    First -
    Congratulations!
    Second -
You should be eating normal food now and if you are getting in your Protein and Vitamins and Water you have an excellent chance of a healthy pregnancy and healthy delivery. You will want to speak to your OB and Bariatrician regarding nutrition and your current level of exercise. As others have said, this does happen fairly often. Fortunately you should be well healed internally from the surgery and having lost what you have will help with the delivery.

Hello - I am quite new to the surgery. Had it on Tuesday May 26, 2015 - the hardest part for me was the nausea due to the anesthesia. I got home and took a total of 2 doses of the pain meds. Once I figured out that the pain meds made me nauseous, I stopped taking them and have not looked back. Between the pre operative diet and as of 2 weeks out I am down 35 pounds. I am really struggling getting in my Protein, but have figured out some strategies that work for me and I do really well at getting my Water in. There is some fatigue as you recover for a few days, but I am back at work and am humming right along. The hospital where I had the surgery is too far to go for me to do support groups, so I found a group close to my work and went last night. They were fabulous. It is weird coming back to work and people noticing my weight loss - some have even asked me quite loudly about it; however I am very grateful to have the opportunity to take charge of my health.

So really... My post was in fun, but also quite serious and I didn't word my inquiry well. How in the world do skinny people who don't fluctuate in size from year to year resist the urge to obtain a new wardrobe? I'm baffled at having shirts I loved from two summers ago that still fit perfectly, that I still love the look of and that are in perfectly great shape.
This sleeve thing still amazes me every freaking day. Absolutely no regrets.

When I found my husband at the finish line, I hugged him and started sobbing uncontrollably. It was so emotional! I was proud, and exhausted, and in pain, so happy to see him... It was very overwhelming.

Hello there. This is a tough journey and is never over. My best suggestion would be to stop where you are now. Go get some of the Protein drinks you used when you were first out of hospital and for a good 5-7 days do Protein and water/non carbonated non caloric beverages only. If you are consuming alcohol, carbonated beverages, etc., you will need to make a committed effort to stop so you can turn this around. Just my .02. I found that when I could eat more, if I went back to liquids for a few days and as low carb as possible, the restriction was such that it was a great help. Also keeping carbs as low as possible really curbs the desire to eat, at least for me, anyway. I wish you well on this journey!

I did what Kranky813 did, only I did not do as much Water. The grape ones worked really well with the Powerade zero grape.

I had plantar fascitis in my left foot and got talked into surgery by a doctor at a foot and ankle clinic. It took a lonnnng time to heal.
I had it in my right foot several years later and was in a different state with a different doctor who was an orthopedist. He gave me a cortisone shot which was unpleasant for a few minutes but really helped.
That doctor also gave me jelly lift inserts for my heels and told me to only wear shoes that had a slight lift - enough to put the pressure on my toes and ball of my foot instead of heels. Within a couple of weeks the inflammation was gone and I have not had a problem with it in 15 years.
The most comfortable walking shoes I had were New Balance. Right now I have a new pair of Earth Spirit shoes that I got at Walmart, and I was surprised that they were so soft and cushy and easy to walk on. If I needed to, I could put jelly heels in there and be walking on clouds.

I couldn't stand to drink them as they are. I made my own concoction and loved it!
    8oz of Isopure
8oz of Powerade zero (same color as Isopure)
    8oz of Water
Mix together in a water bottle - add ice or not and drink away!
No chalky aftertaste and not as sweet.

My husband has loved me through thin, fat, thin again, fat again and finally thin again. No matter what I looked like, he still couldn't keep his hands off of me.
Maybe that's why we've been together for almost 30 years. He just loves me for...me. I guess I'm lucky.

If the cousin is in your home, you could give them a nice list of hotels in the area and tell them they are welcome to stay at one of them if they are not going to be respectful to you. There is no excuse to be ugly.
I understand this may seem harsh, but that level of rudeness is unacceptable.

I totally hear ya. I've been at this for almost 15 months, just going into maintenence, and it's not easy. I get "battle weary" some days, and have the EXACT same thoughts you have had. I think "Fuck it. I'm 48 years old, I want to enjoy the time I have left and EAT WHATEVER I WANT. I don't mind being pleasantly plump. I'm middle aged, I'm SUPPOSED to be plump!"
The problem is if I just ate what I wanted and paid no heed to what I was eating, the pleasantly plump turns into morbid obesity. I've been there, and it takes a toll on my health unfortunately. High blood pressure, diabetes, sore joints....you name it, I had it. For me, that's the motivation to fight to maintain a normal weight. Let's face it, obesity affects us differently the older we get. It's not just a vanity thing anymore...it's really life and death for us. I would like to live longer than both my parents did. They both died untimely deaths due to heart issues. I cant do that to my kids...I WON'T if I can prevent it.
Good luck and I'm rooting for you!!

Best of luck to you. Many have had revision surgeries and there is no reason you should feel ashamed. The band did not work well for you, you have accepted that and have made the decision to move on to a procedure that will yield better results for you.
Be thankful and feel proud that you have made this decision.
    You will do great!

kimby1029 got a reaction from dafurrer in Why is it important to get 64 oz of water?
Not to be too graphic - but a lack of Water also makes it very difficult to eliminate waste products effectively. Since we tend to not get enough from food as we eat so little, we need to drink it.
The other issue is that for many thirst actually feels like hunger, ensuring that we are not thirsty helps with not feeling hungry to many too.
