Heatherrc1 reacted to CheleLynn45 in I hit my 100lbs lost today! WOO HOO!
I got on the scale this morning and was so happy!! I am down 100lbs!! I had hoped to hit 100lbs lost by my 6 month check up which was April 27th, but even though I didn't meet the goal I set for myself I am still very happy with how far I have come!!
I have 39lbs to go to get to my first goal of 175lbs. I am hoping to do this by my 1 year surgiversary!!
Tomorrow I am having surgery to remove my ventral hernia, this is one of the reasons I had the sleeve surgery to begin with. I am excited and nervous. I'm hoping my recovery from this goes as well as my recovery from my sleeve surgery. My bariatric surgeon is doing the surgery for me.
Thanks to everyone on this site, your posts and words of encouragement has really helped me stay motivated and know I can succeed.
I am finally able to wear my 100lb lost shoes I bought to reward myself. They are a really cute pair of wedges from Clarks, they were $107, but they are so cute and comfy. I normally wouldn't spend that much on shoes but for this I thought it was okay. I actually bought them a few months ago and my husband and daughter have been holding them hostage will I hit 100lbs. So today we are heading out to lunch/dinner and I am wearing them!!

The friendships I have are real. We have discussions, we don't just talk. We discuss pros and cons and give our opinions and although we don't always agree on the outcome we always have respect for the others decision. My grandpa told me if you can count your real friends on one hand at the end of your life you have really done something. How true that statement is.

Sounds like she is a busy body to start with. She needs more to do with her life than talk about yours. Bless her heart. Please do not let the judgement from her or others knock you off your game. I love this quote.." People gonna talk about you til the day you die. It doesn't matter what they call you it matters what you answer to." I would own that sh@$ like a boss! They wanted something to talk about.. I'd give it to them. Work your arse off and let them talk about your results! Good luck!

You need some psychological healthcare. Simply sounds to me like you weren't ready for this and jumped into it way too fast. Too many people don't really think about the consequences of what this surgery means. See a counselor or psychiatrist. You have made some HUGE misstatements. You say you can never eat a healthy portion? and you've done so well, knowing what a healthy portion is, in the past? Healthy is a lot smaller than you think it is, otherwise you would not have been obese to begin with. This surgery takes the fun out of food, with good reason.
food is what you live ON , not what you live FOR.
This may sound like I am uncaring but I care a lot more than many might think. This surgery saved my life, no even more than that, it has given me a life to spend with my wife and friends.
A whole new world has opened before me, and it can for you too.
That life does not include being addicted to, and to run my life around, food.
Think about it, and go talk to someone.

I am so fortunate to have my husband by my side. I was nervous at first about what his reaction would be. I don't know why. He has always supported me in anything I have wanted to do or try. He is attending all visits with me. He told me last night right before we went to bed that he would change his lifestyle to help me meet my goals. How could I ask for more? He has told me that he wishes I could see myself through his eyes and see what a beautiful person I was inside and out. I mean, come on, does it get any better than that? I wish everyone had someone in their life that supports me the way he does. Even the hair brain ideas I get at last minute about stuff that I look back on and wonder what I was thinking! ????

I have told the people closest to me and my manager because I had to request time off. I have decided not to tell anyone else until after surgery. This is mostly because I don't want to hear anyone try and talk me out of it like my manager at work does. And I'm so tired of hearing "you don't need it. Don't do it". After surgery I believe I'll be very open to talking about it.
I agree with what @@1SlimmerMe said about other people's expectations.

I am very open about my WLS, I guess I am lucky that I have all the support from my friends and family. I know a lot of people on this site and other sites want to remain private and not let others in, and they have the right to do this. We are all entitled to be who we are, so I have decided to just post and see what people have to say about this.
I am 47 years old have hidden myself from the world since I was 9 years old when I was told by a counselor that I was fat. I had this WLS for a reason and I am very proud of what I have done. I am very proud of everyone here and on other sites as well, I just wish alot of others on this site and other sites (facebook pages) would be tired of hiding too.

I'm newly post op so I haven't had to deal with running into people and having them ask questions about my weight loss but if I did I guess I'm one who doesn't care about sharing what I did to lose weight.
Now don't get me wrong I absolutely feel like it's nobody's business that you've had ANY kind of surgery but generally when people are complementing on how well you look and asking what you did, it's usually for informational purposes...well for me it is, I always wanted to know people's tips and ideas on how to lose weight when I saw they had loss a good amount.
So in that situation I would feel horrible about lying about my surgery and giving tips and tricks that yes I do but let's face it is not the only thing that led to my weight loss. So when people ask I'll just be honest, nothing to be ashamed of. The only thing that I'd be ashamed of is telling one set of ppl something and another set something different then you gotta remember if you told these ppl or oh shoot does he/she talk to this person....way too much! Be proud of your accomplishment no matter what steps you take to get there and don't be afraid to share it ????

Yesterday was the kids last day of school and so I picked my three kids and two grandkids up early from school. The kids wanted to Celebrate by going to have lunch at Chili's. There was a woman at a table over from us and she could not stop staring at me. It wasn't a flattering kind of stare. It was an OMG how can she be so big stare. Every single time I would look over when and I was taking a bite she would just shake her head in disgust. I wanted to say something so bad but wouldn't with my kids with me. I will be sleeved on June 15th. My two wishes are that a year down the road when I'm healthy that (1) I'm not a skinny bitch like that woman and (2) she is at Chili's again so that I can very politely tell her how insulting and rude her condescending stares truly are.

Why are you defining your success or failure based on a cupcake? You're human.
You may have a cupcake in the future (gasp). You may, or may not dump. Regardless, you will be fighting a battle to become (or remain) healthy. Don't worry about how to mark the score card, the only way you fail is if you give up.
