Could you explain to your surgeon that you need the procedure done in a limited time frame and ask to be fast tracked

I have both type 2 diabetes and pcos and I am going with rny I know my surgeon is skilled and my team is awesome so I trust them completely

I have had my band for exactly 9 years as of yesterday and I had an upper gi done yesterday due to issues with dysphagia, severe acid reflux and weight gain. Four weeks ago my surgeon removed 1cc of Fluid and that has helped with the acid reflux severity at night but hasn't gotten rid of it entirely. I had no restriction and gained 15 pounds in 4 weeks ???????? However yesterday at my appointment after my upper gi, my doctor told me my band looks good but I have a small flap that could be considered a small slip but it's not too much to worry about yet and that my pouch is asymmetrical and bigger than it should be. He said that we are going to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or I don't lose any weight more weight that we may look into a revision. He suggested a sleeve since my bmi is "low" (my bmi is 40). Wouldn't I qualify for bypass since I have co-morbidalities? (Sp) I'm so afraid of surgery now that I'm older but I'm also afraid of gaining all this weight back. I lost 80 pounds but I've gained 35 back just in the past few months

My pcp is awesome and works with my surgeon in a capacity that is awesome I love my surgeon she is so personable and we work out with her if we need to

Massages are awesome speaking as a massage therapist they are super awesome for your health

Yeah I my moment came in church when I joined the dance team and had to wear the adult dress because the kids was to small

As far as the massage goes try to book one with a local school that offers it as a deciplin because its usually much cheaper than a spa and you help the kids practice I am a massage therapist and those people who came in offered valuable lessons

So after some soul searching I have decided that I am going to do a few more months of meetings with the nutritionist and prepare some more. I just don't feel ready for this big change just yet

Hey just reading your post and I think you said on one of the letters it said blue distinction center well that's apart of my policy as well not all centers are there are usually a select few in your state that are I actually had to switch programs because of that. Google blue distinction centers in your state and if your hospital isn't listed then you need too go to one that is

My insurance requires 3/6 month supervised diet. My Dr put me on diet pills a little over a month ago and I have lost 21 lbs as of the 24th of Feb. I am changing my eating habits because I have to for surgery and I just found out I'm diabetic, but is that a problem that I am doing well on my new low carb diet? If I continue to lose weight like 10-20 lbs a month am I disqualified? I'm able to because of the diet pills. I can't stay on them forever. What should I do? What would you do?

I gained 32 lbs during my 6 month wait (which turned into 11 months for various reasons) ????????. I started the process at 212 (I'm 5'1") and I was 244 when I had surgery.
I was still approved.
I'm 4.5 months out now and down 65 lbs. I wish I hadn't gained all that before surgery but I'm glad to be rid of it now.
I have only thrown up twice 1 time because I could not handle a crushed medicine right after surgery ???? and the other was because I drank immediately after eating a meal without thinking.
My only regret is not doing this surgery sooner.

@@Dub - thanks for bringing up this topic. I'm about to hit my one year anniversary and I'm realizing that I really killed my mattress when I was 100 pounds heavier. I've been looking at new ones and this is helpful. When I had a compressed disk, my physical therapist convinced me to learn to sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs to reduce stress on my back. it took a little while, but I finally relearned how to sleep. Occasionally when I throw caution to the wind and sleep on my back or stomach I pay for it the next morning. So I will tell you it is possible to learn how to sleep in a new position. That said, I was at one of my old girlfriends place and her temperpidic bed was great. So I would suggest before reinvesting in a new mattress, check and see it changing sleeping posture works. If not, then a sleep number might be better. I used to have one and the pillow top version was great. That's why I go to Hilton Garden Inns exclusivity when traveling (if you didn't know, they have them in every room, and as a 50+ year old who travels a great deal, any extra expense is worth it)

My daily Water intake is goal 64 oz (about 2 liters) plus the extra liquids from food.
Try increasing your Water intake, if that doesn't work I'd call your Dr.
