  1. Sorry i haven't updated in a while. I had a full lower body lift with Dr Mast at UF Health in July 2017. SO HAPPY! it went great, very little scarring, no problems. Flat tummy and lifted bum! I think that was about $10K with an employee discount. It was an outpatient procedure.

I am scheduled for a breast lift, thigh lift, and arm lift with an overnight in the hospital in January 2020 and that will all be $13K with an employee discount. Had to wait a bit to save up. I'm excited!

  2. I am post-op day 4 from my LBL (tummy tuck, butt lift, outer thigh lift) and I am feeling pretty good. My pain pump came out yesterday and my pain is controlled well with my Norco and Valium. Day 2 was the worst for pain. I am numb all over and very swollen but my belly is flat and my bum is lifted and I feel good! I have a small leak from my rear incision but that is normal and getting better each day. FYI - my surgery was with Dr Bruce Mast who is the head of plastic surgery at the University of Florida, the surgery was outpatient and cost $9200 total. I will post more updates as I progress. I'm paying cash for my surgeries. $25k for Circumferential Body Lift with vertical and Medial Thigh Lift in May and $17k for Breast Augmentation and Arm lift in July.

I am paying on a credit card that is interest free for 15 months. I'm 2 days post op LBL that was $9200 (outpatient) In January I will have a combined arm/breast lift (no implants) with inner thigh lift (1 night inpatient). Total cost is around $10,000. I'm having all my surgeries at UF Health Shands Teaching hospital in Gainesville FL with one of the top cosmetic surgeons in the country, Bruce Mast.

  4. Has anyone heard of places in Mexico or the Dominican Republic that offer plastic surgery at a much lower cost? I used to have a co-worker that went to the DR, stayed at a resort for plastic surgery for a week and it cost $7000. I doubt I'm going to be able to afford $22000!

I am day one post op from an LBL with abdominoplasty at University of Florida Shands Teaching hospital and the price was $9200 and it is outpatient. Look into teaching hospitals. I am VERY happy with my results so far.

  5. The pain is intense whenever I move, not gonna lie. I have ice on my side and crotch right now. And yesterday after surgery I had to go to the ER because of extreme bleeding from my rear incision. Fortunately my doctor met me there, checked everything, and assured me it was normal to have leakage especially in the first few days even though I have drains. It has subsided since then but is not completely done. But I had my binder off for the first time and I cried with joy at the sight of my flat stomach and the fact that I could see my hooha without lifting up a pile of fat or skin. I will take the pain for a lifetime of flat tummy any day! Time for my meds!

  6. I haven't been on this site in a while but I just had to share that I will be having my lower body lift on June 21st! I am so excited. And for anyone who may be interested, I am having it done by Dr Bruce Mast at the University of Florida. He is top in his field and UF is a top medical school. They do it as an outpatient procedure so I will be home the same day and because it's a teaching hospital it is so much cheaper than private practice. he will be doing my inner thighs, arms, and breast lift in November as well.

  7. I am doing extended fleur de lis Tummy Tuck and breast lift/reconstruction which includes extending my incision to remove my "side boobs". Price is $8,400. He only charges a $50 consultation fee which is applied to the cost of your surgery if you book. The surgeon I went to see before him in Orange Park wanted to do a standard tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation for $15,000.

Thank you for this! That is much more reasonable. I have my consult with him on July 22 and I am hoping to get good news on the prices. Seems like I will.

  8. Yes, I met with Dr. Bruce Mast. He is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at UF and specializes in massive weight loss patients. His prices are similar to what you would pay in Mexico too so win-win. He is in the top 1% of plastic surgeons in the U.S. I plan on having my surgery in November.

I have an appointment with Dr Mast in July for my initial consultation. When you say his prices are like Mexico, can you be a bit more specific? I need the works and I met with Dr Aguiar in Tampa, and loved him, but all told it would be almost $45,000 for a LBL, breast lift, arm lift, thigh lift and that was spread out over 4 surgeries. The doctor's fees weren't outrageous but then you have to pay for the surgery center as well. Needless to say, that is WAY out of my price range so I started looking in Mexico and to have everything done there is about $20,000 - $22,000 all inclusive. I live in Ocala and would much rather have surgery near home but cost is definitely a factor. I appreciate any insight you have on Dr Mast.

  9. Does anyone have BCBS of Texas? Have you also had plastics through them? I called them today to see what kind of requirements are needed and the time limits, etc. To my complete surprise, they really don't have any. No waiting 18 months after surgery or anything. It seems like all my doctor would have to do is submit information proving that it is medically necessary, i.e. documentation of rashes, skin irritation, photos of the affected areas, difficulty with tasks of daily living, etc., and then BCBSTX reviews it and decides if the documentation proves medical necessity. This seems much less stringent than other insurance companies. Yet, it is also a bit vague in the requirements. If anyone has had experience with BCBS of Texas specificially, I would appreciate knowing the process you took and if you were approved or denied.
