Got my date this morning: September 30.
I guess that makes me a September sleever.

I am self-pay and am aiming to schedule my sleeve for the last week of September.

Mine is...Sales Associates. Mostly in higher end retail stores. When I was heavier...and needed help...no one was ever around. Now that I am much thinner...I have sales people (men and woman) falling all over me. I can't take 5 steps without a sales person asking me..."is there anything I can help you with." I have lost and gained weight many times...and this is something I have noticed each time I lose weight. It makes me sad for my heavier self. And anyone else that is discriminated against like this. My income level does not change....with my weight.

I have a few:
Taking flights where I was too embarrassed to ask for a seat belt extender and then spending the whole flight with an open magazine over my lap to hide the fact that my seat belt wouldn't fasten, and then ordering my own extender online as soon as I got home Not being able to kayak on our family lake vacations because I can't fit in the kayak Having to buy and take my own life jacket to the house where we spend our family lake vacation because none of the several already there would fasten or fit around me Sitting in a wooden chair at someone else's house for book club and hearing a crack when I sat down I could go on and on, but those are just a few.

I was about 2 months & 5 days post op and was down 50 pounds in this photo.

I went to Cedar Point amusement park over the weekend and I fit into every roller coaster that I tried! Even the little tiny ones. I've been fearful of trying roller coasters for years now! We also met up with family members whom I haven't seen in a couple years and I received many compliments (including the classic "you better not lose any more weight"). I still have about 75 lbs to lose but it was nice to hear. I also walked 28,000 steps that day (my personal best) and my shorts kept slipping down, even with a belt. All in all, a good weekend!

Atlanta Bariatric Center at Emory Johns Creek is $11,000 for surgery and anesthesia.
I know it's not exactly close to Calgary, but Atlanta is a major airline hub, so flying to Atlanta is pretty easy and there are good deals out there.

I met with my PCP this morning and discussed the idea of surgery. He was totally in support of it. He said that the patients of his that have done it have had great results.
He said that I am ideal candidate in his opinion, because I have a lot of excess weight and deal with just elevated blood pressure and cholesterol. He said since those are my only issues (aside from, obviously, weight), he would be happy to clear me for surgery. He said for the surgeon's office to just let him know what they needed from his office and they would take care of it.

I'm looking to be sleeved at Northside too. I live in Brookhaven, and my parents are just down the road in Sandy Springs, so it makes sense to check out doing it at Northside first. I have an appointment with Dr. Paul Macik next week.

Weighed in today and I am finally in the 100 club! 101lbs lost since my VSG on Feb 9th. I have had a hard time with what foods I can eat and tolerate but now I feel comfortable with eating and know my limitations.

My sister has the Jawbone Up 24 and loves it.

Last night I went to class at the gym where I've been going for a few years. A guy friend was there who's been gone since February and when I walked in he asked the trainer who that was. Hello! How awesome is that?! I was never someone who turned heads but it seems to be happening enough that I'm starting to believe I do look different. Such a friggin head game this weight loss surgery!

I totally get it. I have lower back issues, and my knees are a little creaky. I'm sure that has to do with weight.
I was like you in my 20's--just not in the right place. Now, just a few weeks from turning 37, my mindset is different and I think I'm ready to do something. Of course there's the problem of my crappy insurance and money, but for my health and a better life for myself, I will find a way.

Hi everyone. I am brand new here, as in I joined maybe 20 minutes ago and this is my first post here.
I haven't made a firm decision about surgery, but am definitely leaning that way. I just signed up yesterday to attend an information seminar at Atlanta Bariatric Center at Emory Johns Creek in a few weeks. I've already done a lot of research, and am so excited by the possibility so I can't wait to read here and see everyone's insights.
