    Congratulations WINNERS!!!
Thank you @Dashofpixiedust8 for taking so much of your time to run this challenge. I am sure we all wanted to lose more, BUT you know what? - many of us did lose a whole bunch of ugly unwanted pounds. Hooray for a great bunch of losers!!!!

Same thing here. RNY 7-12-17 losing a # each day, now stalled. I figure its part of the process so I need to up my exercise each day and since I am also eating "food" now instead of shakes, I will start dropping again when the body is ready. I am going to continue to weigh myself just for tracking purposes. Not worried as I am sure I will continue to lose!

Well, as it's getting so spicy in here I might as well weigh in with the things I've been thinking, but daren't say, since the start of the thread.
I'm having my bypass in two days. Over the past six weeks I've been thinking seriously about what happens afterwards and how I need to reset not just my body but my relationship with food.
What leaves me gobsmacked so often here is that I keep seeing threads that basically amount to 'when can I have the same old crap I used to eat and drink again'? Now call me perceptive but, assuming that surgery isn't a magic wand, isn't that exactly what put you in plus size pants the first time? There is a strong link between highly processed food and the incidence of obesity (in fact there is also a correlation between the consumption of artificial sweeteners like those found in 'diet' soft drinks and obesity). Highly processed foods and drinks just aren't that good for you and no one should know that better than people who have grown overweight to the point of major surgery by eating them.
I'm fairly lucky, my diet is mainly fresh and whole foods, my problems have been portion sizes, but this process has made me conscious of how I want to put things in my body that are good for me and, if I'm restricted in terms of volume, how I want to make sure every ounce is full of nutrients.

You can also buy individual packets on most websited ie: Bariatric Advantage & Unjury - buy a couple of each packet - see which ones you like before and after surgery.

I just need a moment to express my supreme elation!
Last week, I went to a conference with my parents. Turns out I needed a nice dress for a dinner one night. My dad took me to the local mall and kindly served and an audience for a mini fashion show. Before surgery, I wore a size 24; all the dresses I tried on were a size 20. We loved the last dress, but it was too big. The only only other size they had was a 16. My dad convinced me to try it on... IT FIT!!! I was so excited!!!
Yesterday, my mom and I went to some stores for a little experiment. For the first time since college, I fit in pants off the rack! I also fit into an XL shirt. Again, I was ecstatic!
Finally, I had my 6 week follow-up with my surgeon today. I'm 5'7 3/4. When I started my pre-op liquid diet, I weighed 277 pounds. On surgery day, I weighed 264 pounds. Today, at 46 days post-surgery, I weighed 234 pounds. That's 43 pounds overall and 30 pounds since surgery!!!
I feel wonderful! My skin is glowing. I have loads of energy. I'm happier and more optimistic. I feel like I'm becoming more myself than ever before. I'm so glad I did this for myself. My health is improving so dramatically. It's wonderful!
Anyway, thanks for letting me share! Blessings to you all!

Thank you so much. You both are so helpful. This site has been amazing. I tend to agree that we often hear about the bad more than the good and we certainly don't often hear "yippee I didn't dump!" LOL I also strongly believe that, if done right, we can train our intestines to accept food more. High hopes maybe but I need high hopes to move forward.

I dont drink juices due to acid reflux and don't eat sweets that often, greasy foods already upset my stomach. My weakness is bread, but I think I can keep it to whole grain or whole wheat.

So with all this ... I'm down to the line on making my decision and I can have the sleeve next Monday or the bypass next Wednesday (or maybe Aug 9th depending on if he needs a co-surgeon). Between this an my other posts, I decided I'm gonna be an RNY girl!
