  1. I had my band in Dec 2009 and yes I lost a good deal of weight...not all that I wanted. I was getting stuck and puking regularly. On April 27 I had my band removed and gastric sleeve revision. I am happy to be free of the band and all of those weird feelings u talked about. The scales are moving again slowly... and I am happy!
  2. Syntax Nectar is good...comes in a variety of flavors. It gets foamy when mixed with my bullet but I put it in the fridge at work and drink it midday. Tastes like kool-aid . I like the grapefruit, twisted cherry and the tropical one.

    Anyone else in a stall?

When the scale won't budge I look for other signs...like the fit of my favorite jeans as they start to get too big, or finding it easier to sit with my legs crossed, etc. It helps keep me focused on the goal. Hang in there!
  4. You were pretty even overweight, but gosh you are stunning at 3.5 months post op!!

    One year out today

Awesome! Looking forward to a day where I can say "I made it!" You give me hope!!!!
  6. When I think about it, I actually "cheat" in some way every day. Sometimes, it's small....like a bite of my son's cookie. Sometimes it's more though. I wake up every day and give myself a "clean slate" and try again. In the end, it's up to ME! My mantra is "protein, water and move the body" We just need to remind each other and ourselves that this journey is doable and our goals are achievable!
  7. Per the program I went through, the body can only absorb 30g of protein in one sitting. Maybe drink half of the shake for breakfast then again at mid morning?

    My one year Surgaversary !

You look slimmer and younger!! Thanks for sharing!!
  9. I should also add that yes, the scale didn't tell a story I wanted to hear but my clothes continued to feel looser. NSV is your friend!!
  10. Hang in there, follow the plan. Protein , water and keep moving! I am a slow loser...it is hard to stay positive!
  11. I hit the infamous week 3 stall which lasted 3 weeks! I am losing again but slowly! I was a band revision to sleeve and that apparently makes weightloss even slower. I am concentrating on protein and water and letting it happen. Excercise needs to happen for me...rain has left me feeling unmotivated. Keep on the course!!

    Labor Day Challenge!

    Count me in!!
  13. I went from band to sleeve on 4/27/15. I too hit a stall that lasted weeks but finally broke. My bf had sleeve same day as me and hadn't had band...she is losing faster. Even during my long stall my clothes were loosening so I tried not to be doscouraged. Protein and water going in this body and slow is better than nothing! Band was my friend but I don't miss puking!

I am about 10 weeks....not really hungry. I know acid reflux can mimic hunger so make sure u are taking the Opremozol or whatever your Dr precribed? And our heads are often worst enemy. Just make sure it's protein and water

We are on about the same timeline. My surgery date was 4/27/15. I am a slow lose but still feeling happy about it so far. I am down 28lbs but had this long stall where I was actually going up and down 2-3lbs. Finally going down again. I do monthly before and afters and the pictures tell me what the scale doesn't! Keep on keeping on!!
  17. I can tolerate the foam in the creamy shakes. I use cappuccino protein powder and add instant decaf coffee in the morning. For my liquids throughout the day when I am tired of water, I use Syntax Nectar protein powder (grapefruit, twisted cherry, tropical breeze, etc). For these, I mix them in the morning and put them in the fridge. The foam disapates that way!

    Name your doctor in Tijuana

I had Ortiz do my band-to-sleeve revision on 4/27/15. Very good experience from start to finish.
  19. In week 4 I ate peanut butter from a spoon and felt sooo sick! I thought maybe it was too soon. Well, last night I ate some apple slices dipped in peanut butter and oh boy!! I suddenly felt like I had the worst flu ever....for two hours I thought I might die! Anyone else have no-no foods??

    Constipation!

Tried Smooth Move Tea the other evening. The next morning the first 45 minutes after waking were horrible. I had lower back and tummy cramps and felt weak like I had the flu. I did have a movement within 45 min and another one before noon but felt sick and weak half the day. It worked but now scared to try again. Still battling constipation.
