    Drunk feeling from eating sugar?

Pre-surgery I used to experience "drunk on sugar."
  2. I'm 5 1/2 months out and haven't found anything I can't eat.
  3. I am taking care of myself this holidays - not participating in the family Thanksgiving drama. Instead, going on a short trip with a good friend. For Christmas, I will again excuse myself from most of the family drama, and instead be grateful for the many blessings in my life.

    Just got my dates

Congratulations! Getting the Gastric Bypass was one of the best decisions of my life.
  5. I'm getting the Error 502 Bad Gateway indicating a Host Error (Website offline) when I try to read the thread - Gastric Bypass Forums - Sixties - No one in the sixties? started by GrannyKathy on Oct 8, 2012. Thanks
  6. I would like to know more about the amino acid and other tests performed. Did they do a paper or have a way to share that information?
  7. My energy didn't start coming back until I took B12
  8. I'm 3 months out and down 49 pounds from 240 to 191. I'm 5'8" and my goal is 140. My surgeon didn't require the liver shrink diet - so all the weight was lost after surgery.

    Need help, quick!

Remember, not all surgeons require the pre-op diet.

Is Eating Fruit Like Eating Candy?

I eat 3 frozen grapes every night instead of ice cream. I feel indulged and have still lost 45 pounds since surgery on June 7.

    Got my date and time...but

For the liquid stage I relied on Water, sugar free Jello and broth. For puree I used organic baby food and blended oatmeal with a little milk. Because I was feeding a very small stomach, I didn't need to purchase much. Good luck on your surgery and your recovery. Having the bypass has been an very good experience for me.
  13. I hope you can see this. My Windows10 upgraded yesterday and now Bariatric Pal site is a mess. I've lost the formatting.

I have fund Munro to be an excellent brand for dressier flats. I also use Nordstrom because they carry so many sizes and widths. Congratulations on your success and courage!

    post op

Congratulations on your success! According to my surgeon, I should never be eating more than 1/2 cup of food at a sitting. Welcome to BP!

    Post op feelings

I am 64 and had gastric bypass surgery June 7. Had complications and a 2nd surgery on June 20. I have not felt the "up and down" hormonal craziness that I remember from menopause. I have had minor increases in sexual desire - never a bad thing and a little trouble sleeping.

    Not very limited

My surgeon started me at 1/4 cup per meal - growing slowly to 1/2 cup per meal.
  19. Please do check yourself in to the psych ward if you can and the sooner the better. Always get yourself the best help you can as soon as you can. Take all your meds with you,

    Baby food

My nut said yes. I get Ella's brand from Amazon.
  21. I didn't like Greek yoghurt before surgery, and now I am hooked on Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurt (in black container) vanilla.

    Losing too quickly?

5% per month may just be the average of 100% over 20 months.
  23. @@Daisee68 has a good point. Even though I didn't resort to hand weights, I did find that adding shoes, heavier jacket, etc, as needed helped. At the last weigh in I had a 2 pound window to make and I did it!

    Nausea & Vomiting

I learned that there could be strictures or obstructions in at least 2 places. One is at the bottom of the pouch as the linke provided by James explains. The other is where the remnant stomach is attached to the intestine. I don't know the official name of this joining, but it is where I experienced trouble. Liquids would pass thru the pouch, but couldn't make it past this lower joining, so I experienced bloating and nausea before vomiting up everything. After several CT scans, my surgeon performed a 2nd surgery, 2 weeks after the bypass, to remove adhesions my body was creating in this area. Wishing you the best of luck.
