ThanksCongrats on 60! My nutritionist did not give a Protein requirement but recommends protein first and very little slider foods. I have been using myfitnesspal and know that I am around 35-50 G protein per day, sometimes in the 60s-which I know is lower than most are expected to do.

3 months , down 65 lbs!!!!Yesterday was my 3 mo anniversary! Down 65 lbs! Happy with my progress! Frustrated with my moving and my surgeon not wanting to do anything for me from afar, but hopefully things will work out soon!
The picture says it all. You look great.

I wanna say , wow , 26/28 down to 14/16 , amazing. U must feel great.Okay, I am late to joining the party, but I just recently found Bariatricpal! I was sleeved on May 11th, putting me 3 months post-op. So far I am down almost 77lbs., but have hit the "3 month stall" this past week.
I just walked my very first 5K race last night! I am very fortunate to have a huge support system, but it is nice to know that I now have those of you who "get it" because you have been there!!
My biggest dilemma right now is what to do about clothes. I have purged my closet of TONS of things ... I went from a 26/28 to now being in a 14/16. I start back to work in a few weeks and although I cannot fit in any of my old clothes, I cannot afford a new wardrobe either. SUGGESTIONS????
I fortunately had many different sizes in closet due to my constant yo-yo dieting. I did donate 5 large bags full of clothes to goodwill. So I'm limited as to what clothes I have left.
I say go ahead and shop a little. Just shop on the cheap , consignment shops , stores like old navy and places that carry things for $10

So I had my 3 month check up with surgeon last week. Had blood work done a week before seeing doctor
Results of blood work were perfect with the exception being my prealbumin levels ( this is Protein levels, for those who may not know )
Doctor says this is a little low. No surprise, I expected my protein to be low Still a struggle to get in all in
But , a little low is better then TOO low.
Total weight lose 54.8lbs.

We know that when we opt for this surgery it's only a tool , have to have our heads on straight too.I'm starting to wonder, how much have I really even changed, habits wise! I mean, I know I don't eat pizza, chips and all that other crap, but just the moments I need something, I want it fast, and my options are so limited, partly due to laziness and also convenience, which really are both in the same!!! I'm exercising 3-4 times a week, and I really do love that part! I'm seeing the changes in my body for sure! But I see how the 4 people I know, who've had RNY, have all put back on the pounds. Some more than others!! And I don't want to be that person! I guess the planning ahead part hasn't been going the way it should on my part! I guess I kinda know why I'm not feeling successful in that part of the change... Hey 91lbs in 3 months isn't bad so I'll just move on from here and start planning ahead again like I did in the beginning!!!
I wish you all well and happiness on your journeys!!!
Ur doing so much better then OK , 90 lbs. amazing !!!
U can and will achieve ur goals.
Good days and bad, hang in.

Salonboi. I hear that. I have tried a few pretzels but I will say , I am not routinely snacking. I haven't had bread , Pasta, rice, etc since surgery.
I'll have to check them out!!! Thanks!! I just hope these snack type products aren't my trigger for bad stuff, creeping back in one day.. ????
Kay's Naturals is a line of protein Snacks , pretzels etc. taste pretty good. From Amazon
Congrats on your loss!!!! My sugar addiction is gone to, and chips still do the same to me!! I've been doing Veggie Sticks.. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1438688968.575938.jpgI am still figuring out what I want. I still love shrimp, steak (but it hurts me to eat it) chicken, eggs are ok. I am sort of boring with my meals. I really only get hungry once a day and that is at dinner time. One biggie that I used to love but now don't is Water. I used to guzzle water right out of the faucet. Now, the minute amount I have to swallow to take my meds repulses me. I am ok with add-ins. Just no plain water. Sigh. I love the Protein drinks. I think I would be fine just drinking them forever (or at least a very long time.) I don't really want to eat most days. I know I should be eating more solids but I just don't want to. I would probably lose faster, huh?
My sugar addiction is gone. I don't want most fried foods. (Chips still scream my name but I can walk away.) I am down 70 lbs from my highest weight. My surgery was May 6th. I have tons of energy and don't need as much sleep. I will work until midnight then be ready to get up by 5 or 6 am. Sooo unlike me!!!
I still need to speak with my NUT about them. I use as a quick snack at work, when eating isn't optimal..
We do have to be careful. Past experience has shown bad habits creep back in easily.

I was dropping the weight much faster, 5 to 7 lbs a week. Now about 12 weeks after surgery dropping about 2lbs a week. Which I am fine with , as long as scale goes down , I'm good. I think to myself , no more yo-yo dieting. No more dieting period, it's a life style change.
Feeling so fortunate. ????

Nancy mine tastes have changed alot too stuff that I hated before I now like and vice versa. My appetite is still gone I have to force myself to eat I just don't get hungry at all.
Otherwise I'm doing good. So far I've lost 105lbs. Since may 11th. Wish everyone the best.
Hey wow , wondered where you've been. So funny, to not have an appetite. I too have to force myself to eat. Some days I actually forget that I haven't eaten.
105lbs that's incredible. I remember you went through a lot after surgery with your leak and everything. Nice to know things are going well for you now.

When I was told pre op that my taste for some things may change ,I thought , ok maybe a little. Well my taste has changed a lot. Certain foods make me nauseous just thinking about them , like eggs.
I've been eating mostly Soups , salads, and fruit. Which isn't horrible. I make my own soups to control sodium
I'm 11 weeks post op and down a total of 50.6 lbs.
I've rambled enough. Hope everyone is doing great.

It feels great to be able to purge the old and make room for the new.
YAY!!! I am 11 lbs away and can't wait to be there ????Hello everyone.
I weighed myself this morning, I am now in onederland. Feeling great.
Went though closets over the weekend and have a ton of clothes I'm getting rid of, too big for me now. ????. And no going back so bigger sizes are out of here!!!!
It's some of the little things I'm appreciating, like I can sit and cross my legs more easily.
I went through close this weekend. I am taking the nice stuff to a consignment shop today at lunch. Hopefully I can fund some future shopping trips!

Yes. It is good for me bc it's the only protein I've found that I can tolerate.
I'm not recommending it for anyone, just sharing. ????

So I had appt with my NUT last week and while there I asked her about GENEPRO Protein Powder. And I am happy to say it's in her list of top 5 Protein powders.

I haven't tried those but your about the 3 rd person who has mentioned or suggested their nuggets. I will have to try them.Has anyone tried the grilled chicken nuggets from Chic-fil-A yet? I had them for lunch yesterday (forgot my packed food on the counter) a 4 piece is just a little too much for me but can't beat 70 calories and 11 grams of Protein packed goodness! For me the icing on the cake is getting the Diet Lemonade for later!!!

Wow. You look so much thinner.ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1436283435.797897.jpg

I know you feel amazing. Congrats
The before and after pictures are so inspiring.

Time honestly is just flying by!
I'm down 41lbs from my highest weight. Clothes / scrubs big on me.

Well it the best I can do right now. Genepro or no protein. Something better then nothing.
I told my NUT that I was using it every morning and she said that she knew of it. I didn't really get the impression that she had a negative view on it. But, I may have to do more research.
I've read that their claims on product information isn't what it really claims to be. But that's just what I've heard and read. Definitely don't take my word. Research it and show to your dr... That's why I didn't even bother with buying it....
Hello Rosemary
@@nancynew have you tried GENEPRO? It is a "tasteless" powder that has 30g of protein for just 1 tbsp. I start my day off with it mixed with Decaf coffee and a little SF creamer8 weeks post op (well 8 weeks and a day lol). Feeling pretty good. Down 41 lbs from highest weight. Eating better, getting all my Protein and Water in continues to be difficult but getting better. I have tried at least 10 different Protein drink mixes and still haven't found one I can drink, they are all too sweet or just taste awful. Will keep trying to find the one I can tolerate but it's been a battle for sure. I'm working with a personal trainer at local gym 2 days a week and cardio on my own the other days. It was a rough start after my bypass but it does get easier.
So I put GENEPRO in my decaf coffee this morning. Along with my creamer and it was so good. Blended well , didn't even know it was in there. Have you tried putting Genepro in other things ?
I was wondering if it blends well in cold or room temperature foods / drinks. I drink v8 juice , gonna try it in that later today.
My NUT said should be whey isolate Proteins. I don't think Genepro is an isolate. I'm going to take it with me to my NUT appt on Monday. She what she thinks.
At least getting protein. I appreciate you sharing. ????????

Thanks. It does feel great. Never before could I ever lose 41 lbs in a short amount of time. Pics, well the problem with pics for me is I wouldn't allow my picture to be taken when I we at my heaviest so I don't really have a before.
Congrats on the loss!!!! And hey you are still trying to get the protein and water in and that counts ???? and how awesome on the trainer and working out!!! We need pictures to see that progress ???? my next set of pics is on the 5th since that'll be my 2 month surgaversary. It hit the 69lbs mark this morning ❤️❤️❤️❤️???? but that includes my 16lbs I lost pre-op as well... So from 349lbs to 280 is an amazing feeling. I'm working out 5-6 times a week and doing a total body workout every time. Circuit type training, that way I'm not over doing any one part at a time. It takes me 2 hours each time, because I stretch on my exercise ball in between each set and set timer for 2 minute rest period for my muscles.. I've always been an exerciser, and have always loved the endorphin rush ya get, and I love it even more, because I've actually got the surgery making me lose weight and have the exercise part going all at the same time. Usually I only have one or the other going, but not both at same time. So yay us ❤️❤️❤️❤️ keep up the hard work my friends, and I miss everyone talking as much, but hey we are all living our new lives and that's what is to be expected, including myself lol. Happy 4th of July to all of my May Peeps ❤️8 weeks post op (well 8 weeks and a day lol). Feeling pretty good. Down 41 lbs from highest weight. Exercise for is a chore. Once I'm at the gym and working out I like it but oh boy to get there. Exactly why I have personal trainer. Someone to hold me accountable.
I have appt with my NUT this Monday morning. Touch base with her and be sure I'm on the right track.
And hey weight off is weight off , doesn't matter if it's pre surgery or after its pounds down.
Happy 4th to all. I'm working all weekend but hope you all have a great 4th.

Today is first time I've weighed myself and didn't have a loss.
I'm 4 months post op and have lost every week since surgery. But not this week. Uh-oh is what I'm thinking, and panic is setting in.
Why didn't I lose ? What did I do different? Is this it , now back to the old struggles? Of course I am not able to eat large amounts of food but my appetite is slowly returning and that really scares the you know what out of me.
This thread has been really quiet , hope everyone is well.
