  1. These are all so great! Mine happened today at work. I was in the hall talking to another teacher who is "normal" sized. After she left, a friend came up and whispered in my ear... "Your butt is smaller than hers!"

    2 questions

I have a horrible habit of swallowing my gum, so I've had to give it up. Just seemed like a bad idea.
  3. Shapers, etc, can definitely help. Your dr can prescribe cream and powder (nystatin) that can help immensely, too. It's important to document your issues with your dr so that insurance might cover some of your plastics.

    Hair loss

I really don't think there's anything you can do to prevent it. People will say get your Protein in, take Biotin, use special shampoo, etc, but it's going to happen. To what degree? Who knows. But it will come back. If you're lucky enough to start out with thick hair, likely no one will ever notice but you and your hairdresser. There were days (about 6-8 months out for me) where I could not believe how much was coming out! I can wrap the ponytail holder 2 more times than before, but no one was the wiser. And now it's growing back. Wishing you all the best in your journey.

    Sleeping on your stomach

I did within a couple of nights - on my side at least, propped with a body pillow.

    Your favorite food storage containers?

    Argh. Pic didn't show.

    Your favorite food storage containers?

My mom got me some cup sized glass containers with plastic lids. I think at Walmart? They came packaged in a clear plastic sleeve with 4 of them together, I think. I love them, because the portion size is perfect and I'm not microwaving my lunch in plastic (I take the lid off and cover with paper towel). ETA: these are them.

    Michigan sleevers

Chiming in re: Beaumont docs. I had Chengelis and he was great, too.

    Hystetectomy

I actually had to hold off my sleeve surgery for 5 extra months to have a hysterectomy instead (cancer). Once I recovered and they determined I needed no further treatment, they ok'd my sleeve. I haven't had any hormone issues that weren't expected (really just some hot flashes which are much easier to deal with without all the extra fat).
  13. Wow! That's fantastic! You are off to a great start!
  14. If you can't do chunky fruit yet, you could try a little lite applesauce or jam mixed in. Whatever seasoning you like for savory. Good luck!!
  15. So I just went through my closet and purged EVERYTHING pre-sleeve. (Except one reminder outfit and a couple sentimental things) I literally have nothing from my past that I can wear. I am about a size 14 right now, down about 100 pounds and still in process. I haven't been a size 14 since school - and that was more than 25 years ago! I have donated about 20 bags of clothes! But I did keep my old HS jacket!! It feels so freeing to be rid of all that old baggage!!

    After 4 years.....

That's awesome!!! So happy for your continued success!!
  17. Yep. Totally. I lost 100 pounds and am in a size I haven't been since school. I still have a hard time believing it and that I could get even smaller. It's so hard to wrap my brain around

    Does anyone know...

My understanding is they absorb better. Not all other meds come in chewable form or work well that way.
  19. I've got to give you my stats early - heading on vaca and won't be able to weigh Monday. CW 219 Challenge Goal 210 In weight loss phase (hopefully!) Thanks!

    Post op vitamins

I'm 8 months and have been having regular blood work all along. I get a B12 shot every 6-12 weeks and take a multivitamin daily. No longer on iron or calcium as my levels are good with my diet. That's it for me!
  22. If you had my insurance , you would be approved after a six month medically supervised diet program. The six months really is not a big deal. You'll need to have a bunch of tests run anyways, which takes time and I found that time to be great for learning a new lifestyle. I lost 60 pounds during my 6 months (actually took me 11 months to get there due to a little cancer delay). Best of luck on your journey!
