Anyone from the New Jersey area?

Hi Ladies...my name is Valarie and I live in Old Bridge NJ. I am 10 months in for my gastric bypass. My start weight was 242 pds. I am now 174 pds. Wearing sz. 8's...mediums, some smalls. Would like to get to 150...although I may look sickly at that weight. I am fearful of gaining my weight back because I'm not doing the right things. I exercise but my eating is slowly returning to the old ways. I know the right things to do...don't want to do them...if I gain this weight back I will b soo ashamed of myself. God blessed me with this tool...I have to figure out a way to respect this gift. Soo many people are not fortunate to have the surgery like we are. Just needed to call myself out where I am. Blessings on the new baby and your journeys...I'd like to stay in touch

    New Jersey support

Hi Carla, my name is Valarie. Thank you for your story. I too have had gastric bypass. I am 10 months out. So far I am down 79pds. I too agree that it was the best decision I've ever made. I now can eat most things I could b 4 the surgery with no dumping. I can tolerate more food. This scares me because I don't want to gain the weight back. Getting my head and stomach to match is a daily battle. I'm sooo scared of the weigh gain that I can't enjoy where I am now. I live in Old Bridge, NJ...I am going to do two shakes and a meal tomorrow...get back to my basics. Thank you...oh...I too work out...love that...mine is eating...

New Jersey 8 year post op

Hi Carla, my name is Valarie. I had my bypass September 13th of last year. I was 252 the morning of the surgery. Mine was perfect. I've healed nicely. I am currently at 174 pds. My Dr. Is encouraging me to eat regularly...I have started to add some things that I haven't eaten and I have no sicknesses from them. I'm concerned I'm gonna gain my weight back. I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers.

    I won't regret this...right?

I know those jitters! Don't let them stop you from living your best life. I had my bypass Sept. 10th of this year. I am 54. In three months I have lost 52pds! It is still by far the best decision I ever made! Soooooo glad I didn't listen to those jitters! Let's do this! My prayers are with you!
