  1. These are good. Seems super easy to add the flax or chia seeds to yogurt, also, since i eat a lot of that. Thanks, guys!
  2. I've struggled with constipation since sleeve surgery 13 months ago. I take Fiber gummies, eat prunes, etc. and have been getting by ok. Today I had my first ever colonoscopy (super fun if you have never done it) and I got a lecture from the doctor about eating a high fiber diet. I had hemorrhoids, apparently, as a result of the last year of lower fiber and higher Protein. I am very good about getting in all my protein every day. I honestly have no idea how to eat a high fiber diet anymore. I used to eat tons of salads and fruit, vegetables, Beans, but now I find that meeting my protein goal takes up most of my room and I have little room for salads and veggies. Even when I order a salad as lunch, I end up mostly eating the chicken off it to get in my protein and then I am full. I do eat a few servings of vegetables a day and sometimes a piece of fruit, but there is just no room for all the servings this doctor was recommending. Does anyone have suggestions about how to eat 100 grams of protein a day and get in lots of fiber too?

    Protein brownie mix

    Oh, that would be great!
  4. A few months ago I saw an ad somewhere (not sure where) for a high Protein, low carb brownie mix. I ordered it and then forgot about it. Last week I found the mix and made the brownies, which were surprisingly high in protein and low in everything bad. I think it was mostly chocolate Protein powder and you add egg and coconut oil and then bake. They were so delicious--like the mythical perfect food. I decided to freeze them individually and take one out every morning, reheat and have as Breakfast with coffee. So, so good! But now I am almost out of them and I have thrown out the packaging and I cannot for the life of me figure out where I got them. I order from lots of places--Amazon, ebay, etc. so I looked through my old orders on my usual suspects and I just can't see it. I tried googling Protein Brownie mix and I can't find it. It was in a heavy duty plastic bag-like container. You get one batch out of the mix. If anyone knows anything about high protein brownie mixes that might fit the bill, I would be ever so grateful. If not, I may try to spend the rest of my life re-creating the perfect protein brownie. This is the saddest thing ever!!!! Mary

How to Make the Most Out of Buffets

I go to buffets more often than I like because there are a couple my kids really like and it seems unfair not to allow them to go. I bought little plastic 4 ounce containers with tops (you can get a pack of 500 or so for $5) and I keep some in my purse with me when I go. I fill my plate once, eat some food off it (Protein and veggies) and surreptitiously put the leftovers in the little containers to take home. That way I have at least one more meal (sometimes two) for the price. No one has ever said anything to me about it.

    My before pictures

I really like the smiley face! You look happy, ha ha.
  7. I know you don't need a snack in a two hour movie, and I often go to the movies and do without. But sometimes I want to snack on something when my kids have a big vat of popcorn. So, I bring some spicy roasted chickpeas in a small bag to have something of my own to snack on. I'd rather have those than to start eating all the popcorn.

    July Sleever

I'm doing well but am frustrated by the last few months of loss. I keep losing but so, so slowly now. I started at 265 and am at 190, so a loss of 75 pounds. I'd really like to lose another 30. I had a long stall a few months back and started tracking again. I'd gotten sloppy I think. Now, I'm trying to up my Protein to speed up the loss. But I feel great! I've started running after a long time away and it feels amazing. Mary
  9. I had surgery on a Thursday and was back in the office Monday. I have a desk job and went home a bit early that Monday afternoon to take a nap. The rest of the week was fine, though, and I worked all week, including some long days.

    Anyone tried Quark?

I think Quark strawberry is delicious. I've only had that, lemon (ick) and plain (good for cooking in place of sour cream but not for actual eating).
  11. I liked having my own robe and pajama bottoms. And I watched a lot of shows on my Ipad. I don't think I really needed or used anything else. I liked having my own robe and pajama bottoms. And I watched a lot of shows on my Ipad. I don't think I really needed or used anything else.

weight loss stopped at 7 months

This happened to me too--stalled for about two months. I started tracking again, and upped my Protein from 60 to 80 or more. I did start losing again. I think I'd starting snacking too often, and the tracking helped.

When is it not a stall?

I just wanted to tell you all that I've been tracking more carefully and have started losing again. Feeling really great! I could see now that I was snacking too much--nothing bad, but too often. Tracking is sort of magical for keeping you on the right path. Thanks to everyone!
  14. Seriously look at Mexico. I paid $4500 and that included travel. The amount you are quoting is ridiculous. Treatment in Mexico (assuming you do your research) is wonderful and the surgeons are highly skilled.

When is it not a stall?

So, three wonderful things happened today: 1) I weighed myself and had lost 4-5 pounds. 2) I discussed this with my husband and he told me that, about two weeks ago, he had adjusted the scale and added five pounds to it--because it was set to below zero as a starting weight. This was around the time I woke up and had found that I had gained 5 pounds in a day. It seems clear now that I did not actually gain five pounds, but it just looked like that because of the scale adjustment. It took me several weeks to lose those five pounds again. Which means my starting weight was higher than I thought, most likely, given the scale was set to five pounds minus zero, but I've also probably lost a few more pounds than I thought. All in all, it's clear that I was not stuck for a full two months. But I am definitely losing more slowly than most, and I am ok with that as long as I am losing something 3) Best of all, I read CowgirlJane's post and re-committed myself to tracking and staying on course. Thanks for the support, folks! This forum is great.
