I buy the vanilla ones at Sam's club, I mix it with instant Folger's coffee and a tiny bit of Torani sf hazelnut syrup and have it with ice. It helps me survive life

Awesome! Thank you so so much everyone! I love how there are so many people here for me Zucchini noodles would be amazing, I don't want to put anything in that'll swell or be weird lol. Exactly what info. I was looking for.

Does anyone have experience with shirataki noodles? They're almost no calorie and very very low carb. I'm almost 8 weeks post-op RNY and I'm looking for some variety. How would a newish pouch handle them? I'm worried about them swelling but otherwise I've heard great things about them. If anyone has had them please let me know how it went

So much pain! Please help! - Incision Photos included..rough
Klolojadie replied to Klolojadie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
That's exactly what mine ended up looking like & it turned our I had a small internal bleed behind the middle incision, the reason for the severe pain was the pressure of all of the trapped blood behind the skin. As soon as that got better everything else did too, now I'm 7 weeks or and feeling better than ever before! -

I had a hard time with the movie too. It seemed like their bariatric programs were lacking (especially the banded woman) and to watch the other woman be denied when she's almost 500lbs is CRAZY! The experience of these women was nothing like mine so I guess I couldn't relate too well. I'm still glad I watched though, everything I can learn from I think helps me in my journey. -
8 days post-op, no weight loss and I can eat without pain
Klolojadie replied to etab4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my first 10 days after RNY I had gained 10lbs! And that is on calories only from protein shakes (approx 300 cal per day) BUT I wasn't getting enough water so I was retaining water like crazy. In the beginning I also sort of felt like maybe they didn't really do the bypass. I couldn't get all of that water down though, but when I started transitioning to purees I felt like i could keep eating and eating if I wanted to (luckily I didn't try it) and now that I've been getting some texture I really really feel it. I feel it so much that it's hard to believe how little I'm actually eating and feeling full. Everyone is different in the beginning, but these strange things happen to everyone. My surgeon also had me try to start purees in the first week home. Full liquids and loose purees for 7 days. Every program is different too. Congratulations on your surgery & hope you're feeling great now! -

So Many!! 6 weeks out from surgery and loving life! Walking and working out without pain. Not losing my breath when walking up the stairs. Fitting into a size 18 jeans for the first time in almost ten years! And finally, I'm able to look at the coming months with positivity, knowing that many things I've struggled with are just going to keep getting better and better. Health makes all of the difference in the world as far as quality of life goes I couldn't be happier that I've made the decision to do this. Even on my hardest days, the struggle is nothing like the previous one RNY is not an easy thing to do and each day there are challenges I've never had but the experience is priceless. -

Yes, guacamole is awesome & I've been eating avocados but of man I want crunchy. It seems so unnatural to only have things that don't seem fresh. And pickles..oml! I've even thought of pickle juice to get over that craving. In so hoping that once I actually am allowed, that I'll actually be able to tolerate everything that in dreaming about. Salads for DAYS!

As painful as it is at first, walking helps more than anything else. It helps the pain go away faster and prevents blood clots from forming it's very very important. -
The Learning Curve of a New Pouch
Klolojadie replied to bugsy72's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Definitely the toast and hard boiled egg, too dry and hard and it sounds like they got stuck before your body was able to "signal" any type of fullness to you. I had a terrible experience with eating the egg out of a Dunkin Donuts wakeup wrap (which looks like a half of an egg) I ate about half of it. I can eat an entire poached, fried or scrambled egg at home. Apparently it was a FAKE EGG! It blew up in my tiny pouch like a sponge and it hurt so bad, my mouth was watering, I threw up three times while I was at Sam's Club...not cool at all. BUT I did learn since then that my "signal" has nothing to do with a feeling in my stomach! My nose starts to run when my pouch is just about full. SO WEIRD, but thankfully it happens! Since I've noticed this weird thing I've not overfilled my pouch since. Our bodies get so crazy after surgery. -
As much as you need to to make sure you are getting at least 60 grams of Protein per day. At first protein and Water are going to be the number one things that help you recover. Congrats on your recent surgery! Things will get easier and easier

I'm almost 5 weeks out from RNY and I'm craving fresh fruits and vegetables so so bad it's an obsession. Before surgery, I was worried that I'd be craving sugar or baked goods, bread, pizza (junk) basically, but no -WAY! I'm spending literally hours of my day obsessing over crunchy fresh fruits and veggies. Everything I have to eat is cooked to death soft meats or Protein shakes and cheese. I'm so tired of animal products and lack of texture. How in the world do you make it through to 12 weeks when you can have raw crunchy veggies again?! I'm in need of some green peppers (crunchy) Carrots (crunchy) cucumbers (crunchy) even tomatoes full of juice and seeds just with some salt....a pickle..some lettuce...a piece of deli turkey with some crunchy veg rolled into it. I'm dying here

Sliming and Throwing up
Klolojadie replied to Madtownsunshine17's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Chia seeds swell up so much. If you put like a tablespoon of chia seeds into about a cup of Water within a half hour you'll have about a half cup (or more) of swollen chia seeds. -
Dehydration is most likely

Did you say "what did I do" !
Klolojadie replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 days out! December 16th.You're not alone! I am still in pain!! The left side is brutal! No regrets. I keep telling myself this is only temporary. You have to endure the storm to get to the Rainbow But.... This loud constant stomach rumbling?!! It's loud like a sink emptying. And feels weird!! Anyone else?? Is this normal? Yes! The first time I took a sip of Water and this rumbling happened all I could picture in my mind was a small funnel emptying. It was so strange (I had RNY on 12/14) The loud noises have stopped but I was in pain for a long time.
