Cranky snappy and no filter sounds perfectly normal to me, but don't much like the sound of melancholy. Maybe you are tired? Whatever it is I hope it passes soon xxx
  3. Hope this resolves itself soon. Like everyone says walk, walk and then walk some more. I've got all this to come next week........eek!

    Hello :-)

It's lovely to wake up knowing I have you all here to chat to. I had a bit of a bad day yesterday but thankfully nothing to do with sleeve/surgery. I had my pre-op which went well and has made me feel a bit more comfortable about where I'm going, staff etc. They were all lovely. I also met the anaesthetist and told him my main concern about the whole thing - my crowned teeth being damaged - they have literally cost me a small fortune! I'm guessing if that is my biggest worry things are pretty good. I feel very excited about the future and being well enough to enjoy it. Good luck to everyone whatever stage you are at! xx
  5. I'm delighted to say I have a date for my sleeve operation - it's 25 August. I would have liked it to be sooner as this date will be a bit difficult with regard to care for my granddaughter and help and support for me, but I do want to get things under way. From everything I have read on this forum I have no doubts I am making the right decision!

    Hello :-)

Hi to Snooks - you will love it here, everyone is very supportive! I'm just off for my pre-op appointment so will be in touch again later .......
  7. Woo Hoo - Go girl! I think you are great! Total inspiration and SO glad I met you when I did xxx

    A week left....

Absolutely agree with that Yullz - if it wasn't for people here I would have driven my family crazy!

    A week left....

Me too - I'm getting mine of 25 August. During the day I just feel excited and can't wait to get on with it, but once I'm in bed I start to freak out a bit. It's a good job I am busy over the next couple of weeks or I would be really over thinking it all. I also keep clicking on some rather less than positive posts, which isn't helping!
  10. Well done on the calendar Sharon and I'd like to wish you loads of luck with your operation! x
  11. Me too!!! How exciting - whereabouts are you? I'm in the UK.

    Hows Everyone

Great to hear things are going so well - I've just sent you a message. My advice with the tractor is to make sure you have your phone with you, so you can call hubby for help.

    Hows Everyone

Glad you are feeling so good! I'm getting my house in order ready for my Big Day. From your recommendations I've just done a big shop for 'stuff' that I think I may need. Soon I will have spent as much on vitamins, protein etc as I have on the operation, but I do like to feel prepared. There was also quite a long delivery date on some things, so good job I have ordered them now. Speak soon x

That's such a lovely message Pippinleicester - thanks so much! I can't wait to be where you are! I found out this morning that a friend in Australia was sleeved four months ago. She's only told a small handful of people, so I'm looking forward to being able to chat to her soon. I've just seen a photo of her and it is unbelievable! I think I've mainly been focussing on the actual operation and haven't really thought too much about how much weight I will lose, as any weight loss will be good. Thanks again for your encouragement
  15. I've just joined and don't, as yet, have a date for my sleeve but have realised with the NHS it may be some time away. I was just wondering if many people here have, or intend to, pay for their sleeve op. Look forward to replies!

Great to hear you are doing so well, as it is still very early days. I've created a Ticker for my signature to help speed things along a bit! I have a busy week with my family next week, followed by hospital appointments the following two weeks and then the Big Day. If my op goes half as well as my UK sleeve buddies I'll be very happy!

Hi Pippinleicester - It's nice to hear from someone further down the road. I'm having my op on 25 August, so it's great to hear from someone who is doing so well!
  18. Like Kate I was told the waiting list is 2-3 years to have the op with the NHS but my GP said that realistically, as I don't have any health problems, it would be nearer 10 years - I definitely can't wait that long so have opted to have the operation done privately.

    Group meet up?

Shall we all post whereabouts we are and then try to identify somewhere fairly central? Ooh, how exciting! I'm in Norfolk, which isn't near anywhere!

    Group meet up?

It's a great idea to meet up. I don't have my op until 25 August so, for me, it would have to be a while after that. Did you have anywhere in mind? I think we are all spread fairly far and wide! I hope your recovery is going well!

Go girl!! Will be thinking of you and look forward to hearing how you get on xx

    New here

Me too! My date is 25th. Where are you having yours done?
  23. Hello Whyiell, I'm sure it's natural to be nervous but I don't think there are many people who regret having the op. My date is 25 August and I am more excited than anything - perhaps the nerves will come later. Where are you having your op done? There are areas of the forum that offer support for people living in different parts of the world, many who get their operations under insurance schemes. I'm in the UK and most people seem to pay for their own. I went to discuss it with my GP and was told there is a waiting list of 2-3 years, but realistically, as I don't have any health issues, it would be nearer l0 years! I definitely can't wait that long! Good luck and let us know how you get on!

What you wish you would have known

Hi and welcome to the site. My op date is 25 August - I can't wait and have absolutely no doubt I am doing the right thing. I have, however, just found out that I will have to have blood thinning injections for around 21 days after the operation - self administered! Bit of a surprise but hey ho!

Great to hear you are doing so well Chris. Are you taking any vitamins? Long term I hope to be ok by eating a healthy, balanced diet as I know I would forget to take the vitamins. I'm hopeless with taking tablets for anything! I do recognise I should take them at the start, so can anyone recommend any good ones sold in the UK and would I be able to get them on prescription?
