversary . Soul food is ok depending on how it is prepared/portion

Sexy granny, someone told me to get the app diet coach . It has been very encouraging and helpful to me. It has all sorts of things like an avatar you can dress, help keep track of water intake, daily diary, emotions, which is my favorite because I'm an emotional eater sometimes. You can set it for reminders also . Hope this is helpful. I had a slow weight loss at last dr. Visit only 9 lbs in 3 mos. But I made some adjustments , increased my excerise but still have difficulty measuring my food intake.

Ugh why can't this be positive?

Be encouraged this is your decision and your life. Sometimes I think they are just afraid because it's major surgery. Go for it , I'm 6 mos post op and now the family see that I'm serious and successful . I had family members eating healthier and cooking healthier. My children and grandchildren encourage me to excerise. I feel great and my Drs reports have been good. I've been taken off one of my blood pressure medication !!

    Craving

Margie I feel you, with all the summer bbq's. It was tempting with all the food around. I refused some invites but the ones I did go to, I distracted myself with other activities , music, dancing good excersise just enjoying my friends. I ate mostly meat in small amount and veggies. I drank pro tie shake before going. I think that helped a lot. We can be successful with consistency .

    Bingeing after the sleeve

I had a binge period of eating potato chips and fried foods. I had an follow up appointment with my surgeon. He recommended I speak with dietian and that was a help. She recommended I attend monthly support group. I'm having difficulty getting to meeting. But I found this site where we can talk about our journey. I refuse to fry food and find different things to snack on. I carry a small like lunch bag around with me filled with snacks. I try not to shop when hungry. I brought a indoor grill to help keep me from frying food it cooks pretty fast. I fry food because it's my comfort. Atkins has protein snacks that are really good when I want something sweet. I journal for myself to keep track of my emotions when I want to binge. I know that I generally binge when I'm upset frustrated or pissed off about something. For me writing it down is accountability . By that time it has passed/ trigger is gone. I hope this has been helpful for you. Don't be discouraged , I sometimes have to go meal by meal. Old habits are difficult to break but can be broken with consistency.
  11. Fried foods # 1 comfort for me. I new to conquer this old habit. Any suggestions welcome.

    Avoiding cooking fried foods

Thanks for the input about fried foods. Good news I brought a indoor grill. And I'm looking for good oven fried chicken recipes on line. As my use to tell me something's you have to change and get use to. For me it's doing away with fried foods. I'm happy losing weight and making lifestyle changes is part of the process. So out the door with fried foods, hello to melting pounds away.
