  1. Looking to see where everyone is so far and how they are doing plus....I need some help! Had a gym knee injury that threw me all the way off track. I still need to lose another 35lbs to be at my goal weight so I am looking into low carbs and some gym motivation. I used to go 4-5 times a week now I am having a hard time getting it in once especially with a new demanding job. Any help is greatly appreciated. Drop some before and after pics as well too!

    January 2017 sleevers

Hey there! I found your pictures to be very motivating. I had my sleeve done October 2016 and lost 65 lbs initially and have gained about 15 lbs back. I know I am not doing what I should be doing. I had an gym knee injury after already have my ACL replaced that kind of threw me off my journey. My goal is to lose another 35 lbs. I see you are doing the low carb or no carb thing and I was thinking about that myself. Do you mind sharing some tips, what to eat and what not to eat? Whatever you can share is appreciated. I just need to find my groove again so I can finally meet my goal! Thanks in advance!

  4. Hey ladies, I've been doing some research about planning my family (naturally vaginally without drugs) and I came across something suggesting that sleeved women are considered to be high risk and are suggested not to consider alternative delivery styles. Any feedback is appreciated!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hey October Sleevers!!! How is everything going? Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how the weight loss is going, How close are we to goal? Are we still motivated? Do we need some motivation? Is your stomach still talking out loud? LOL! Lets have an update!! Here are my stats: Starting weight/size: 264/ size 18/(1X&2X) Surgery weight: 255 One Month: 242 Three Month: 226 I am 203 lbs now and a size 12/14. My first goal weight is to lose another 23 lbs and then to evaluate were I want to be 10 lbs at a time. I did have a nice little stall for about a month and a half but when it broke I dropped 5 lbs which made me VERY happy! Losing this last little bit is proving to be very challenging but I am trying to stay consistent with going to the gym 4-5 a week doing weights 3 days a week. I can eat whatever I want without any problems though sugar makes my stomach make LOUD noises still! Let us know whats going on!
  6. Can I get a few people to tell me what to expect before, durning and after getting your gallbladder removed? Also, how long were you out of work? I have a desk job. I need lots of details please! Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    GALLBLADDER HAS TO GO!

Sounds like it. Sudden sharp pain in upper right abdomen, constipation, right shoulder pain, nausea, feeling gas, feeling bloated....just to name a few. GOOD LUCK! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm curious....at what point did you tell your girlfriend/boyfriend about your weight loss surgery? What was their reaction good and bad? Why did you tell them when you did? The guy I am dating now notices my small appetite. I always give him half of what I am eating or he notices I don't always finish my food. He made the comment the other day about being "concerned" that I wasn't eating enough food. I told him I was but that I just eat a little more often. Makes me feel like that conversation may have to happen sooner than I anticipated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NEW RELATIONSHIP AFTER SLEEVE SURGERY

Thank you everyone one for your opinions and the financial tips! LOL! They are respected and appreciated. I did tell the guy I was dating and now in a serious relationship in last night. I decided to wait until we were official and I told him even sooner because now I have to have my gallbladder removed and he wants to be there with me. I didn't want him finding out in the hospital about my sleeve and being shocked and confused. He was BEYOND very supportive and said that it didn't changed how he felt or viewed me at all. All he wanted to know is why did I make the decision to have the surgery and once I gave him my reason, he was fine with it and understood. I asked him if he had any questions related to the actual surgery and he said he didn't need to know. He just needed me to know that he is still here with me and not going anywhere. I'm glad I told him and it took a huge weight off of my shoulders. You never know how people will react or if they will say something that will turn you off and ultimately end things but it was perfect for me! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. Thank you for this! I didn't plan on telling him anything about it until we are engaged and/or married. I think the only way it would come up sooner is if something serious happened that would force me to tell him.
  13. I think it makes a difference. For me, I am 9 months post op so he only knows me in my smaller size and I am 20 lbs away from my goal weight. Plus, I think it depends on the closeness of the relationship which I think will make a difference in the response and support of them finding out you have had an weight loss surgery. Hope that makes sense.

  16. I only told a few people close to me and kept it to myself. I ended up having a hiatal hernia which has the same recovery steps as a sleeve so the few people who did ask me why I was out, I told them that...even my boss! About 4 weeks post op I started in the gym and so when people started to notice my weight loss and ask what I was doing I told them I eat way less than I used to eat and I'm in the gym 4-5 times a week which is very true. Good luck! I didn't want the judgement, watchful eyes or tons of questions. I share with people I want to share with and continue to enjoy the new me. Good luck! Mental Confusion!

Hello everyone! I was sleeved Oct 2015 and I am now almost 6 months post op and I have lost 58lbs. My goal is 80lbs as of now so I am almost there. I started off as an size 18 refusing to even look at a size 20 and a few days ago I bought a size 12 in old navy jeans when I realized the size 14 jeans that I had gotten a few weeks ago were starting to look baggy! I say all of that to say that even though I almost 60lbs down and have lost 3 pants sizes, when I look in the mirror, my brain doesn't quite register the weight loss. I mean I see some definite changes and I know into a smaller size but it does not look like 60 lbs to me. To me, I guess it looks like maybe 30lbs. I guess I zone in on what parts of my body I need to work on. When did your brain finally catch up with your body? Mental Confusion!

That is normal. It's your first stall. Your body is adjusting to the surgery and less calorie count. Don't worry, the next time you look at the scale you will have a big drop. Just make sure to keep getting your Protein and Water intake in. As soon as your doctor approves you to, start exercising. If you start early, it will be easier later. Start off walking and just keep going. Good luck and welcome to your new life! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
