I was sleeved 01/27/16 and lost 140 lbs.

I am honest with people who ask and honest with people who don't ask. lol I am not embarrassed or ashamed that WLS was the final route I chose. Anyone who is judgemental can F right off. Luckily I really haven't had anyone be anything other than supportive.

We will be handing out candy at my house. I just don’t eat any of it. As long as I don’t have that first piece I’m fine. It’s not a temptation for me. But if I take one bite all bets are off.

I was 47 when I had my sleeve and I just turned 50. I do wish I had done it sooner but honestly I wasn’t ready. I think I did it at the perfect time for me.

Honestly, I don't remember. It was right after my birthday and I had spent the week pigging out. I felt so fat and disgusting. I don't think there was any one thing I can point to other than I wasn't able to get myself under control.

Tomorrow is my first surgical consult. I am so very nervous. I hope he tells me I'm a good candidate for a gastric sleeve. I'm excited to get the ball rolling! I'm so tired of being so overweight. My back is killing me today. My weight is affecting my quality of life .I'm ready to be more active and enjoy myself when I go out instead of always being in pain.

I hit a huge milestone last week and finally hit 100 pounds lost total! I'm about 5 months post op and I lost about 30 pounds of that during the pre-op diet.
A year ago I don't think I would have believed that I would be 100 pounds lighter. I was a size 24/3X at my highest and now I'm wearing size 14/L!
I'm so excited about how successful this surgery has been. I've been working hard to follow the plan during this time and I'm just thankful that I've been able to keep up with it. I have about 50lbs left to get into goal range. The nutritionist thinks somewhere between 150-170 will be good for me. It's really unbelievable to be so close to that weight. I'm about 2/3 of the way there and I'm just hopeful that I can reach goal.

Best of luck! I was sleeved in January of 2016 and I remember the time leading up to it well.

Thank you everybody for the great support and inspiration and ideas. I'll be sleeved early January 2018 and am now researching as much as I can, reading all your stories and thoughts and questions and answers. Will probably get more and more active on this forum as time moves on and I get closer to the date - and after!
