Cigna approved me in less than 24 hours -- I think a lot depends on the skill of your insurance coordinator and the relationship they have with the insurance company.

I loved it. I was able to drop between 60 and 80 pounds (minimum) every time I used it.
The problem was, I would regain between 75 and 90. It worked wonderfully for me in the short term - and honestly, I don't know what long term damages I may have done to my body.

Preop I had no issues drinking 64 ounces of Water per day but post op I had the worst time trying to get in all my fluids. My surgeon wants 80-100 ounces and I'm only getting in about 60 per day even at seven weeks post op

I was sleeved on Monday and before surgery I would only drink Water. About 80 oz a day. As of surgery water makes me physically ill. Tried drops and crystal Light and could not stand them either. I have been eating smoothies since surgery to stay hydrated. I have gone to the bathroom since surgery so I know I am not constipated. I want to be able to drink so I can move to the Protein shakes:)

Yes... I cheated a lot. I lacked a lot in willpower. I would go a few days, then eat something. I never ate anything crazy though like fast food or things high in carbs and sugar. Things like lean meats, veggies, and I limited the portions, and then the following day I'd be back on the liquid diet. That was rough.
I then read after that some doctors allow people to eat food. I guess it's different types of surgeries, different bodies, different expectations.

In my opinion it is less about pain and way more about getting used to your new way of life. Sounds easy right? Not!
The first week you are mostly on Clear liquids sipping almost every moment you are awake to keep from getting dehydrated. The second week it is usually full liquids along with 64 oz. of Clear Liquids. Again, sipping constantly. It is almost impossible to drink/eat everything they want you too which can leave you feeling weak and dehydrated. You start to feel better in week 2 but you still get very tired easily.
Week 3 you start to feel much better depending on your ability to stay hydrated and by week 4 most folks are starting soft foods which makes you feel better yet.
It all depends on your ability to tolerate the new diet and stay as close to on track as possible. If you try to jump into things too soon it can actually set you back.
I started feeling really good by week 4. Prior to that I had to nap during the day and literally hold a glass of some type of liquid in my hand sipping constantly.

I went back to work today - 18 days post op. I am exhausted! It didn't help that I couldn't fall asleep last night until after 2 a.m. so I am operating on only 4 1/2 hours sleep but mostly it is about the new lifestyle. I had the drinking thing downpat by yesterday and today I have hardly drank 1/2 what I should. Could you survive going back earlier, probably, but it will certainly slow you down and you need as much time as you can to dedicate to learning your new eating/drinking lifestyle. As far as being up and about, I was able to move pretty well by Day 6 BUT I took my pain meds pretty regularly.

My tummy has never rumbled so much since I've had Lapband Surgery - and yes it is extremely loud. There is no hard and fast rule as to when mine erupts... Sometimes it is when I am hungry, sometimes it is when I am full, sometimes it just happens for the sake of it. A really very odd sensation but very funny at the same time - the looks that come my way are hilarious...

My issue is passing gas. I do it alot. Luckily most of the time there's no odor but there sure is noise. I've farted in front of friends and family. I can't help it and just do the best I can by laughing it off...

Too funny. I am literally having lunch, took my first bite of cottage cheese while reading your post. I am 8.5 months post op and still rumbling!
It just comes with the territory I think.
My grouch pouch loves to tell me when she is happily eating or drinking. She also yells at me when I eat too much by being very very quiet. I can usually tell if I am full because of her lack of noise.
You will get used to it but others do hear it. My hubby thinks it is actually funny.

Not only do straws introduce air..but we tend to gulp or swallow to much with a straw. ..

Straws can have you swallow extra air, but only what is in the straw itself. As a nurse, what I tell my patients who want to drink through a straw to simply fill it first before drinking.

I don't know that there is any way past it. Our tummies have always made noises when digesting food and beverages, but the volume increased now that our tummies are smaller. I don't know if it will ever stop. Mine tummy makes noise after drinking and eating. Yes, it is loud enough for others to hear. Some folks think it is gas and that chewing some Tums might help, but that doesn't work for me.

I took a month off..week 3 I was fine to move about with minimal pain. The first two weeks I was just weak with no energy. ..couldn't stay awake for a full work day. I had no complications and have a desk job.
As for exercising. ..my dr still has me just walking..currently 20 days post op.
