Dearest Katie, there is no war here or need to attack. Step back and realize I can be your grandmother, aunt, or Mother. I feel really bad that you think people are here to attack you but I assure you it is not true. Please embrace the knowledge, leadership, guidance, and love here. It is priceless. Pescador got a reaction from Frustr8 in Hair Loss
five years post sleeve. I started losing my short thin hair at 5 months. It lasted two years before some regrowth. I was forced to buy a wig, lifesaver two years. I did everything right with Biotin, Vitamins, Protein, quit coloring my hair, used the Fiber crappy thing to sprinkle in your hair. Lost hair at my temple which never came back. My hair is manageable the past two years, but still fragile. I lost 18 lbs. in the at 6 months. My hair is now coming out like crazy again. I don’t care what you do, it is the luck of the draw. You might never have this problem and wave it off, but some of us will always have a hair problem. I wear a visor a lot, and have my wigs handy.

Pescador got a reaction from Frustr8 in Wife not Supportive
My husband went to WLS 20 years. Overweight his entire life. I supported him fully as the calls to Rescue we’re becoming more frequent with his diabetes, heart, BP and sleep apnea. In fact, I qualified for the sleeve with my diabetes, asthma and HBP. He was scared. I went first. It was a piece of cake, a few hours in the hospital, no pain pills, and walking a mall a few days later. My husband knows this surgery saved his life. He is down 100 lbs, He loves living, , traveling, and buying clothes. I was only SCARED he would NOT have the surgery!

Pescador got a reaction from logicwand in Rate Of Weight Loss, Those Starting Under 200 Lb?
I seriously got back to basics about six weeks ago to try and lose more. Drinking one or two shakes a day, and eating greens and Proteins. I have lost five lbs. but the scale is stuck. I pretty much eat right, but a lot of trips to the Gulf Coast, and wonderful seafood, was my downfall. Last night we had Snapper sautéed in a bit of olive oil. I will not give up, but it seems no matter how little I eat, the scale doesn't move.

Pescador got a reaction from logicwand in Meal delivery services
My husband and I were both sleeved and meals are a thing of the past most of the time. In the fridge, I keep salads, smoked salmon, chicken salads tuna, low fat cheese, Protein Shakes, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, etc. We prefer to eat when we are hungry, me early, him later. Last night I had a delicious boiled egg. Tonight we will eat together and have fresh Florida Wahoo. I really think meal planning would be cumbersome and wasted on us. One other staple is lean baked meatballs, topped with a T. Of homemade Marinara. It works well for me and my husband.

Pescador got a reaction from FluffyChix in Hair Loss and Hair Extensions
I took Bioten, the placebo, I did everything under the sun to save my hair. Quit coloring, everything! Five months to 1. 1/2 years, thank God I found an awesome wig. An extension would not have helped the Hair loss around my face. I survived with visors too, in the Florida heat. Happy to have a healthy head of hair now, three years later. I thought I would be lucky, NOT.

It gets worse. I starve myself, no carbs in this house, and I cannot lose a pound after regaining 30 lbs.

I took nothing. I was there 8 hours. They give you non- slip socks to walk in. I never once had the urge to look at a phone or iPad. Surgery, sleep, swallow, and Headed home. Good luck!

If once didn’t solve my weight problem, damned if I would do it again. I would not go through the Hair loss, Vitamin deficiencies, etc. I’m done.

Pescador got a reaction from ristharp90 in Advice for surgery day and recovery?
My husband and I were 67 when sleeved 4 years ago. I spent 8 hours total in the hospital, I didn’t need a thing. I went home and took l pain pill and that was all. I drove to the store the second morning after surgery. I walked in the mall for two hours, four days after the sleeve. The only thing I can recommend is don’t stock up on stuff. I threw out a ton of stuff we never got around to using, like Protein Shakes and lots of expiration dates. I remember Torani sugar free syrups, all flavors, worked wonders with vanilla shakes. I never even felt I had surgery, if it hadn’t been for the little bandages on my stomach. We were never nauseated, it was just a good experience. The anticipation was the worst thing.

Pescador got a reaction from Hananbasta in 1000 calories per day...HOW?????
My husband has kept 100lbs and kept it off 4 years. He sipped low salt broth a lot between meals. You need to focus on a hobby and believe me there will come a time when you won’t have restriction. Make this time count now.

Pescador got a reaction from LillieDuFran in Almost Seventy
I just turned 70 and had my sleeve at 66 with my husband. It has been life changing and we would do it again in a heartbeat. 15 years of WL seminars for him, and I led him to the fire. He is so thankful, happy, and 100 lbs. lighter for the rest of his life.

Pescador got a reaction from LillieDuFran in Any tips for recovery?
The Fear is real. After the sleeve it was like YIkes, what will happen. Lol. Nothing happened. The little bandaid places on my belly all but disappeared. I would say eating and chewing SLOW is the hardest part of this process.

This is so refreshing to hear. I'm having surgery on Wednesday and have to stay overnight in the hospital, but I'm fine with that. I had the lap band done, zero pain, had it removed, zero pain but sore and got an abscess, which was worse than the surgery times 10! My surgeon said the sleeve would be a piece of cake compared to my 3 hour lap band removal because my stomach was adhered to my organs via scar tissue. Not fun!

Age 67, no nausea, my husband and I and no pain. We expected to feel like we had surgery. Neither of us had issues or even felt we had surgery. Four years ago. Like walking on eggshells til you realize it was a piece of cake. 8 hours in the hospital and home!
