    1st Milestone

How exciting!! I'm looking forward to the day when I'm back under 300 pounds!!!
  2. You're doing fantastic already! What have you been having for meals? thank you ???? I've been doing Fat free cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta cheese bake, refried beans with melted mozzarella cheese, low sodium tomato soup with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and onion puréed.Oh okay! I'm on full liquids for two weeks so can't eat those quite yet! But thanks for the tips ????

  4. I have BCBS and I live in Iowa. I am 21 and was 330 pounds with a comorbidity (hypertension). They required a visit with the dietician and a psychiatrist. Once I saw those two, I was approved for surgery, no questions asked.
  5. YAY! You're On Your Way Now! I had my one week post op visit yesterday, in down 7lbs since surgery! I couldn't believe my eyes, thought the scale was wrong. It is so motivating. ???? Yay! So happy for you!!!! The scale is not wrong!! All your hard work is paying off tremendously!!! Whoo hoo ! 2 lbs. any loss is great. Congrats Well I was up 5 pounds from my hospital admission weight when I went home the next day because of all the fluids they gave me, so if we count that loss then I'm down 7 pounds from that!!
  6. Woke up in quite a bit of pain today because I slept in my bed ALL night long and have only been able to do that for part of the night, but that quickly melted away when I realized I finally joined the losers bench today. I am 2 pounds lighter than my hospital admission weight and I am so excited I can't seem to contain it!
  7. When was your surgery?Mine was Monday and they said if I hadn't had any inkling of having one Thursday (today) at noon I should medicate with miralax to have results by Friday. I had results today on its own, though! Mine was Monday too. But I'm wondering if it's also due to pain meds I'm on. I have previous pain from neck back leg and feet. So I'm in morphine sulfer. Norco gabapentin and cymbalta. I took a colace 100mg todayYou may want to take some miralax!

  9. Hot shower. Did Dr give you pain meds ? Does walking help? The heating pad is my go to , but as you said not helping you. Hope feels better soon Thanks for responding! I do have pain meds and I took a shower yesterday! I also had my first post-op bowel movement today and that seemed to help a bit! Walking does help but it's been rainy and there's not much space to walk around in my house! Thanks for answering!

    Trouble with food

I remind people that it's an addiction just like alcohol or nicotine or anything like that! A lot of people seem to forget this! You seem to be doing a great job on keeping yourself on track! I have no doubts you will be fine!!!
  11. It seems as if this surgery has just snuck up on me! Today I am on a clear liquid diet per surgeons orders up until 4 PM when there's the lovely bowel prep with the magnesium citrate. And then they said I'd be allowed to have Water up until 6:30AM but I plan on being asleep at that time! I check in at 10:30! I have lost more than 15 pounds on the two week pre-op diet but must admit that yesterday I had two mango margaritas (I mean I JUST turned 21). Anybody else getting their bypass tomorrow? I'd LOVE to be able to encourage one another!
  12. Sorry to hear about your issues with the pain meds I can keep mine down just fine and if I stay on top of them I feel pretty great! I was lucky and did not have gas pain! I also got to go home Tuesday afternoon! Since then I've tried to focus on water and milk and any liquid but I do agree it's very hard! I did, however, have the dreaded 'first bowel movement' after surgery today and it's honestly made me feel 10x better than I felt before! I hope things continue to look up for you! What are you eating for meals?

    Trouble with food

People just don't understand how much we are pressured by society when it comes to food! I've heard people tell obese people to quit 'stuffing their face' and lose weight but most don't understand that just like any addiction, food addiction is very real and obesity is a disease that needs to be treated as such in order to be overcome. It starts with you, though! I'm very proud that you're sticking to your guns!

    Trouble with food

Just tell them although their food looks amazing, you're trying to eat healthier and better! And thank them for offering!
  15. Hi, can I have your old ones? :')
  16. My sister went from a DD to a C in two months Which makes me a little scared because I'm a D and I don't want them to get smaller ????
  17. Anybody have any advice on how to get rid of back pain while trying to heal? My heating pad just isn't doing it for me anymore and the pain is pretty terrible
  18. I also had surgery Monday and my advice to you to get the blood pressure up, is to stay on top of your pain and walk whenever you can! If you get that pain under control, walking won't be an issue and then you can get that blood pressure up! I'm sorry you're struggling! Just know that you're not alone!

    8 Months Out 80lbs Down.

Holy moly! You're doing so great!
  20. I had my bypass May 11th! I have 7 very large incisions in my abdomen that my surgeon had to make large because of all this muscle I had in my abdomen from my basketball days. Otherwise, everything has been going great! I was discharged from the hospital yesterday and since I've been struggling with pain. They prescribed my meds for every 6 hours which I promptly called and asked if I could do them every 4 which wasn't an issue! Other than that, I'm feeling better every day! I'm so glad to have other may people out there to talk through things!!!

    Scared to death

I just kept in mind that the surgery was about as risky as a gallbladder removal and kept that thought in my head. I'm two days post-op but don't think that you're the only one who was scared of the surgery! I was terrified. But I kept thinking, I'm 21 years old with hypertension, I can't keep putting this much strain on myself of I WILL die earlier than expected. Being obese or overweight is not good for your body and I realize everybody is scared to lose you early, but you should be scared about losing yourself. It's about you. And it is scary but I have great high hopes that you will be just fine ❤️ chin up.
  22. For people struggling with incision pain, I have found that putting a heating of against them helps a lot to get those muscles looser around the midsection! I'm two days post op and I have 7 that are more than an inch long each.

    Problem keeping fluids down

Perhaps you're drinking too fast. I'm having no issues with liquids so I tend to drink them fast and then I get burpy and urchy. Try to slow down a bit.
  24. I had mine yesterday and everything is going so well right now!!! Thinking about you! Keep me updated!!
