    Hi,
I had SIPS back in June 2015. My mind was set on having the sleeve, however, when I went to see my surgeon, he told me about the great results he has seen with SIPS. I researched and read and talked with whoever I could that had this surgery. My biggest reason why I went with SIPS, is because I have seen so many people gain weight again after the sleeve. I know how I am when it comes to food, so I was looking for a more permanent solution. SIPS seemed to make more sense for me. I am very happy to say, I am NOT sorry one bit I had this surgery. To date I have lost a total of 114 lbs. I'm down from a size 24 to 14!
Here are some facts you need to know about first. You MUST take your Vitamins daily. You MUST get in your 80-100 gms of Protein per day. Your body will tell you when you eat the "wrong" foods, especially high in fat. (Gas & Diarrhea). Also, Exercise! Once you start losing the weight, it will be much easier to exercise.
If there is anything specific you want to know, just let me know! Good Luck to you!

I did the samething you are doing, researched like crazy. Then my brother, whom is a surgical nurse, had the sleeve done. It was a breeze for him. I had SIPS. We both had our surgeries in 2015. He is now gaining again. I am steady at 148-150lbs. Zero weight gain. I have no regrets! In fact, I wish I had it earlier. Feel great. Have any questions, just ask.

    Hi,
I had sips in 2015. Like you, I thought the very same way. I can tell you my experience has been all positive. After surgery, I experienced no pain. Stuck to my liquids, soft foods and gradually eating normal foods again. You will get full fast. No fried foods, as now your digestive is completely re-routed so you will experience smelly, oily stools. Not fun, but remember you will only absorb % of your intake. Vitamins regime is multi, Iron, D3, I also still continue with a Premier Protein shake at least 1x a day.
309 highest weight now 148. Size was 28 now 10. Living and loving my new found self again.

On the other hand, you can try sleeve, which as you say, is less invasive and has fewer malabsorption risks longterm....and see how it works. If it's not working, you can do a revision to DS. The majority of patients have very good luck with sleeve.
    it's a personal judgement call.

The one thing that tipped the scale for me and led me to me surgery was the number of people in medical fields that have bariatric surgery.

This is the sort of thing you should see your doctor about, especially if it has lasted three days. Foamyness is generally caused by excess fat or mucus in your stool, but this may be a symptom of a larger issue. Since you've cut out carbs though it probably means that it's not a gluten sensitivity.

I am currently 9 months post surgery and have lost 228 lbs. I would very much appreciate anyone's information/experiences/advice on Hair loss. When does it stop falling out? When does it start coming back? etc. Honestly it's not the skin or related issues that are my biggest challenge, it is my thinning hair. What can I do?

Premier Protein shakes for me as well. The cheapest place I've found them is Sam's club. Looking forward to trying Cookies and cream next. I haven't found any bars I like.....

No, I did not. This was my 1 and only shot of having SIPS. I couldnt be any happier! Surgery was easy going for me. Minimal pain. To date, no problems, no reflux, no weight issues, no more high blood pressure. Make sure you take your Vitamins.
