I was on the lap to sleeve revision journey until I sat down and did my homework and really thought about it.For me I look at it this way...Inhad the choice at the time back in 2004 andvI went with "The hot new trend and flavor of the month "The lapband".....misery,failure and pain......I am now if given the right opportunity going to choose the bypass...,.I am going to go for the Gold!!!! Finally!!!:-)

I am looking forward to receiving my cpap.The dr said to use it until I feel I no longer need it.

Slow is better than gain...

Don't be afraid to get a second opinion or change surgeons.

It's just hard...revision and over 50 with PCOS ugh...

Yes...losing is so much better than picking up around or 2 every few weeks....and I don't miss any of the torture of the band.I can eat anything but I have been real strict...no breads,no starches,no rice or potatoes,pastas etc.I only have organic steel cut oatmeal in the morning.Otherwise,protein and vegetables.About once a month I may have a serving of Beans or lentil soup....I have started incorporating nuts but this is no easy task....very disciplined....actually my struggle is with water... Slow

That's it!Thats all they need to know!You are on a diet.Just making lifestyle changes and Guess what that's the truth!No more needs to be said!!!

I have had a lapband since 2004.The only ones who know are my parents.I like it this way.No questions no judgements,no failure.

Revisions ...weight loss at a slower pace but steady...I am also in my 50's with PCOS...I am so happy with RNY my only regret is why didn't I go this route from the start!!!!:-)

Yay...its out!!!!!I would do the same....just to be safe....hospital will monitor you....November will be here in no time!The Gold Standard once and for all!!!!

I have been miserable with this band since day one .I had it in 2004...lost 35 pounds and now right back to where I started.....Up until this week I have been trying to talk myself into the sleeve but after My upper GI today...the radiologist showed me my reflux on real time and that it!! I want a revision to the RNY...no more hesitating....I want the "Gold Standard".No more quick fixes...I can't afford ulcreration or sleeve leakage and I need to lose about 125 pounds...Bypass please.
