I'm so happy everyone is doing better! Whoo hoo may peeps! I'm doing better too! Finally busted that stall after 2 and a half weeks! My doc doesn't have Protein requirements which I find odd so I was only getting 20-30grams a day. I tried upping my protein, Water, and calories a day and it worked! Finally! Yes! Lost another 5 pounds in the last 5 days bringing the weight lost since surgery to 18 pounds! Yay!

Well it sounds like everyone is moving along in their journeys... I'm glad everyone is home from hospital stays and celebrating many scale and NSV's
This is a new way of life and not a diet for me personally, and damn, it's a big a$$ change. I know I've said that before, but it's so true!!
Good luck to us all, and plenty of Light and Love from me to you ❤️????

So sorry guys! I haven't gotten any emails that there were posts on here. I wonder why? I apologize for not checking back in sooner! My daughter is not doing much better. The nausea is totally gone and she's able to eat and drink just fine. She's lost a total of 50 lbs since surgery. I think she was hoping for more by now but I think her body's metabolism is recovering. During her 3 weeks in the hospital on IV fluids only, she didn't lose any weight at all. Then as she was on TPN at home (nutrients through a PICC line to her heart, similar to an IV) she slowly started losing again. She was on TPN for about 10 days then on solid foods gradually.
She's pretty much tolerating everything now except Protein. She's had a stall in weight loss the past couple of weeks though. She can't stomach any of the shakes, powders etc. we've tried.
Thanks again to all of you who've helped me through this and for all of you who are still commenting.

Right there with you! I had RNY done one May 27th and lost 13 pounds the first week. But I've been stalled for 2 weeks straight now. I feel the same way. Why did I have this surgery done if I'm not going to lose anything?! I am a little over 3 weeks post op.

It was a 2 week stall for me so don't fret... It'll happen for us. But honestly, as you know, our bodies will let go of the weight when it wants to!! Not on our time schedule lol..

Hi All! Just checking in. It's been a while since my last post, which was about my atelectasis (partial lung collapse.) Thankfully, I am fully recovered. I guess I've been waiting for something big to happen, obviously that won't be the case. Ive been a little disappointed that my weight loss hasn't been as quick as some of yours. I've been losing around 2 pounds each week for the past several... Sometimes I feel like I'm failing. Today is 6 weeks and Ive lost almost 22 pounds since surgery day, which is 10% of my surgery weight. In the two months Before surgery, I had lost 15lbs, which brings my total to 37 down. Sometimes it seems as if Im overeating, and sometimes I feel as if I've been undereating, which just goes to show I am still crazy! So Ive starting being more diligent about logging my food on My Fitness Pal... Looks like Ive been mostly keeping it under 600 cals a day. I am still struggling to get enough fluids in. Im lucky to be making 48oz a day, certainly not the 64oz I had hoped for. I have been walking at least 4 days a week between 4 - 5.25 miles each time.. I haven't added any strength training yet. I am just so eager to cross the threshold into Onederland (1.8pounds away > Sometimes, I just get so discouraged. Thanks so much for the heads up @@Salonboi on the eatslower app, I have definitely been improving on slowing down (1min 20 secs between bites) I know that I am driving my husband and daughter crazy with all of this, Its so great to know that you are all here on the same journey! <3 May Peeps! (and all our bariatricpals too!)

    Well I'm officially out of the 300's ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I hit 289 this morning ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I'm gonna ride the high as long as I can. Clothes fit way better, and yesterday was 6 weeks post-op, so working out on Bowflex and other weight lifting, went great... And my ab workout on exercise ball was perfect too... Good luck to you guys... Keep it up...

I have my 6 week follow up appt with surgeon later today. Can't believe it's been 6 weeks already.
Feeling pretty good today. Still have the good and not so good days.
It continues to be a challenge to get Vitamins , Water , Protein and exercise all in each day. And being back to work adds to the challenge. Get busy and forget to eat and drink.
Never before , ever, would I forget to eat. Hahahaha. I can only get down very moist or wet foods. I made chili yesterday and it was wonderful.
Isn't it amazing just how small our portions are now compared to pre op.
I had many regrets after surgery those first few weeks. Now that I'm feeling better and getting into somewhat of a better routine , no regrets Although, this by far is one of the toughest things I've had to deal with or should I say manage.
That's my thoughts for today. It's helpful for me to just say it on here.
One more thing, my husband will not see this but I will be sure to tell him.... He has been so amazing though this entire process. Could not have done it without him.
Thanks again to all of my fellow bariatric pals out there. Your feedback and your own posts have helped me greatly. Continue being losers !! ????????❤️

It does come off, much quicker than if we didn't have surgery... Patience isn't something I have a lot of either, but I'm learning..

Thanks Salonboi. I needed that. We all do expect the weight to just melt off. As frustrating as it is to not see the scale move, I know it will. Patience is not something I'm known for but I guess now is as good a time as any to really try and learn it.

It was around the 3 week mark and lasted 2 weeks for me. Each week for me after surgery was a new progression of diet. So soft food phase for me started stall. You just can't worry it's not gonna work, cause its gonna do what it is designed to do. We're hardly able to much, so our bodies are trying to pull a starvation mode thingy, and saying hey, we're not getting enough, let's hold onto everything. And if you are doing all of your Water plus Protein, you will start losing again. I bumped up my calories naturally, and that snapped my stall. But it was because I felt hungry, and wanted a bit more. Not a forced type situation.. It's scary knowing everyday, our honeymoon phase end is approaching, and yes it's still a ways off, but when you follow rule to the "T" we're like WTH.. Why am I not losing faster. But getting caught up in the numbers game is maddening. I knew the surgery wasn't gonna make it all come off in a month or two, but everyone said it just melts off. And for some that is true, and others it's not. And unfortunately that's just the way a person is built right!? But essentially, it goes back to not comparing yourself to any other persons journey with WLS. We all, as you know, are unique and have different health factors that determine our progress. I wish you continued success. ????????????❤️

How long did everyone stall for the first time.... I'm 16 days post op and I haven't lost a thing in over a week... I'm getting really frustrated and a bit depressed... Ever since I started pureed foods the weight loss has stopped. Help?

Hi all I'm back for the moment I've been in the hospital for 10 days ic had to take a break from everything hospital stay is been really tough. I've been kind of depressed and feeling that I made the worst mistake of my life because this pain is truly horrible I mean it's unbearable. So I have been staying away because I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer for you guys but having said that I am feeling better I think my depression was just the scariness of what could happen and feeling very lethargic. but the last few days since I've been home I've been feeling a lot better I feel with more Protein I'm getting more energy and I'm getting that excitement back. since being admitted I just felt like I've been run over by two trucks. anyway I'm feeling really well and then yesterday I weighed myself and I am down to now 375 plus another additional 25. Since I went into the ER so I'm feeling better about that and I'm I'm generally feeling better about the overall surgery again I just taking a break from everything. sorry there's not much punctuation in this it's because voice recognition.

I called and spoke with my surgeon because I've been pretty short of breath while I was out the last few days. Apparently it's normal. I also asked about my weight. (Haven't lost anything in 3 days) and he said to NOT weigh myself at all... He said if I absolutely have to weigh myself to do so only once a week but he really discourages it. So i think I might have my husband hide my scale. It's driving me nuts not seeing the scale move.

Out of curiosity, how much did you lose the first 3 weeks post op? And how often did you weigh yourself. I think I might be getting a little obsessed with the scales.

I started at 321, 3 weeks post op I weighed 290, now I'm almost a month post op and I'm stalled around 288-289. I'm obsessed with the scale too.
I weigh everyday but I only record my weight on Mondays!

I hope my May Peeps are doing ok? Everyone is being kinda quite!!!
Life has been pretty busy with me, being on my 3rd week back at work, so it's understandably crazy for us all getting used to our new lives, eating to live, not living to eat!!!
I have one more week and I can full on exercise again. My Bowflex misses me, as does my exercise ball for ab exercises... Definitely ready to start toning again.
My stall has been broken, 3 something pounds in 2 days so far ????.. I'm able to wear some clothes I've never fit in, and some I used to love to wear... It's gotten me a bit more pumped to get up, and try on something new/already in my drawers lol. It's like shopping in my own closet.. Hugs and Love and Prayers to you all ????❤️????????

Yes, yes it does! By far one of the hardest things I've had to do. But I need to keep in mind that when I came home I was 270 and now I'm 242 so I just need to keep focused. It's just hard when you have to cook for everyone else and watch them eat.
