My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 8 !! I am so excited - and starving...This pre-op diet is no joke !!

I'm officially in the October Sleevers Club and I'm bouncing off the wall!! My surgery is officially October 13th! It could've been the 2nd but I actually am hosting a birthday party. Don't think I didn't think about it either but I quickly became realistic. I'm so freakin excited! I can't wait to feel like I have the energy to chase after my life, my dreams and live my life to the fullest without the burden of this extra weight. Everything seems to be lining up in order for me to be successful at this...THIS TIME! I'm ready!

I am nervous about having everything I need at home and accessible since there's no one to help me post surgery.
I don't have a lounge chair or whatever you call a BarcaLounger that I've heard some people sleep in whist healing. I'm a stomach sleeper so this will be tricky. Also I want to make sure I have all my Water and Protein handy.
Any suggestions?

I was planning on taking one week off of my desk job. I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly enough for that. I am low BMI so possibly that will help.
I've heard of people taking a month off. I'm not quite sure how I could do that especially since I'm not planning on telling anyone the real reason!

I could've done a cartwheel if I knew how and wasn't afraid I would break my wrist! Hate that my surgeons office close early on Fridays! I'm ready to get the ball rolling! Ready to CHANGE MY LIFE!

Making and posting videos is very easy. I started out with the mini iPad I used at work.
Now I use a combination of my Android phone and video camera and a tablet.
But any smart phone will do.
Your videos can even be directly uploaded to your Youtube channel from your phone.
I make too many mistakes/pauses/lose my thoughts/say "ummm" to do a direct upload, so I edit my videos in Camtasia first. That is the most time intensive part.
But all of it is very easy to learn.

I'm so incredible frustrated with the amount of time it is taking my surgeons office to submit my information to my insurance company! Don't tell me you are going to submit on one and you are no were near close to submitting!! I was so upset earlier today it had me in tears!! I just want to get this train moving! I'm trying to be patient and not think about it but when you are ready to have the surgery YOU ARE READY! I felt like going to the office and faxing the damn papers myself! Ugh! Hope this doctor hurries up and give his portion so it can be on its way to be approved!???????????? #Frustrated

It doesn't matter if her surgeon explained this to her or not or whether or not she remembered or if you believe her or not. She asked a question and that is what this forum is for...to get help from others going through the same thing. You receive SO MUCH information while going through this journey that it is almost impossible to remember everything while dealing with your own emotions. Answer the question posed and leave out the slick remarks/responses. At least that is how it is coming across and how she took it. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if someone responded that way to a question you posted. @@gabbisha Call one of those numbers your team gave you for any questions. I haven't gone through the surgery yet but what I hear and see commonly is that drinking while eating is a big no no. That video that was posted helped me understand the reasoning better. I've been using "waterlogged" to track my Fluid intake, and "next bite" to help me slow down while I eat. Using that, it's taking me 15-20 minutes to eat 2 oz of a soft Protein like cottage cheese or eggs. I am only 8 days post op, but have found both of these tremendously helpful!

What were you trying to accomplish by posting what you posted on this thread? If you weren't going to help her why say anything at all? If you have nothing positive to add to this thread then why comment with something negative? Seriously...since you know and remember everything you were told, help a sista out instead of in some aspects bashing people. Be of assistance and value. Your comments were really unnecessary and not helpful at all. Find some compassion for others. Just keeping it real.....

Gabbisha, I was told it flushes the food out of your stomach. Therefore you eat more. I know when I have gone out to eat and sit for a long time and have some liquid, I eat much more than I normally could.
And please don't let people that obviously don't know get to you.
