    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

Hey all, I'm 5'2", and sleeved 07/23/15. I'm at four weeks post-op in two days. I haven't been losing any weight since the first week. I started at a BMI of 34 (176.5 lbs), and lost 12 lbs pre-op )2 week diet), and 12 lbs since surgery. Any of you with low BMI experience such long stalls (almost 3 week stall here) Thanks!!

    July sleevers?

Me too! Good Luck! Are you on Clear Liquids?Yes. Today is my first day on clear liquids. My bag I brought to work must weigh 20 pounds. I didn't know what to bring and I will have it for tomorrow as well. What are you having? I will say that the Gatorade G2 is tasteless. I have the fruit punch. Yep! I've been on clears for almost a week. The week before I was on full liquids. I'm having one of a few different protein powders mixed with water (one is a clear protein, and the other two are approved by my surgeon as clear), and beef or vegetable broth (so over chicken broth right now), jello, and water with crystal light or BCAA Splash (it's a branched chain amino acid powder. Aminos are what make hair...so I am trying to get a jump start on healthy growth before the brittle stage) I leave my home at 4:30 am tomorrow to fly to Mexico! Getting sooo close!!

    All the Alberta girls

Good for you! It's not crazy sounding at all. I'm going to Mexico too. The one I'm going to is a centre of excellence, but there are many hospitals there that I've higher standards than even here! I'm not allowed to have Vitamins until 5 weeks post op. I've heard they can be difficult! Hopefully the chewable ones work better. There are some you can mix in a drink too!

Haha you're not kidding!!! How have you been healing? Feeling okay? What's the name of this Jello? Yes...I'm already "done with" my "favourite" Protein shake. Tastes so good to start, then 20 shakes later, you can barely swallow it. I'm trying to fight the urge to buy a new container when this one is half full, cause I'm sure I'm not going to like either during post op!

I am pretty proud of myself! I'm a lower BMI, and I was surprised I still had to do it, but after researching on the reasons for it, I'm totally determined to keep the benefits of it in mind while I'm sipping my broth. I also really respect my surgeons point of view on the pre and post op care, so trusting her makes me confident in doing it as well. I dream of the day I can have a mashed carrot though! Haha

I'm from AB but recently in BC. I'm going to MX (LIMARP - Weight Loss Forever) in six days!!! Ahh!!! I'm on day two of my clear liquid week (just finished a week of full liquids), and I'm feeling pretty good!!

    Scared of carbs?

My WLS coach tells me to take the fibre content and subtract it from the carb content to get the number of carbs I should be calculating. This way you are keeping track of the refined/sugar carbs only.
  8. @@AfitRN2015 I start my two week pre-op (one week full liquids, one week clear liquids) this week too! Part of me wants to start early, part of me thinks I'm going to need the energy going in lol.

    July sleevers?

I created an alias Facebook page so that I could join a sleever FB group without the fear of anyone else finding out. I first created a new hotmail account, then a FB account. It took me less than ten minutes. I would recommend doing it that way so that it's more private! I have only told my husband, his parents, my parents, and my best friend. I want to keep it that way too
  10. A good friend of mine went to WLF to see Dr Liza Pompa. Wlfmedical.ca She had an amazing experience, and she's a skeptic at best. I completely trusted her opinions, and then did my own research. I've had no problems so far in my pre-op journey. They make is so, so easy! I was also able to get in during a two week time frame that I requested. Check them out!

    July Journey

Could you add me too? Lanamac2.0 I'm getting sleeved July 23rd. In a Canadian going to MX. I created an alternate FB to join because like many, only the closest ppl to me know about this journey of mine. Thanks!
  12. @@Remix I'm a Canadian going to MX too but mine costs 15,598. Big difference. Where are you going exactly?
  13. I feel like I can't sleep cause I have to read anything and everything about the pending pre-op diet to the long term post-op experiences. I'm a lower BMI but have lost just as much of my "life" as I would at a higher one. I'm ready to get back to the life I was supposed to have, and start over. I'm nervous to be home with my kids all summer, cooking for them all day and not being able to eat any of it. I don't usually have a problem not eating it, but the "can't" makes the thought tougher. My date is July 23rd. I'm a Canadian going to the WLF clinic in Tijuana. I'd love to hear or share any thoughts and experiences from all of you.
