Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

That is very true, I asked my surgeon on Friday if stalls in between a good loss is normal. He said absolutely. I also asked him about the possiblity of sleeven ( my sleeve ) being a bit bigger since I am a convert from lap-band. His answer was that for some patients that is a possibilty but in my case it is not. He said he made it nice and tight as a non revision patients would be. So that means that some days Sleeven is hungry and allows a little more than half cup of food. Other days he only wants a bite or two. Both perfectly normal ..
  2. You will do amazing!

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

Thanks Alex, I see progress daily and I know that ultimately I have total control in my successes. Thank you for the postive words!!
  4. I have heard of the sleeve being slightly larger due to scar tissue, but not from my Dr. I plan on asking him when I see him next week. I had a ton of scar tissue but my Dr. said it was on my diaphram. IDK if that makes any diffrence or not. Some days i can eat more than other days. Its just the nature of the beast i suppose. I live low carb and i STOPPED weighing ever single day. That is too much pressure to put on myself. I belive in the sleeve, so I trust what I do when it comes to what I eat. My weightloss has been pretty good considering the revision. Ive lost 35 in 10 weeks, I am not mad at that at all good luck!
  5. I have a hard time with breakfast as well.. but I force it even if its sipping on my protien until its all gone around 10 am. As for yogurts, I like Siggi's its high in Protein and very little sugar. http://siggisdairy.com/

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

True! Its a whole new ball game being able to eat again (even a little) and not throw up all the time. It was so routine for me to gag all the time, my kids would say "moms chewing her backed up cud again" yuk. lol
  7. Has anyone experienced frequent bladder or kidney infections since surgery? I am starting to feel like this is a common illness with me. I have had 2 since surgery in April and I feel as if i am starting to get another one today. They aren't mild and come out of no where. I am at my desk at work dreading any movement because I am in bladder and just pain below the waist. I have never experienced these as frequent as I am now. I am Miserable.

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

I know.. I shouldn't think it is.. but again in comparison to non revisors it is a tad bit slower. Don't get me wrong i am happy to be fitting loosely in a size 18 where as before it was a TIGHT 20. I am trusting my process completely, its working and I am happy about that. Now just about 50 more to go!

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?

I think it is slower.. I am 2 months and one week post op and ive lost 30 since I began the WLS process so since surgery ive lost 25 real pounds. I trust what is happening I do think my stomach can fit more food than it should. So i have to keep low carb things on hand to deal with that. It is dishearting yes, but its the nature of this beast. Got to keep pushing forward as hard as that is at times. I will keep the good attitude up.

    Bladder and or Kidney Infections

    Dont know what im feeling

It will all happen, it takes time your body is adjusting to the new tummy you have. You will feel all those things in due time and be able to distinguish hunger, fullness etc. For now it is working perfectly for the time post-op you are. Trust the process friend
  14. NoMoBand you are absolutely right, I had a lot of scar tissue and my band had attached itself to my diaphram. I was in surgery over 3 hours, I had blood and platelets administered during surgery and I had and still have some scar tissue at my port site. My dr never told me that my sleeve could be bigger than those who do not have a revision. However, I have had good restriction and feel that it was a successful revison surgery.
  15. Its not the same type of "pressure" restriction as we got with the lap band. It is a sincere feeling of being full without the pain or possible initiation of gagging. I am a former LB patient and I had some issues with it. I am happy with my sleeve revision this far. I hit some plateaus from time to time. But ive learned to trust my process and do my part to being successful, which is protiens first then maybe a little carb after, 70 oz of water and physical activity.
  16. It is tough the first few days, I just filled myself up in between with flavored water and hot broth.. the thickness of the shakes threw me for a loop in the first day or 2 but I did make a point to get them in. They are important Good Luck and hang in there!

    FUGG THIS (WEIGHT GAIN)

I am about 2 months post op and I have fluxed between 240-237 for about 2 weeks. I BARELY made it to 236 a few days ago... I can feel your frustration, I said the exact same thing you said. It happens and according to all the vets here on this page, its mostly Water weight. I get more calories than you but I do try to get tons more Protein so my cals are about 800-1000. I finally just threw my hands up and decided to TRUST THE PROCESS. I weigh once a week now, and I make sure to try to stay within my limits of food. Hang in there friend.

    TMI! Question

Miralax is the best ive taken. I had this pinecone problem before surgery so Miralax provided me with the best relief. I take it ever other day and it keeps me regular AND its not painful at all. A week post op my dr told me to take a full dose of Milk of magnesia about 7 PM and then 2 stool softners at 10 pm bed time then start miralax after that the next morning. Mind you I was backed up for a week prior to his instructions. His laxi cocktail cleared me up by the next morning AND the ongoing use of miralax has keep me regular.
  20. I remember back in my pre-vsg days that I would wolf down many things that I shouldnt have and would just sustian the same weight. Why is it now that we have a tiny stomach and eat and do our best to follow the rules the scale seems to be more sensitive? Ive had to cut my carbs out in a HUGE way as in maybe 30 grams MAYBE if that a day. I been doing this for the past week and a half just because I didnt want to go to my 6 week check up last week and the Dr say , dang you havent been losing anything. I really kicked the low carbs into high gear. THEN.. it happened I made spaghetti for my daughter with some Protein Pasta. I had gotten a regular salad fork and had a bite. My actual plate consisted of meat and sauce and no additional pasta. Today i am up 1.5 pounds since monday. I am so sad and i know that the scale isnt everything but damn. I used to scarf down appetizers , dinner and dessert and wouldnt make the scale move. now i actually make concious decions and a bite of pasta with sauce is making me so mad. I count i drink Water, i drink my protein for Breakfast, i take miralax I go to zumba once a week and walk while my daughter is a softball practice, and i gained weight. This is not the first time post op that this has happened. Its like my body wants to be at 240 FOR EVER. I have several friends with vsg, and i actually do follow a low carb diet yet they never had to and the weight dropped. What's wrong with me? I feel so sad, like how will I ever adjust to this if i feel GUILTY and gain weight so easily. My tool is broken i feel like. I feel sad because I went through so much with my surgery to feel like such a failure at this.

Ups and Downs and UPS again

I need to find a happy medium, I have always had to go low carb to lose weight even pre-op even with my lap-band it was always the only way I would lose any weight. I need to find a good balance of everything including stepping up my excercise. I don't to go zero carb and then when i have a bite of fruit or something I gained 2 pounds. I apprectiate y'alls input very much, I know I can find the right mix for me. Just got to figure out what that is!

    Anyone else aggravated?

I am guilty of being one of the people who did not know that we basically cut out most carbs. I did receive instructions and a hand book and a app and tons of info about post op eating. However, no where did it say "mininal carbs" . I did post on here not long ago about how we basically must cut a big amount of carbs out of our eating. I get it and i follow just that. But again, in my Dr who is one of the best in this area he doesnt specify that. His rule is eat your Protein first then have your carb. Simple. I am sure the posts are not ment to offend, or chap, or piss people off. Again this is a forum and is made to be able to vent and ask questions. I dont get offended by this at all, after all anyone who eats the wrong foods will be offending themselves soon enough when the scale doesnt move, and that will totally be on them. Accountability doesnt come as easy for some as it does for others.

    Any Regrets?

Parts of me does regret it SLIGHTLY.. i obviously couldnt diet on my own because if i could of i would have. But its dishearting to me that i will always have to watch my carbs for the duration of time that i would like to lose weight. Sort of like a modified Atkins style diet. i will always have to be careful with carbs even with 85% stomach gone. It makes me sad because I didnt think i would have to do the whole always on a diet thing again. I had to change my mind set to " i can eat what i want BUT i have to finish my Protein first, which usually leaves no room for anything else". That is how i get by. Again i am only 6 weeks post op, but Im feeling great and know i couldnt diet alone for the length of time i need to get enough weight off. Final decision is: I am happy I did it Good Luck!
