    June Sleevers!

Soooooo...I've survived two 4th of July cookouts and we have another one today. Today is day 6 post op. I haven't really been able to get any protein down, I don't actually want it. I'm not hungry. So I've just been trying to keep hydrated with water. I don't have much heartburn but my incisions do hurt sometimes. Other than that no complaints...I just want to get back to my daily life. And I am looking forward to chew food one day though.

    June 30th Sleevers?

Did everything go ok with your surgery? How are you doing now? Hey! Eveything went good. Thank god! The first day or two were tough...I was extremely nauseous and no matter what they gave me it made me vomit. So they stopped all narcotics and I felt much better. Gas pains are tough...I never knew you could feel gas pains in your neck and shoulders but you can. Walking helped alot...just to get everything going. I got home yesterday, I am tired but I am so happy to be back with my kids and doing my mom stuff (as much as I can). if anyone had any questions feel free to ask me. ????

    June 30th Sleevers?

Good luck everyone! I have my surgery on Monday and today was my first day home.
  4. I had to also loose weight before my surgeon would give me a surgey date as well. So he suggested I do a low fat low carb diet. I ate 1500 calories a day and less than 20 carbs a day. No dairy, no sugar (even fruit), no carbs (pasta, bread, rice, etc) and I lost 20 lbs in 4 weeks. It was hard in the beginning but then each day it got easier. For breakfast I did a protein shake or egg white omelet with turkey bacon, lunch would be protein (Rotisserie chicken, homemade turkey burger, tuna salad), and dinner would also be protein (chicken, fish, turkey burgers, salads). I also weighed and measured out all my food. Good luck!

    Self Conscious....

I agree with the above comments. I too was so embarrassed to go to the gym and of what people might think of me. But my friend gave me the best advice and said "honey I love you but people aren't gonna be looking at you. They are gonna be working out". So I went. I go super early in the morning (4:00 am) because that works best for me and my family. But get yourself some new cute comfy gym clothes, a new water bottle, and some good tunes and go for it
  6. @shani22404...I am on day 11 of my 14 day liquid diet and I have been drinking my protein shakes but it's a struggle...the chocolate I have is so gross. Even the smell of it makes me gag. I bought this one with my surgeons recommendation (bariatric fusion chocolate) but just reading your post about adding sugar free pudding or jello mix to my protein shake might do the trick. Thank you! ????

    Overnight Bag

My surgey is the same day! Woopwoop. I plan on bringing toiletries, comfy clothes because being in the Johnny is not comfortable to me, my cell and my charger. I think this it. Yay, good luck!

How do I get through my Pre-op diet?

You will get through it, trust me. The first 3-4 days are hard but you can do it! I'm on day 9 of my 14 liquid diet (I have 3 protein shakes a day, broth, sugar free jello or 2 sugar free popsicles, and lots of water). You feel like you are staving because you are hungry, but it's okay. I have a hard time when it's time to make my family dinner, I usually sip my broth during that time. Make sure you drink lots of liquids because that will help with your headaches. You can do this!

    Liquid Diet

Hi everyone!!! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing! I'm on day 9 of my 14 day liquid diet. It's been tough but it's been going. I've "survived" going to parties, out with friends, and my daily family life. I've been having 3 protein shakes a day, 2-4 cups of broth a day, and 2 sugar free popsicles a day or sugar free jello. I am very excited and anxious for my surgery on the 29th! Hope you are all doing well ????
  10. I have been using bariatric fusion strawberry and chocolate, isopure cookies and cream, and bariatric advantage vanilla. I'm on day 9 of my 12 day preop liquid diet. I don't have to do a clear liquid diet, thank god. But averaging 500 calories with 3 shakes a day, 4 cups of broth, and 2 sugar free 20 calories each popsicles. I think I will try the unjury unflavored, thanks so much!
  11. I was thinking about getting the unflavored Protein and mixing it with something like crystal light....but wasn't sure it would work. Does it dissolve completely and is it really unflavored? Thanks ????

    Liquid Diet

Hey! I'm doing good....I'm on day 8 (omg). I've been doing okay....some days are better than other. I feel like once 5 pm hits that's when I'm super hungry, I think that's because I'm making dinner for my family. I'm drinking broth as my afternoon snack or after my last Protein shake dinner. Yeah the Protein Shakes can be tough (I've been using Bariatric fusion per my surgeons suggestion) to get down. Im used to like mixing mine with spinach or a banana but I can't with this phase. I did order some torani sugar free syrups that I will be adding to my protein shakes to hopefully make they taste better. ????

    Sleep machine

I've had one for about a month now. I was surprised when I was told I had severe sleep apnea. Kind of scared the crap out of me. I sometimes snore and am a stomach sleeper. Anywho I assumed I was tired because I have three small children and just doing my daily/nightly parent stuff. I do feel better when I use it but it's not so attractive, lol.
  14. I don't have an answer for you but I have been to teavana many times and they have really good tea. Iced or hot. Im pretty sure you can get anything there unsweetened. When I go mine is usually unsweetened.
  15. I was wondering how the "feeling" differ between the two. I'm on day 6 of all liquid pre op diet....and im surviving. The first few days were hard but I've survived making three meals a day for my family, going to a 50th party full of food and alcohol, and, a date night with friends out bowling and drinking. I was okay for it all...and that's just crazy for me. Funny thing was if I look at the food it didn't make me crave it but if I could smell the food is when I was like "oh hello". So I guess my question is...is the hungry urge different after the surgey or can I expect kind of the same thing? ????
