How many incisions did you end up with?

I had 4, but I had my sleeve surgery with the robotic arm.

    What's your favourite...

Creep by Radiohead "I don't care if it hurts. I want to have control. I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul. I want you to notice when I'm not around."

    what to tell the surgeon?

I was approved based on my BMI alone...I had no co-morbidities.

    Beer

My surgeon doesn't recommend drinking anything with carbonation due to it causing gas. It effects some and not others so he just tells everyone to steer clear. Also, empty calories...and it could trigger other addictions. He never mentioned anything about it stretching the stomach though.

    Post Your Silly Rant

Ok, here's another one....if you are fortunate enough not to have a disability...DO NOT PARK IN THE HANDICAPPED SPACES! DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED BATHROOM STALLS AND DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED SHOPPING CARTS! My daughter is disabled, after having 4 open heart surgeries in her short 24 years of life....she needs these things! If you use these and do not need them, you are an assf^ck.

    Post Your Silly Rant

Why is it in Cialis commercials, the couples are in separate bath tubs? Shouldn't they be together, isn't that the point? Also, why bath tubs? I think it is fairly inconvenient to have sex in a tub, not impossible, but certainly inconvenient.
  7. My surgeon didn't set a goal, just asked me what goals I had and confirmed I wasn't being nuts, and I was realistic. HW 258, VSG 08/19/15, now 155.

BMI calculator is a real *******

Thank you everyone for your responses....I am 155 now..and my goal originally was 150 lbs...but looking at my hips and thighs, i can do better than that...seems like I have nothing to lose anywhere else BUT there....so I'm still thinking going down to 135....hopefully that pesky BMI calculator will not mock me then! So, twenty to go.... I agree with everyone else, BMI are a crapper...and unrealistic. Honestly, I haven't been 155 since high school, and that was in 1988...so that I am here again is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks for bearing with my temporary pity party...

    Feeling Judged

My advice is to be direct to her. Tell her you have everything under control and are adhering to the program to a tee and will continue to take advice from your doctor and support staff and if she has any questions about how WLS and afterwards, you will gladly give her their number if she has questions. Tell her you appreciate her obvious concern but her comments make you feel uncomfortable and are not welcomed in the future. Tell her your life is yours to champion or fail...and not her concern.

BMI calculator is a real *******

Ok, so I started this morning off to a good start...weighed myself and saw another 3 lbs loss. Awesome me....yeah, yadda ya. I get to work and decide to check the BMI calculator....that a$$hole told me I was still overweight! On the bright side, I am no longer morbidly obese or even obese...but damn...I don't want to be overweight anymore either! Yes...poor pitiful me...I shouldn't complain, I am doing great, but....still! Sorry, having a bad morning..feel free to skip over this self absorbed thread of mine.

    Feeling bad...no progress

Well, no sense in any of us beating you up about it...you are doing that enough yourself. Chin up.... Best place to start is at the beginning again...that is exactly what I do when i have a bad day or days. My mental mantra: "Go back to the basics. Eat your Protein and get in your Water. Stop eating the crap Get moving." Do you have a NUT you can talk to in order to help get you back on track? You can do this...don't give up on yourself!

    One Liners for so-called friends...

Q: How did you loose the weight (I'm keeping my WLS private)? A: I did exactly what my doctor told me to do... MINE (yesterday to a colleague): Extreme overall Sand blaster and routine persistent jackhammer to the thighs (it really wasn't any of her business, she is the watercooler reporter of the entire building) Q: Is that on your diet? (From a so-called friend peering over my plate as I try to eat my meal) A: Well actually, my doctor thinks I've lost too much weight and wants me to add on a few pounds A: What are you having to eat? MINE: Why of course, and I look fabulous eating it too, don't you think so? Q: You must have spent a fortune on new clothes? A: Not so much, now that I'm a normal size, I can take advantage of sales. A: I did enjoy donating my old clothes to charity... Mine: Baby I'm worth it. I spend my money on clothes not food now. Anyone else? Here's a few more: How much have you lost? MINE: Not yet enough, but I'm getting there. Are you afraid of gaining it back? MINE: Not as afraid as I am of driving in rush hour traffic...it's like running with the bulls out there. I even got this one from a family member that "heard" I had surgery: Are you sure your mother approves of you having that surgery? MINE: Well, considering I am a grown woman of the age of 46, I really stopped asking her approval on such things.

    Pant sizes?

I started out at 258 lbs, size 22. I'm now 158 lbs size 12, somethings I can get into a 10. Seems my remaining excess lbs are all in my hips and thighs! UGH!

Can a Icee stretch your pouch

This is good stuff. I'm so dang grateful for women who choose the large straws. I love it when they put on a show. Ok, now this thread is getting interesting!
