naturegirl got a reaction from nieuwevis in New Pants this morning
My husband pointed out Torrid last weekend commenting that I haven't shopped there in ages. My response, "I'm not plus size anymore"

It's an amazing feeling to size down! I too have skinny jeans, something that I never thought I'd wear. Although I went with the skinny cut as they fit better, lol. It's a novelty to not automatically head to the plus size of the store or have a W next to the size. Although I do miss my Lane Byant bras.

Months 3-6. Month 3.5-5 was the worst! My Hair loss has stopped and started to regrow. But it's incredibly thin now.

Does anyone attend the support group at St. Francis? if so, what do you think of their support group? Is there a lot of people in attendance? I'm interested in attending.
I moved to the area in November and had my surgery out of state. Was wondering if they allow attendance/participation of those who did not have their surgeries through them?

My husband has always referred to my feet as Hobbit feet. I refer to them as Sasquatch feet; size and hairs, lol

naturegirl got a reaction from nieuwevis in small complaint about my body
Can I just say that I'm loving all of the analogies! I'm a curvy gal too, always have been. I was the heavy girl who had big calves that were probably equal parts fat and muscle. People would ask me if I was a swimmer because of my broad shoulders. Yep.
The charts are frustrating. According to them I should be in the 114-144 range, when I view a healthy range the 150s. As for clothes, my pant waists are once again too large, but thanks to having child birthing hips, a saggy butt, and thick calves I need the larger sizes. So to get pants that actually fit I selected the 13/14 slim boots at Maurices. While my work pants from there are 11/12 and loose. While walking the stairs at work today I looked down at my thigh and thought how huge I am. Body dismorphia at it's finest right? While it might be time to size down, I quickly reminded myself that the 95 pounds lost tell me that I'm not the obese person I once was.
Keep at it ladies. Recognize what's healthy for you, and don't focus on what charts tell you.

naturegirl got a reaction from BonnieJo in Constipation
I'm 7 months out and having this issue. Thought things were starting to regulate, with bm every other day. Nope. Back to many days between each bm. Don't want to take anything, but starting to think I might need to.

naturegirl got a reaction from Dub in Alcohol?
I was around the three month mark. I usually stick with wine, but on occasion will have a mixed drink. I keep the quantity low as I get buzzed very quick. I am also aware that when having a filly drink that I'm consuming sugars and carbs that I don't need. So I use the reminder as a deterrent from having them often, or for finishing/nursing the drink.

naturegirl reacted to sbg224 in Constipation
The Constipation is so bad, and I am almost 7 months out. I did have a total knee replacement and have been on narcotics, so it is worse, but was not good before surgery. I just wrote yesterday it is amazing how we take for granted the day to day functions of our bodies until we struggle with something. I actually am seeing a GI doc, and was put on Linzess, it does help about 50% of the time, but what I would give for a normal BM with out help. Good luck, I really do understand.

naturegirl got a reaction from bobs1477 in Foods for camping in cold weather?
I'm also thinking that you'll need to layer up and eat more frequently. You might also want to talk with who ever is planning the food/meals so that they are aware of your diet and can make recommendations on things that might work well for you to fuel. When in doubt, bring your own food.
As for camping, I went camping a month after surgery and was fine. Rode my bike and hiked too.

My daughters sell GS Cookies, so they are in my garage as we speak. I will be honest and acknowledge that I ate one Tagalong and a few Thin Mints. My will power has helped restrain the urge to plow through a whole box, but it's hard! Especially while staffing booths where those colorful little boxes are taunting me. Damn, they're just so yummy!

Also care packages with great foods that are healthy. Low carb, high Protein would be a good way to encourage good habits.

naturegirl got a reaction from VMS1990 in Shopping
I think the 50 pound mark was when I purchased a few items of clothing. A new pair of jeans and a few tops. At the 85 pound mark I bought new work pants, jeans, a few sweaters and <gasp> underwear! I'm just shy of 100 pounds lost and already need new jeans and work pants. My tops are M and L and I'm finding the M to be a better fit. Of course I find that to be funny as the last time I was 170 pounds I was a size 14 and wore L/XL tops. Of course depending on the brand and cut my current bottoms are sizes 11-4, so I'm anxious to see if my work pants will go to a 8-10. I look in the mirror or down at my legs and can't believe it as they are big and jiggly. But I'm ecstatic for the loss none the less.

I too can eat more and I hate that I can. I have to watch everything I eat. SW 320 CW 191. I too have the saggy skin and loss so much hair. Best part is that I will not have to go through this again! I refuse to gain any back...we worked to hard to get at this point.

naturegirl got a reaction from judy1234 in Headache, advice please
I have Migraines and have had a difficult time with them lately. Every few months it results in me getting a shot of toradol in the rear to break it up. Unfortunately for me since I recently moved across the country, I'm having to tough it out until my new insurance kicks in. Good luck with finding something that works.

naturegirl got a reaction from songsmith in How to help my daughter
Our kids are elementary school aged, but our oldest is overweight for her age, and we have had discussed the need to change her habits because we don't want her to be obese like we were. We're an honest household. Sorry. As yours is an adult you there is nothing wrong IMO about having a friendly conversation about whether or not she's finding activities to keep her busy while i n school. At the very least you;re learning about what she's doing. Now if you want to encourage her to be active you might suggest the two of you sign up for a fun activity like a color run and train "together" for accountability. While you might use it more for your motivation to be healthier, it could be a request for her help to keep you going.
